Tired of the uniparty in American government? Do you wish we had a better way to think about policy than labels like Democrat and Republican? Why should we have a negative income tax? Then listen to my interview with Lloyd Sloan and Andrew Cottingham, cofounders of The Center for Upper Left Policy. They've established a new political map that consists of only two questions. The call this the Equality-Freedom Model (EF). Depending on your answer you'll be placed in one of four quadrants: Upper Left, Upper Right, Lower Right, Lower Left. They believe this new way of thinking about politics will help shrink government, unite Americans, eliminate the uniparty that's destroying the United States. Andrew and Lloyd advocate for policies that address concerns in the upper left quadrant -which means shrinking government and fixing wealth inequality. Take the test and then let me know in the comments where you fit on the model! The EF Model Questions:Is wealth too unequal? Yes or NoIs government too big? Yes or NoWhere you rank:Upper-Left: Yes/YesUpper-Right: No/YesLower-Left: Yes/NoLower-Right: No/NoFollow Andrew Cottingham on Twitter @cottingham4ind https://x.com/Cottingham4IndKeep up with Lloyd Sloan on his website: http://lloydsloan.com/Follow The Upper Left Movement in America on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1143989963300259 REFERENCES:www.washingtonpost.com/politics/obamas-70-million-checks-per-month-actually-its-even-more-than-that/2011/07/26/gIQAT3XkbI_story.html

Is running for public office these days worth it? We take up that question and more with Seferiana Day, founding partner of the Seattle political consulting firm Upper Left Strategies. Day joins the Chino Y Chicano to talk about the challenges candidates need to consider. Along with fundraising, campaigning and making the case for election, candidates need to think about their safety and the impact on their family in a time when there is increasing incivility among the electorate. For over a decade, Seferiana Day has held leadership roles on campaigns and with elected officials at all levels. Day develops authentic campaign messaging, creates compelling mail and digital design, and leads community outreach to increase representation through public engagement. In 2021, Seferiana was named one of the 100 Most Influential Seattleites by Seattle Met Magazine.Read:https://www.courts.wa.gov/appellate_trial_courts/supreme/bios/?fa=scbios.display_file&fileID=gonzalezRead: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/mental-health/seattle-libraries-transit-branch-into-social-work-to-take-on-mental-health-drug-use/: Read:https://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/editorials/buoyed-by-poll-seattle-mayor-harrell-should-go-big-on-public-safety/Read: https://crosscut.com/news/2023/01/two-seattle-asian-american-community-newspapers-go-out-printRead: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/law-justice/leesa-manion-sworn-in-as-king-county-prosecuting-attorney/Read: The Best & Worst Awards for 2022https://i0.wp.com/nwasianweekly.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/04-05-Matt-and-Gei-1.jpgRead Marcus Harrison Green's Seattle's Times column about Black Youth suicide. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/mental-health/more-black-kids-are-dying-by-suicide-the-reasons-unfortunately-arent-surprising/

The Dundee Hills AVA in the Willamette Valley of Oregon is where it all started. Visionary winemaker David Lett planted Pinot Noir in 1966 and a march toward greatness began. In less than fifty years, the region went from humble beginnings to a world-class reputation thanks to natural inclination and a great deal of hard work.
