Tony Nicholson – Great British TV Quiz Shows...with TRE's Hannah Murray
In our most quizzical episode yet, we hear of Alun's audacious attempt to win the jackpot on the popular British TV quiz show Tipping Point. Running low on money but desperately trying to leave the UK to start a life in Canada, Alun was willing to pull out all the stops to earn the funds necessary to continue the trip. Applying to be a contestant on a TV quiz show is both daring and unorthodox, but this man had a plan, and he was ready to execute that plan to perfection. Stay tuned for the second half of the episode, as we introduce a brand new feature on the podcast... A little pop quiz of our own! Has Alun got what it takes to go the distance again? Good luck to those of you joining in at home! What wacky ideas have you come up with to save money? Do you have a travel story you'd like to share? We'd love to hear from you!

The time has come to say goodbye to yet another team in University Challenge. This time, the curtain falls on Birkbeck University, one of the highest scoring teams this series. Kudos to Strathclyde for another strong performance, particularly on starter questions. Listen to our thoughts on how Strathclyde could fare against Magdalene, Cambridge in their next outing, as well as some of our favourite questions on tennis championships, the French Revolutionary Calendar and Cole Porter. Stay tuned till the end for a woolly best-dressed.
This week sees our second confirmed team heading to the semi-finals. Balliol College, Oxford joins Warwick in what is shaping up to be a nail-biting conclusion to Series 50 of University Challenge. Balliol's contender this week, Durham, will have one final chance to secure their place in the semis. That said, this week brought the laughs and the quoteworthy moments this hoary old show is so beloved for. Stay tuned till the end for our famed best-dressed segment!
We are back to our regularly scheduled programming! Episode 26 sees the much awaited match-up between the Open University and Birkbeck, the only mature teams this series. Did both teams impress us as much as they did in their first round? Are age and wisdom the secret ingredients to winning it all? Did we confuse the garotte and the gavotte? Listen on till the end for the return of the best-dressed segment.
Let's see 2020 off with a mega quiz! Three teams, 30 questions..... who will come out victorious? Big thanks to Abe, Julia, Nabil, Mick, Steph and Jasper for competing!

Would you rather? Dirt Alert; Epic TV Quiz
A rather celebratory episode this week, as we congratulate Kelly on her passing the bar exam and becoming one step closer to becoming a lawyer. Topics this week include the amazing, supportive #LadyPodSquad community, the first female lawyer and the history of gender discrimination, and terrible Fall TV shows. Natalie tests Kelly to see if she can determine whether a show premiered in 1987 or is in the 2017 Fall TV lineup, based on its description.
