Hoping you all are enjoying your summer so far. Happy to say that Penn and I are currently in full-on summer mode. After a very busy spring with our book tour, we've been lucky enough to squeeze in some beach time in between work, sports, camps, and college prep for Lola. Penn Charles capped off his busy spring with a celebration for graduating from 8th grade. PC was quick to remind us that this was “no big deal,” but we were excited to celebrate him. This sparked a conversation between Penn and me about what other milestones in your children's lives warrant a celebration (which was also a great walk down memory lane.) Summer is officially here y'all (I mean like it's BEEN here), and that means transitioning into summer mode. Yes, I studied abroad for like a month, but quite frankly it felt like an extension of the school year because I still had classes and homework and exams. I'm glad that's done and over with, especially because school gives so much unnecessary busy work. But I also find that I have a lot of extra time on my hands. Because before I would do school, work, and manage this podcast. But now I just work and manage this podcast. And my schedule literally revolved around school. So now that I don't have school, it just feels weird to actually have time on my hands to just sit and exist. How have I been handling that? Do I have any other plans this summer? Getting Back into Your RoutinesEpisode 133: Show Notes. As the summer draws to a close, today we'll be talking about getting back into our routines. As we get our kids ready for the school year, we believe that this is the perfect time to prepare ourselves for the rest of the year so we can finish strong. Whether you're not on track to meet your real estate goals or you've had an amazing year, there is still plenty of time to get back into your routine and set yourself up for a great end of the year and a great next year. Tuning in you'll hear about the importance of a morning routine that sets you up to generate leads, the holidays coming up in the last quarter that we need to plan for now, why you should be consistent with your lead generation activities, and how you can invest in your own personal development before the year is up. To hear the five action steps that you can take to get back into your routine and have a strong finish to the year, don't miss this episode!Key Points From This Episode: Today's topic: getting back into our routines as the summer comes to a close.  The importance of a morning routine that sets you up to generate leads.  Seeing the opportunities after the summer slowdown.  How you can apply getting prepared for the school year to getting prepared for your business.  The holidays coming up in the last quarter that we need to plan for now.   Encouragement that the year isn't over yet and we still have time to get some deals in the pipeline and closed.  Why you should continue to be consistent with proactive generation activities like seminars and informational content.  How you can invest in your own personal development before the year is up, such as the National Association of Realtors conference.   A reminder that you'll see the impact of these routines in your results.    Some action steps that you can take to have a strong finish to the year, starting with choosing a start and end time for your day.   Number two: define what work looks like for you. Number three: seek accountability. Number four: plan your marketing events for the remainder of the year. Number five: make a plan to grow or improve a skill.  Tweetables:“If you have been thinking, ‘Maybe I am not on track for my goals' or ‘I got a little sidetracked,' or maybe you've been doing amazing all year but you still want to finish strong, there is plenty of time for that, but you've got to get your routines back to set yourself up for a great end of year and a great next year.” — Renee Comey [0:01:52]“Think about what else you can start plugging into that your office does on a weekly basis that maybe you should get back into. Or a podcast that's released every week, like this one.” — Scott Comey [0:12:21]“You can enjoy it, you can gamify it, you can have a good time with these routines but, definitely, in getting back into routines, you'll see the impact in your results.” — Renee Comey [0:13:06]Links Mentioned in Today's Episode:Soul II Soul: 'Back to Life'Episode 111: Is your Scoreboard setup for success? Bachademia

Welcome to Bachademia! On Monday, the Bachelorette premiered with Katie as the lead! We are excited for a wild season. We do not have a guest with us today, just Danielle and Bill here. It is summer. We are in summer mode-- which means we don't have our shit together. But we are delightful and promise mildly witty commentary and a few academic-y facts for your listening pleasure.Question of the week? what is your go to ice cream flavor?Like a summer's day, the episode begins hot. Not really, I just thought that seemed like a clever transition. The episode begins with Katie talking about being chosen to be the Bachelorette and she explains what she is looking for. Bill, did any of this stand out to you? They show a quick sneak peak of the guys and then we cut to Katie waiting for the men to pull up in the limo. Nothing happens and then Tashia and Kaitlyn sneak up on her. There are a few things to note here:Thomas is the first out of the limo. The show really shows more tame entrances first. We have Thomas, Aaron, Andrew, and David. All a bit blah. Then we get a little bit silly with Miachel who pretends to give Katie a family heirloom and then Tre who has balls in the back of his truck. Greg is next. They have what I think is a pretty awkward interaction, she says that he looks like one of her exes. Eeeeeeh? Then a bunch of boring entries: John, Garett, Austin, Marty, Landon, Karl, Josh, Andrew came in an old car and then faked an accent that he claims is his alter ego. Brandon came in on a moped. I can't get over his entire vibe. That hair is a mood.  So the entrances start getting weird here: Kyle pulls out his underwear or something, Hunter appropriately given his name has a fish. Jeff has his camper. Marcus boring. Cody brings in a blow up doll. Justin and Christian come in with the sex puns.. Justin being a painter talks about strokin it, Christian wants her to rub one out or something about a genie. Quartney has a whole speech memorized with sex puns. Cat boy. Connor is dressed as a cat. The other men throw him shade. So after all the limo entrances (btw- we still have the dude in a box/present. I still don't get this) Katie goes in and welcomes the men. I felt like her speech compared to others, namely Matt's was very different. In fact, it made me realize how not compatible her and Matt were. She mentions that the Bachelor process is a weird one (she believes in it; but it is weird). Is the Bachelor process super weird? Who stood out to you during the after party? We have Thomas who was super serious. Greg who was a bit bumbling but seems genuine. Tre is awesome but do they have a romantic connection? Justin, the painter, goes in for a kiss. Jeff, who totally has an Owen Wilson vibe, skeezes her out with his dirty camper. DRAMA. What happened between Arron and Connor? I did not get any of that but it left me not trusting Aaron. James is the box. Seriously what did he hope to accomplish with this. Also, I know people find him handsome but I think he looks suspicious. Who went home: Austin, Brandon, Gabriel (he had weird vibes man; he was the long hugger), Jeff, Landon, Marcus, and Marty. Were any of these surprises for you?It seems like this season will get intense. BeBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Start for FREEInstacart - Groceries delivered in as little as 1 hour. We continue in glorious Summer Mode with what’s going well, what needs tweaking, and a self-care check-in.  Get an update on Maren’s pilates efforts and Angela’s reading habits.  We go on too long (if that’s even possible) about some favorite books, and we have a good laugh about Parks and Rec (the actual thing, not the tv show). We also dive into a listener question about curriculum and what we REALLY do. 37: Where We Plan Loosely 70: Where We Are Brave Writers With Julie Bogart Play Platoon Spider Web Tree Swing IRIS Terrarium We'd love your support on Patreon here. Summer is here so all four of my chicks are in one basket! While I LOVE this, I tend to romanticize the first few weeks of summer break… I picture us all eating a big breakfast together, then the kids hold hands and skip in the yard. Then, reality hits! Listen in as I share what I did differently this summer and how I plan ahead so everyone (including me) has some fun!

Are you in Summer Mode?  Join us as we kick off this new series with real talk about boredom, rhythm & reading and what that looks like in this season.  In Summer Mode, we’ll discuss what’s going well, what needs tweaking, and we’ll answer a listener question.  As always, we’ll share our LTWs throughout the summer.  Let’s do this summer together! Next week, we will be chatting about nature and the first few chapters of the book How To Raise a Wild Child by Scott Sampson.  We will use this book to guide our nature discussions all summer long.  Please join us but do NOT feel like you need to read the book, unless of course, you're interested. Carolyn Veit, Instructor - Reading, HACC York Campus, 6 September 2011, York CITE - Fall 2011 presentation series. Description: At the beginning of the semester, many students in our Fall classrooms are still in "Summer Mode". So how do you get them back on track to focus on the structure of college? This presentation will focus on strategies to overcome barriers that the disillusioned student brings to our classroom, thus improving retention. One of our most significant jobs as educators is to change those attitudes and help those students succeed. There will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions and discuss their own strategies.
