In his preach Stephen Dawson focusses in on the themes of power and the importance of faith, encouraging us as Christians to trust in God's timing and plan, even when circumstances seem somewhat uncertain. He draws from a number of biblical examples, and emphasises how faith is not just belief but action - it often looks like stepping out even when the outcome isn't visible. Stephen challenges us to live with expectancy, remain obedient, and trust that God is working behind the scenes for their good.
Gift Day Sunday // Time to Build - Stephen Dawson // Ephesians 2:19-22 by Emmanuel
In this message, Stephen Dawson explores the miraculous healings of Aeneas and Tabitha in Acts 9, reminding us that God's power to heal is still active today. We're challenged to examine our faith and expectations when it comes to divine intervention. The story emphasises how these miracles not only transformed individual lives but also led many to turn to the Lord.
In this exploration of Acts 7, Stephen Dawson delves into the life and martyrdom of Stephen, the first Christian martyr. The central message revolves around imitating Christ through our actions, even in the face of persecution. Stephen's unwavering faith and bold proclamation of the gospel serve as a profound example for us today. The parallels between Stephen's death and Jesus' crucifixion are striking, reminding us that following Christ may involve suffering, but also brings ultimate victory.
Stephen Dawson reminds us of the profound responsibility and privilege of parenting as a spiritual journey. We're challenged to see our role as parents primarily as spiritual formators, shaping the souls of our children. He draws parallel between our earthly parenting and God's perfect parenting of us. It's a call to acknowledge God in all our ways, with wholehearted embrace. Stephen invites us to courageously trust God, even when parenting feels overwhelming, reminding us that it's not about having the biggest trust, but about trusting the biggest God.
In this talk, Stephen Dawson explores the transformative power of abiding in Christ's love and how it empowers our relationships. The central scripture, John 15:8-17, invites us to dwell in Jesus' love just as He dwells in the Father's love. This beautiful imagery of interconnectedness reminds us that we're not just servants, but friends chosen by God.
In this message, we're reminded that our confidence in the future doesn't come from knowing what lies ahead, but from knowing who holds the future. Drawing from 2 Peter 1:3-4, we explore how God's divine power grants us everything we need for life and godliness. The sermon challenges us to shift our focus from worldly anxieties to eternal matters, encouraging us to fear the right things – not tomorrow's uncertainties, but the state of our souls before a holy God. Yet, this fear is quickly relieved by God's grace and the precious promises He offers us. We're called to treasure these promises, guarding them against the enemy who seeks to steal our confidence in God's goodness. As we face the future, we're invited to partake in the divine nature, sharing in God's holiness and becoming more like Him. This incredible truth should empower us to live with confidence, knowing that we're united with Christ and equipped for whatever lies ahead.
At the start of the new term, Stephen Dawson brings a word of encouragement about unclogging wells from Genesis 26 and the story of Isaac reopening the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham.

Continuing from the Gospel, Luke seems to refer to the ascension three times. There's overlap as well as continuity between the start of Luke, its end, and the start of Acts. This period - the resurrection of Jesus - is clearly emphasised to show its importance to the birth of Christianity - the event that Luke is aiming to give an ‘orderly account' of. The resurrected presence of Jesus and the commissioning of the disciples (as well as their subsequent empowerment by the Spirit) is therefore key.
Throughout the month of November, we ran a giving campaign into caring for our city and the most vulnerable around us. The money given will enable the CARE team to deliver many initiatives we are involved in, in our local area
Across the month of June, together with churches in Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Ottawa, we will be giving towards continuing to help establish churches in key cities. We are committed to helping people find their way back to God, and starting new churches is something that we feel God has called us to.
Buried // 7 Joseph Rises to Power - Stephen Dawson // Genesis 41:37-57 by Emmanuel
In this talk, Stephen Dawson looks at how God intervenes in history and uses Joseph's situation to bring about a greater purpose beyond what anyone could have imagined. This is a reminder that God is in control, and His timing is perfect. We may not always understand why we're going through certain things, but we can trust that God has a plan and purpose.
This week we are joined by Stephen Dawson, Tim jones, Yohaan Philip and Rachel Jeffs as we unpack Sundays preach and discuss key questions that arise, such as "Why did Jesus have to be buried?" We also discuss topics such as forgiveness, and how and why we should forgive.
Joseph's betrayal at the hands of his brothers shows us how God works in the midst of difficult and seemingly impossible circumstances. Just as God was with Joseph every step of the way, even in the pit and in slavery, so too He is with us in our own trials and hardships.

A fantastic start for 2023 and our 5th season: Danelle and Brodie interview the Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy, Hon Stephen Dawson MLC. Growing up in Ireland, the eldest of four children, he moved to Australia in his teens with his family, and became involved in student politics. His father had been active in the union movement. Starting out as a drama teacher, Stephen Dawson became a Labor member of the upper house of Western Australian government in 2013 becoming a cabinet minister in 2017, and Innovation Minister in 2021. Minister Dawson talks about his hopes for the local innovation ecosystem, and what it needs now. "The ideas are here. The expertise is here now as well. We're growing it locally and we're bringing it in from overseas. But money, if we had more money here we could do so much more quicker. Part of that's my role, and we'll have some announcements over the next 12 months – hopefully the next budget will be good to us – but certainly working with people in Perth who have got money, convincing them how good an investment this will be, is important." ~ Minister Stephen Dawson For more: https://www.wa.gov.au/nif ~ * OFFER from sponsor Dinner Twist for Startup West listeners in Perth: so you can focus on creating the next unicorn, let Dinner Twist worry about dinner. WA's emergency services minister says local government will continue to manage local volunteer bush fire brigades. Stephen Dawson says the only exception to the rule would be if both the local government and the local volunteers collectively agree to handball responsibilities over to the state, under the management of DFES, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Renewables and clean energy have been a hot topic at the annual Pilbara summit on in Karratha this week.

Sin is like a grenade, that when it goes off, has all kinds of impact. But God is gracious and happily associates with the dysfunctional family and has them in His family line as His ancestors and us as His descendants.
Isaac is named among the 3 patriarchs, but in reality, his story is pretty unremarkable. Anything of note in his life is just a repeat of what has been done before by Abraham. But God uses the ordinary actions of ordinary people to carry out His extraordinary plan of blessing to the world.
Both Abraham's servant and Rebekah are examples of faithfulness, pointing us to the true Faithful Servant who said, ‘not My will but Yours' We see how God orchestrates and works through the normal circumstances of life for His higher purposes.
At first blush, James' compassionate last words might seem at odds with the robust way he has spoken to hypocrites (echoing his older brother) and called them to account for their double standards. What is different here? A ‘wanderer' is not a hypocrite pure-and-simple, not seemingly a self-deceived pride-filled God-hater but rather a bruised reed (and we know how the Lord feels about those…)

A multi-tiered wheat market has opened up in the last couple of weeks, with a huge spread in prices between top quality APW wheat and lower quality ASW. Prices ex Kwinana yesterday show APW was trading at $415 a tonne, while ASW was trading at $330 a tonne. That's a difference of $85 dollars and it's usually only a $10 to $15 difference. It's a sign the market believes a lot of low quality wheat is about to be harvested in Australia and it's sending a message that what it really wants is high quality wheat. The minister for Aboriginal affairs Stephen Dawson has refused a request for an interview on the ABC Country Hour to address concerns around WA's new Aboriginal cultural heritage laws and how it will affect the farm sector. The state opposition says lengthy delays to a business case for tier three rail lines could result in WA missing out on federal government funding to restore some of the lines.

After the global outrage at Rio Tinto's intentional destruction of Juukan Gorge, the state Labor government promised new Aboriginal Heritage legislation. Indigenous cultural rights would be respected. But the "new" heritage legislation may say all the right things except where it matters: amounting to no more than the repackaging of the old rights to mining companies. Aboriginal groups may remain effectively gagged. Thus far the Aboriginal Affairs Minister, Stephen Dawson, has declined to meet with the environment movement to listen to these heritage concerns. Archaeologist and heritage specialist Robin Stevens speaks frankly about how we got here, and what we need to do if our state is to genuinely support Aboriginal communities and respect and appreciate their cultural values. Chorus is undergoing some exciting changes to work more locally - to become less of a service provider and more of a facilitator in the community. In this episode we talk to Elli Moody, facilitator of inclusive art programs at Chorus, about the inspiring community engagement that is going on locally in Mandurah. “We try and have an annual exhibition each year, which is really about showcasing what our guys have been producing and getting it out there in the community,” says Elli. Elli and the Ability Arts team got involved in the Selfie Portrait Exhibition last year. They sent out a kit with a canvas, paints and paint brushes to various groups in the Mandurah community. “We could have done it just in-house with our customers, but we thought we'd throw it out to the wider community,” Elli explains. “It's really good for building some connections within the community. We had about 25 students from John Tonkin Ed Support Centre take part.” The team has a strong relationship with the City of Mandurah and have taken part in other community art projects, like painting the signage for the beach access equipment shed at Keith Holmes Reserve in Mandurah. “Our artists got together and started drawing beach sort of inspired illustrations, which we then put together into a design, which is now on the shed,” says Elli. Eight artists from Ability Arts took part in state-wide As We Are art exhibition last year. Potter Kylie Graham from the group won the won the sculpture award with her entry of Cinderella and Prince Charming. “She was just so excited and she actually received the award from Stephen Dawson, who is the Minister for Disability Services,’ adds Elli. It’s not all about art down at Ability Arts (although it mostly is!) The group love going on social outings too and last year funded some of their activities by signing up for Containers for Change. “When Containers for Change came out, we thought that would be a great opportunity to make some extra money,” adds Elli. “I think the Ability Arts really speaks to the multiple connections and how we really connect with the community down there,” says Louise. Dan agrees. “What we're trying to do in the Peel area and then beyond is replicate the sort of local way of working that we've heard about today in other places. And that's really the plan,” says Dan. Stephen Dawson continues our Story preaching series (going through Exodus) looking at the theme of Presence. Episode 65 - Shot in London, England 4/21/11 Crusader Raider Keith Smith hosts the 2nd of two videos shot in London, England. We continue the postgame celebration of the Leyton Orient Football Club victory that we started in Episode 64. Keith interviews several English Raider fans while we are having a few pints of Ale in the Leyton Orient Supporters Club....a great pub right in the stadium. We had a chat with Stephen Dawson, Captain of the Leyton Orient English Football Team (aka soccer). Keith recruited Stephen as an honorary member of the Raider Nation. After chatting with several others in the supporters club, we made our way to a neighborhood pub nearby, which had a nice outdoor drinking area. Keith headed up a discussion about travels to Oakland and San Diego in 2011 to watch the Raiders. One of the Raider fans celebrating with us at the pub, Richard the "Diehard Essex Raider", talked about his trip to Oakland for the home opener against the Rams in 2010.
