Christophe Bellon, historien et biographe d'Aristide Briand, éclaire les moments clés de la carrière de Briand, notamment son rôle dans la loi de Séparation des Églises et de l'État et son action pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Il partage également son analyse sur les qualités politiques exceptionnelles de Briand et le relatif oubli dont il a souffert auprès des historiens. Enfin, Jean-Michel Guieu, spécialiste de l'histoire de la paix dans le premier XXe siècle, met en lumière l'impact international de Briand. C dans l'air l'invité du 27 novembre avec Christophe Tison, journaliste et écrivain, auteur de "LSD, la nuit dont je ne me suis jamais sorti".Les 4 et 11 décembre sur Canal Plus Docs sera diffusée une série documentaire sur les addictions du quotidien, réalisée par Juliette Paquin. En quatre épisodes, "Demain j'arrête !" aborde la dépendance à l'alcool, au tabac, au jeu, et au sucre. Chaque épisode est incarné par une personnalité qui se livre : la danseuse étoile Marie-Agnès Gillot sur le tabac, l'animatrice Enora Malagré sur le sucre, le comédien Philippe Lellouche sur le jeu et Christophe Tison sur l'alcool. Elles ont vécu ces addictions, en sont sorties ou commencent à s'en sortir. A la fois auteur et acteur du premier épisode sur l'alcool, Christophe Tison est sobre depuis 19 ans. Il raconte sa descente aux enfers, lorsqu'il buvait de plus en plus, quotidiennement. Puis la prise de conscience de son état, et la façon dont il s'en est sorti. Il va à la rencontre de thérapeutes, mais aussi de sa famille et relate ainsi son combat, jour après jour.On y découvre à quel point dire "je suis alcoolique" est difficile". Avec 49.000 morts par an liées à l'alcool, c'est la 2e cause de mortalité évitable, après l'alcool. Et dans un pays si fier de son vin, l'abstinence n'est pas toujours facile socialement...et pas toujours réellement encouragée par les autorités. "Etre sobre c'est affronter la vie et ressentir le monde sans filtre dans toute sa violence et dans toute sa beauté" , affirme Christophe Tison à la fin du documentaire. Christophe Tison, journaliste et écrivain, est notre invité. Il reviendra avec nous sur son parcours du combattant pour sortir de l'alcoolisme, grâce aux groupes de parole, et à son entourage. We're in for a bit of fun as we look at games in the wizarding world and using games to bring the wizarding world to the classroom. Katy and Emily are joined by two more contributors to our book, Potterversity: Essays Exploring the World of Harry Potter. Laurie Beckoff, our producer, and Tison Pugh, Pegasus Professor of English at the University of Central Florida and author of Harry Potter and Beyond, both wrote chapters about games, with Laurie looking inside the series and back at medieval literature, while Tison looked outside the series at how to apply games in his Harry Potter course. Both Laurie and Tison come from a medievalist background, so we discuss the connections between Harry Potter and the Middle Ages, particularly magic and quests. They also see games - such as tournaments, Quidditch, and chess - as playing a significant role in both medieval romance and Potter, especially when it comes to character development, moving the plot along, and revealing the values of a society, as Laurie discusses in her chapter, "It's All Fun and Games Until...: Leisurely and Competitive Pursuits in Harry Potter and Chivalric Romance." In Tison's chapter, "Gamifying the Harry Potter Studies Classroom," he explains how he uses a House Cup tournament to engage his students, bringing team building and a bit of healthy competition into an educational environment. We look at performance in both chapters - how wizards and knights develop reputations and respond to their audiences as well as how Tison's students take on the traits associated with their Houses - and how power structures come into play or can be subverted.

Opportunity Zones 101   What are they? Where are they? Why are they important? How can they save real estate investors money?
