Scripture: Luke 1:26-38, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6-7, Daniel 7:14, 1 Samuel 16:7 In today's Scripture, we look at an incredible and great announcement from the angel Gabriel to Mary that she would be the mother of the Son of God, Jesus. In this season of Advent we also look with anticipation to the incredible and great announcement of Christ's return.  This will not be a quiet visit to just one person, this will be an announcement the whole world will see and hear! As we look at today's reading, the question for us is how will we react to the announcement of the Savior's birth? We can learn from Mary… The angel Gabriel came to Mary, saying, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you!” (Hold onto that word favored - we're coming back to that!) She was pretty shocked, but the angel said to not be afraid and he announces to her that she will conceive (even though she is a virgin) and have a son.  She is to name Him Jesus and he will be the Son of the Most High - His kingdom will never end. This child being announced is the long awaited Messiah! He is the fulfillment of the prophetic word all through the Old Testament. Call Him Jesus     1. Jesus = God Saves     2. Son of the Most High - God with us     3. Reign on David's throne     4. Kingdom will never end!! As the story continues, Mary asks how this could be as she is a virgin. The angel tells her that the Holy Spirit will come on her and the power of the Most High will over come her and that the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.  The angel concludes with, “No word from God will ever fail!!” What a great line! Sometimes that seems hard to believe, especially if we are going through a difficult time, but we have a clear word from God that His word never fails, that in the end all who trust in Jesus will share in His victory!  In the end WE WIN!  GOD KEEPS HIS WORD - no word from God will ever fail! But there's a word here that speaks directly to us today as we walk by faith in our Savior - “Why was Mary CHOSEN (favored) to be the Mother of Jesus?  Highly Favored     1. 1 Samuel 16:7 we learn that “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the HEART.”  God is concerned about the heart and that's the heart of the reason He chose Mary to be the mother of Jesus.  We want to have her heart. People look from the outside in, God looks from the inside out.     2. Devout (see Luke 1:46-47) - She knew God and His faithfulness     3. Humble (see Luke 1:48) The Lord noticed her humble state - she understood she deserved nothing from God, but she also knew God is good and everything good comes from Him.     4. Obedient (see Luke 1:38) Her reply to the announcement was, “I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled.” She was willing to go along with the divine plan. She takes this Great Announcement as God's truth!  Our Savior is coming to earth!  We want the Lord to look at our hearts and we want Him to see hearts that are faithful before Him: devout, humble and obedient. Our reaction to this Great Announcement is to respond in joy and thanksgiving and praise to the goodness and grace of God in Christ.  This is a “WOW” gift!  What an incredible announcement and living in response to it is an incredible way to live!! https://www.awakeusnow.com Check out the video on our website https://www.awakeusnow.com/the-greats Check out the video on Youtube https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTaaqrC3dMOwOsas957DiSUd6oyPPusju&si=aF1BhWGvhZyBvUVi Watch via our app. Text HELLO to 888-364-4483 to download our app.

Over the past three years, several seemingly frozen conflicts (Sudan, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Gaza, Armenia/Azerbaijan, etc) have broke out into hot conflicts that are challenging the current international order. There is, however, one of the longest standing potential flashpoints that has not entered the fray, but is listed as one issue that could embroil the world. That is the unresolved issue of cross-strait relations between the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC), also known as the island of Taiwan. For more than seventy years, the question of who controls Taiwan has simmered just under the surface of geopolitical tensions, as the PRC continues to claim control of Taiwan, while recognizing that reunification is necessary (the juxtaposition here is insightful). The ROC continues to maintain that the political status of Taiwan can only be decided by the people of Taiwan, who currently support maintaining the status quo (having their own democracy, while not openly trying to claim full independence). In this episode we speak with Director General Charles Liao of the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in Boston. As the US and Taiwan do not maintain official relations, they do not maintain an embassy or series of consulates throughout the US, so these offices act as the representatives of the ROC in the US. Listen to gain insights into the current state of cross-strait relations and how the ROC views their relationship with the PRC. This becomes increasingly important as the PRC continues to ramp up military drills surrounding Taiwan, increasing the chances for a miscalculation or accident that can lead to all out war. In an age where military might has returned to the global stage as a way to resolve conflicts, the question of Taiwan and how to encourage a diplomatic resolution remains one of the most important of the day.As mentioned in the podcast introduction, if you are interested in learning more about what foreign policy might look like as the United States enters a second term for President Trump, please watch our conversation with Dan Negrea of the Atlantic Council and co-Author of "We Win, They Lose: Republican Foreign Policy and the New Cold War". What You Need to Know is Ranked Choice/Instant Runoff Voting is bad news. Not only is this a terrible system that results in plurality victory (less than 50%) rather than true majority wins, but it fixes absolutely nothing about our current election issues. There  will still be nasty campaigning and vote tabulation that takes way too long. Plus, it's a darling of leftwing dark money groups that want to manipulate and maintain control for the elites through our elections. States need to say no to “ranked choice” or “instant runoff” voting systems on their ballots this fall.  Dan Negrea, author and foreign affairs expert, discusses his new book We Win, They Lose: Republican Foreign Policy and the New Cold War. President Reagan knew a detent with the Soviet Union wouldn't win the Cold War. If we take off the gloves and force Soviet communism to compete with American democracy, he thought, the U.S. will prevail. In a phrase: “We win, they lose.” He was right. The U.S. won. The Soviet Union collapsed. But in the decades since as America's role in the world diminished and the rules-based order decayed, Russia relapsed. And as he puts back the pieces of a shattered Soviet Union one illegal land-grab at a time, Putin is hardly the only despot hellbent on resurrecting an imperial renaissance in the shadows of American retrenchment. Also jonesing for a rise from the ash heap of history are the Islamist regime in Tehran and Chinese Communist Party in Beijing. Together with Moscow, they've formed a neo-imperialist axis to take on the West in a New Cold War. With the U.S. facing multiple nuclear-powered adversaries in a conflict for the first time ever, the second Cold War is shaping up to be far more dangerous than the first. With such high stakes, CWII's outcome will no doubt be a decisive chapter in modern history. The task of navigating the free world through this crisis falls on one desk (you know the one). And while he who will sit behind it remains uncertain, the possibilities can be narrowed down to two. Both have sat there before. So far, only one has a tailored roadmap for winning Cold War II, and it's based entirely on Reagan's playbook. The experts behind the strategy (AKA their new book: We Win, They Lose: Republican Foreign Policy and the New Cold War) are Matthew Kroenig and Dan Negrea. They join host Cliff May who has some questions for them.

Foreign Election Interference- Could the United States slowly be turning away from our best ally in the Middle East, Israel?  The Biden administration is putting enormous pressure on Israel to stop fighting the war that the terrorist organization Hamas started on October 7, 2023.  In a recent speech, Jewish Senator Chuck Schumer even advocated for the removal of Israel's sitting Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and for holding new elections in that country to find a more moderate government.  Online Opinion Editor for the Washington Times, Cheryl Chumley, gives us her expert take on what's really going on in this standoff.  Also, ... We Win; They Lose- Dr. Wendy Patrick and co-host Larry Dershem interview Dr. Matthew Kroenig about his new book We Win; They Lose: Republican Foreign Policy and the New Cold War.  What is the biggest threat against the United States today?  Is it China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, or is it a badly run U.S. foreign policy that's edging the world toward a tipping point of no return.  Be sure to listen to our mesmerizing interview with one of the top foreign policy experts in the United States today.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In their new book, "We Win, They Lose: Republican Foreign Policy and the New Cold War," authors Matthew Kroenig and Dan Negrea argue that a GOP foreign policy consensus is emerging, which they call the Trump-Reagan Fusion. They believe that any viable GOP foreign policy must build on the legacies of Trump and Reagan. The authors argue that the Trump-Reagan fusion is superior to progressive alternatives and can guide the GOP, the United States, and the American people to greater levels of peace, prosperity, and freedom. They also discuss the challenges posed by China and Russia, and the need for a strategic approach to these threats.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What You Need to Know is the Republican Party is moving in a renewed direction. The commanding victory for Trump in the GOP primary shouldn't be viewed as a cult following of personality. It's an understanding that the field of fight in American politics has changed. The Deep State has shown their hand, and we must fight to preserve not just our values but the very platform of liberty we have to speak our minds. We aren't trying to get a pop star in office - the movement behind Trump knows we're fighting to renew the Republican Party and America as well.  Dan Negrea, author and foreign affairs expert, discusses his new book We Win, They Lose: Republican Foreign Policy and the New Cold War. From China, to the Middle East to the Southern Border, this book and its authors cover a profound and urgent issue that faces our nation. Don't miss this fascinating and double-length segment! The Word for Everyday Disciples with Dave DeSelm

Are we living in the last days?Technically, we've been living in the last days for 2000 years, ever since the Day of Pentecost with the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy that “in the last days” God would pour out His Spirit on all people. (Acts 2:14-18)The real question we want answered is: Are we in the last days of the last days? Truth is…we just don't know. It's like a soccer match where you aren't even shown the clock. We have no idea how much time is left. The best we can do is say, “It's got to be close.”  This study of the book of Revelation is going to zero in on the last part of the last days. There are 2 Wrong Responses people have toward the book of Revelation: 1.     Obsession. We get so preoccupied with charts and timelines that we get diverted from the heart of discipleship and lose our evangelistic credibility.2.     Avoidance.  Many Christians have decided that the book of Revelation is too hard to even attempt to understand.  So, why study it?Here are 3 Right Reasons: 1.     Because it's in the Bible.  There is practical truth here for our equipping and we'll end up more mature as a church for having studied Revelation.2.     Because it provides a source of hope for tomorrow. You can summarize the book of Revelation in two words: “WE WIN!”  John wants us to know that whatever may come our way, in the end, we win!3.     Because it contains the promise of blessing for today. Revelation is the only book in the Bible that carries a promise of blessing for those who read it and take it to heart. The word “revelation” literally means “to unveil.” This book is nothing less than the unveiling of the magnificence of the Lord Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  It is hope unveiled.   Text: Acts 2:14-18; Revelation 1:1-8; Acts 1:6-8Originally recorded on January 9, 2000, at Fellowship Missionary Church, Fort Wayne, IN.

GUEST: SCOTT ANIOL, Professor of Pastoral Theology, Grace Bible Theological SeminaryAs we celebrate Independence Day, which commemorates the signing in 1776 of the Declaration of Independence, the founding document of our nation, when the original 13 colonies declared their autonomy from British colonial rule.John Adams was a signer of the Declaration, one of the framers of the U.S. Constitution (1789), and the second President of the United States. Likely not a born-again Christian but rather a deist (a believer in a supreme being who is uninvolved in the affairs of mankind), Adams wrote the following about the link between morality and civil society:“…should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation [pretending] towards one another…which assumes the language of justice and moderation while it is practicing iniquity and extravagance…while it is rioting in rapine [violent seizure of property] and insolence [rude behavior], this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world; because we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”We are seeing John Adams' warning prove true in America today. We are at a low point in our nation when laws are passed granting the “freedom” to kill a child anytime during the nine months of pregnancy, when the “degrading passions” of homosexuality are normalized and codified as “marriage”, when adults parade openly and lewdly down the streets in front of children, and when children are led into the sin of cross-dressing and physical mutilation in the name of “gender affirming care”.Wicked depravity is now tolerated and affirmed in our nation and the predictable results are division, confusion, chaos, violence, harm, and hatred. So what are Christians to do, who like Lot living in Sodom “felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds” (2 Peter 2:8)?Most Christians would say that our nation desperately needs to reclaim our Biblical foundations and establish laws and policies based on the truths of Christianity. But how would that take place? Is that Scripture's call for Christians and the church to work to “Christianize” government? This weekend on The Christian Worldview, Scott Aniol, editor-in-chief of G3 Ministries and professor of pastoral theology at Grace Bible Theological Seminary, joins us to discuss “Christian Nationalism”, a term that means different things to different people. To some Christians, it means electing representatives who advocate for biblical principles in government. Other believers see it as a biblical mandate to work toward Christian rule over government and all institutions in society. While non-believers view it as religious extremists trying to institute a theocracy and oppress non-believers.Join us for a discussion on Christian Nationalism and what Bible says about Christians and government.---------------------------------------RELATED ARTICLES:The Mixed Blessings of a Christian NationChristian Faithfulness: The Biblical Alternative to Christian NationalismWhat if We Win? The Seventh Seal Dr. Richard Ruhling pt 2 We have been sharing a lot of information lately, concerning the “end times” as depicted in the Bible and relating that to what we see happening in current events on the evening news. When you compare side by side, you can't help but see the similarities. To help bring us a more thorough perspective on this, Dr. Richard Ruhling has been sharing some deep insights into the opening of the “Seven Seals” from the Book of the Revelation. We have already covered seals 1-6 in prior episodes. Today, he will be discussing Seal #7. The final seal. If you missed any of the other episodes, you can find them in the archives. But for right now, help me welcome back to the program, Dr. Richard Ruhling. Dr. Ruhling, it is a blessing to talk with you again about this important subject. This is part two of an amazing two part interview! When we look at the Book of the Revelation and we are discussing the End Times, most people will reference scriptures like Matthew 24 where Jesus was asked about the “end times and the end of the world.” He pointed us to the fulfillment of Daniel chapter seven. Can you clarify for us how Daniel seven relates to what we are talking about concerning the timing of the end days? We discusses some of this before, but I want to emphasize it again. Why did the Catholic Church change the Sabbath Day from the 7th Day to the 8th Day? All of this relates to the Jewish calendar system. How does our current calendar fit into this picture? Or does it really matter? You have been sharing with us, in prior interviews, about the “2nd Passover event.” Can you explain the importance of that event for us? I believe we have discussed privately that this episode will be released the first week of May in 2023, which coincides with the “2nd Passover event” and what we should be looking for as it approaches? Dr. Ruhling, again,  you've given us a lot of information to think about, pray about and to ponder. If someone wanted to reach out to you, to ask a question or maybe to do an interview such as this, how can they do that? How can they get in touch with you? I'll put links to all of this in the show notes below. Folks, the “signs of the times” are all around us. So much so, many people are becoming numb to the news. You have to get into the Word of God, study it and see for yourself just how close we are to the “soon return of Jesus.” This is not going to be a “peaceful transition of authority” in the earth. This is not going to happen with all of sing “In the Sweet, Bye and Bye” and “cumbia's.” This is going to be a violent, upheaval of society as a whole. This is going to the devil's final stand and he is not going to go away peacefully. But, as Dr. Ruhling has been sharing all along with us, WE WIN in the end… Amen!  Actually, JESUS wins and gives to us the Victory!  Praise God. But there will be bloodshed and lives lost and it will not be pretty. But we have a promise, “He that endures to the end shall be saved.” That does not mean our material things will be saved. It does not mean our physical lives will be saved. It DOES MEAN, our Spirit man, the REAL YOU, will be saved – IF you do not waiver. Amen! Drop down into the

As part of the foundation, I want to ask you… at the time of this recording, there were violent clashes on the Temple Mount yesterday. Did you see any information on that? Do you think it is a coincidence that this is happening almost exactly like you have been sharing with us concerning a build up to something “big” happening in Jerusalem? How do you see this affecting us here in the United States?  We used to SUPPORT Israel, but under the current administration, we've done everything we can to isolate Israel… Back on our topic for today… In Genesis, we see God making the human, “male and female.”  But we do not see the feminine aspect of the Trinity in the Bible. Are we missing something? Doesn't the Bible say that the “Bride of Christ” is the Church? Folks, the “signs of the times” are all around us. So much so, many people are becoming numb to the news.
