Time for the unofficial official 2015-16 Season in Review show for the Boston Celtics. It was still a bit too fresh from their loss to the Atlanta Hawks to do it two weeks ago, and there was still a lot to take away from that particular postseason series in the Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals. But now, it's time... Mike Gorman, Celtics play-by-play announcer returns to the show and joins LHR to run through the entire 2015-16 campaign on the 157th edition of Celtics Beat. The Celtics' voice will not just recap the entire season which began at this time last year with the off-season, but Mike will go through his off-season intuitions, pre-season predictions, in-season thoughts and other musings and thoughts that come to his mind when recapping this last calendar year. Mr. Gorman and LHR will shoot through what they felt was the turning point of the season, what was less-obvious things were accomplished this year, the wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, the early-season frustrations and why they were occurring, and they'll offer some final takes to the series against the Hawks as well as early summer predictions on who's coming and going That's not all, Celtics beat reporter Mike Walsh of CLNS Radio will discuss his featured column in the Celtics' loaded backcourt that ran on the website this week. What is the value of each Marcus Smart, Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley and what is the likelihood that they all return? Catch this week's episode of Celtics Beat. Scrap those five-point plans on getting Kevin Durant to the Boston Celtics this summer. There's still a bit of a wait-and-see game there with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the midst of a huge playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Playoffs. So until that series reaches a conclusion and if the Spurs can take care of business, the Thunder remain overwhelming favorites in keeping their superstar. So let's talk about what we have in front of us and that still being a fairly fresh, and wildly successful 2016 Celtics campaign in the NBA. This week, we'll get the red pen out and dish out report cards. Kyle Draper, host of Celtics Pre + Postgame live on Comcast Sports Net New England is today's only guest and he'll play the role of professor as he and LHR hand out their grades. Where did they agree and disagree? How much should injuries detract from the breakout seasons of Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk and Jae Crowder? Despite struggling in the postseason, can you give anything less than a straight A to Isaiah Thomas? What about James Young and the rookies? And is Jared Sullinger worthy of an ...F? Kyle and LHR go up and down the entire roster and even dish out grades to Coach Brad Stevens, Danny Ainge, and the fans! It's all on this week's episode of Celtics Beat. The Boston Celtics are off to a pretty average start. They're just 2-3 and even after Friday's big win against the Washington Wizards, no one yet knows who fits where or what works. Frequent Celtics Beat target Jared Sullinger put together a strong performance. Should he be the Celts starting power forward? That is our Facebook Question of the Week? Gery Woelfel, NBA Insider for the Racine Journal Times will return to the show. The Celtics need to find a way to tread water through November and December as they work around some kinks. On tap are the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. LHR will preview Boston's trip to Milwaukee with Gery and get the lowdown on the Bucks. Around the NBA is 5 as well. The Brooklyn Nets stink, so suffice to say, they'll be a topic. CHECK OUT ALL HD VIDEO VERSION OF CELTICS vs RAPTORS Player/Coach Locker Room Interviews Isaiah Thomas was hot again, but the Raptors' offensive firepower overwhelmed the cold Cs in the second half. BOSTON – The Celtics are making a run at the Atlantic Division this year, but they will be playing catchup to the Toronto Raptors after a dominant second half that led to a 113-103 win for The North. After some big praise from Brad Stevens pregame, DeMarre Carroll caught fire from deep in the third quarter en route to 10 points during a crucial 22-8 run starting at the 8:05 mark in the third quarter. While Isaiah Thomas fought back with 25 points (7-for-16 FG), the rest of the team couldn't hit a shot. The Celtics finished with a paltry 41.2% eFG to the Raptors' 50.6%. Isaiah Thomas drops 27 as Boston CHECK OUT ALL HD VIDEO VERSION OF CELTICS vs SIXERS PLAYER/COACH INTERVIEWS HERE Celtics down Philadelphia 76ers in Season Opener BOSTON – With all the attention on the Celtics' new players, it was last year's new addition Isaiah Thomas that continued his dominance Wednesday night. The Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 112-95 in the season opener at the TD Garden. Thomas had game-highs with 25 points on 9-for-18 shooting and 7 assists. Thomas was in full control of the offense, carving up Philadelphia's athletic but raw defense with his drive and dish game while leading a Celtics transition game that outscored the Sixers 26-7 in fast break points. Third overall pick Jahlil Okafor was unstoppable in his NBA debut, scoring 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting with 7 rebounds and a pair of blocks. His front court partner Nerlens Noel scored 14 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, snatched 3 steals and had a pair of rejections. Tyler Zeller started the game, but didn't return to the floor until the final lineup rotation of the game. Zeller was put in the torture chamber by Okafor in the first quarter. When Amir Johnson proved he could handle Okafor's deceptive body fakes, Stevens stuck with the new signing. The Garden Report's theme song is "Friends" by Teddy Roxpin. BOSTON - RJ Hunter fell in the draft this past June to the Celtics at the 28th pick. For such a successful player at the collegiate level with a game tailor made for the modern NBA game, Hunter is carrying a chip on his shoulder. "I've always been that little light-slinned, skinny coach's kid. So I've always had that attitude on the court." "That's somethat I need though," Hunter said. "If I don't have that, I'm not aggressive enough. I'm kind of passoive. So I think I always have to have that chip on my shoulder." Watch the playlist above for pregame interviews with Hunter, Jordan Mickey and Brad Stevens. Plus a bonus bizzarre interview with Brooklyn Nets coach Lionel Hollins, in which he makes one of the weirdest possibly-intentional jokes in recent NBA memory. The Boston Celtics are getting ready for a travel across the pond. Until the games begin, there's really only been one storyline and one question on the minds of Celtics fans since Media Day: What is Jared Sullinger's future with the Boston Celtics? It is also our Facebook Question of the Week. Bob Ryan returns for episode #125 of Celtics Beat. A special show requires a special guest. Bob and LHR will discuss the Sullinger situation before they drift unto more important matters like what Mr. Ryan expects from the team in 2016. Does he share the same concerns LHR does of Boston having too much depth? Around the NBA in 5 is back as well. That's what injuries to some certain bodies does. There may not be a lot to talk about regarding the NBA in August, but LHR has plenty on his mind with both Boston Celtics and NBA topics. Is one of them contrived? LHR seems to think so, as the primary story regarding the Celtics in August has been on whether or not the franchise should unretire jersies. The host doesn't have much to say about that, but it is our Reacht Question of the Week. But back to NBA talk: Sekou Smith of NBA.com will return to Celtics Beat as today's guest. The doldrums are here. Could that be shortened by lengthening the NBA season? And what else could the league do to cure what little deficiencies the league has? There are a few NBA storylines, so Around the NBA in 5 will make a triumphant return this week as well.
