Would you love to know how to go from being $70,000 in debt to being debt-free in 10 months? That is exactly what today's guest did! Kat Cozadd is a Money Mindset & Manifestation coach who specializes in helping people heal the root issue that is causing their problems and get results quickly. She is also MY manifestation coach! If you have been listening to the podcast, you have heard me mention my coach and the awesome affirmations she gave me, such as ‘the better it gets, the better it gets.' That is why I am SO excited to introduce you to her today! In this episode, Kat shares her own journey from being in a downward spiral to turning her life around very quickly using Intentional Manifestation. She eliminated $70,000 in debt in ten months and hit six-figures in the first year of her business, and then doubled it the next year. I truly believe success is a healing journey, and I hope you find inspiration for your own journey in today's episode.    Key Learnings: 1. Intentional Manifestation takes the principles of manifestation, that our thoughts and subconscious beliefs create our reality, and expands it with the power of intention. 2. Kat was able to turn her life around very quickly using intentional manifestation. She eliminated $70,000 in debt in ten months and hit six-figures in the first year of her business, and then doubled it the next year.  3. Traditional approaches to manifestation didn't work for Kat, like saying affirmations she did not believe. It wasn't until she began to dive into healing modalities, such as nervous system regulation, Holotropic breathwork, and other body-based therapies, did she realize that she never fully felt safe. Creating a sense of safety has been crucial for her manifestation journey, and something that she teaches the women she coaches. “The better it gets, the better it gets.” Kat Cozadd, Money Mindset & Manifestation Coach Check out Kat's podcast, the No Bull$h!t Manifestation Podcast Connect with Kat on Instagram  @katcozadd If you love the image on the wall behind me of Mother Mary Blessing the World, you can order your own museum quality copy at www.deepaliu.com

— Holotropic Breathwork is based on the belief that each of us is guided by our own intrinsic wisdom, and that the opportunity for healing past traumas of the physical and/or emotional body or opportunities for opening a new doorway to creative flow lies within us - always available - as we become more aware of our natural ability to awaken to our authentic selves and our highest potential. Journeying in this expanded state, our psyche allows select biographical, transpersonal or mythological/spiritual material from our internal landscape to float to the surface of our conscious mind. As we feel safely supported, we are more likely to give ourselves the space and permission to work with and integrate this material for deeper understanding. The term ‘holotropic' means “moving toward wholeness.” Valeria interviews Yulia Meshoyrer  — She is a Russian-born distinguished Grof-certified Holotropic Breathwork facilitator dedicated to the transformative technique developed by Stan and Christina Grof.  Her extensive qualifications include an MA degree in General Psychology from Russia and an MA in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University. The Breath Work Experience Did you know that the power of your breath can alter your state and your body's chemistry? The Breath Work Experience is a series of 15-minute guided breathing sessions facilitated by trauma informed breath work coach & ceremonialist, Nicole Zimmermann.   What is Holotropic Breathwork? Holotropic breathing, also known as holotropic breathwork (HB), is a practice that involves managing and speeding up your breathing patterns in order to influence your mental, emotional, and physical states. And before we dive into how I can help you, I want to share a little bit of my journey with you.I too have struggled most of my life to build a loving relationship with myself. I've spent so much time searching for validation outside of myself, constantly trying to be something I'm not, constantly hustling for my worth, constantly playing small. This all stemmed from one undeniable truth: I didn't love myself or know how to cultivate love within myself...I didn't even know where to begin. This lack of self-love led me down a tumultuous road-- a road of numbing out and attempting to escape myself every chance I got. I fought a long battle of eating disorders and addiction. I then entered an industry that only exacerbated all of this. I may have looked okay on the outside, but inside I was slowly dying. Inside I was exhausted, disconnected, empty, and unwilling to face any of my feelings.I knew I wanted more out of this life, I knew I wanted to be of service, and somewhere deep down in my soul, I knew I had it in me...I just had absolutely no idea how to get there.  I realized that I had to go deeper into my own internal experience and heal the parts of myself that were driving the internal pain; I decided that in order to finally be at peace with myself I had to finally face the parts of myself that I had been avoiding for my whole life. Holotropic breathwork, developed by Stan and Christina Grof, [BP1] was developed as a method to induce altered states of consciousness after LSD was made illegal and therefore no longer available. Christine Calvert is a certified Holotropic Breathwork facilitator who discusses the history and development of holotropic breathwork and how it is related to psychedelic-assisted therapy. With decades of experience, Christine highlights the importance of supporting the inner wisdom of clients and being non-intrusive as a facilitator. We also discuss the importance of doing one's own work before taking on the role of facilitating altered states of consciousness and the value of group formats for collective healing experiences. Notes from episode:The role of preparation. The importance of subtly tuning into the inner healer, the breath as a vehicle for tapping into our innate capacity to heal and to be whole. Why you may never hear the phrase “Happy Birthday” in the same way again. Group formats for altered states of consciousness, the collective inner healer, participate in healing in the collective spaceThe sitter role is simply to witness. The simple experience of being witnessed by another human being. Something happens in the group space that can't happen in the solo place. This is how we used to heal, how our ancestors knew how to do it. As long as we always remember that we are apprenticing to the medicine, to this space, that is a great posture to remind us to always do our own work. If we continue to do our own work, there is at least a relationship with accountability and self honesty, or at least a capacity to stay in relationship with that. Practice: write down everything that I am bringing into the space before doing a facilitator. Helpful to get into right relationship in my body, monitoring my own need for intimacy and connection, etc. “The facilitator is the most important person in the room, and is not important at all.” – Teacher saying“People here not because of us, but in spite of us.”We are the support staff to the inner wisdom, essentially. Christine Calvert (teacher and module facilitator) is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a certified Holotropic Breathwork® facilitator. She is the founder of Tribe, a conscious sober living home for men in Austin, TX, focusing on a transpersonal and Holotropic approach to recovery and healing. In addition to bringing Holotropic Breathwork® and other experiential workshops to mental health and addiction facilities, she is passionate about the ethics and integrity needed in facilitating expanded-state work; supporting the integration of Holotropic and psychedelic sessions through somatic resourcing; and creative expression, personal ritual, and group support. Her own personal healing journey was greatly influenced by the Holotropic perspective and she feels deeply dedicated to sharing this work with those seeking healing. She enjoys finding ways to weave her personal and professional experience of different therapeutic and spiritual systems such as Shamanism, Somatic Experiencing, Jungian psychology, attachment theory, and mindfulness practices into her work with others. Christine is currently studying to become a Naturopathic Doctor and maintains a private counseling and consulting practice in addition to facilitating Holotropic Breathwork® nationally.

Nellah was born in a small town in Central Slovakia.  She always excelled in academic and extracurricular activities, listened to her parents, and strived to conform to societal rules and labels.  Her passion was dance and, by the age of sixteen, she was managing her own dance group and leading personal and group training.  Later in life, she was mesmerized by spirituality, and, with the guidance of a psychologist, she began practicing various techniques including meditations, breath work, Holotropic breathing, and energy work.  After the fall of communism, she decided to try her luck and enter the world of big money, the entertainment industry.  She traveled to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and Japan and gradually became a dancer in gentlemen's clubs where she stumbled into a life of substance abuse, trauma, and superficiality.  After a near-death experience, she made a sudden decision to leave the industry.  To survive and pull herself out of the darkness, she seized an opportunity to relocate to the United States, intending to change her life.  She worked through the language barrier and speech difficulties to complete a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology, constantly transforming and improving herself.   Over the years, she has done significant mental and spiritual work by herself and with her clients, mostly focusing on victims and perpetrators of crimes.  She practices various psychological methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectic behavior therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and flooding.  The lack of spirituality led her to start a coaching practice where she combines a therapeutic approach with meditation, breath, and energy work.  After years in the mental health field, she realized that her biggest asset is her and her approach to people, not the methods she mastered.  She loves people, the regular and the edgy ones.   Her biggest passion is writing.  It comes naturally to her-she just has to take a pen and write.  She writes everything, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or movie scripts.  In her writings, she often discusses sensitive topics that are mostly considered taboos.  Her book “A Stripper:  From Japan Through Switzerland Into the Deepest Secrets of Her Soul” paints a picture of the reality of the entertainment industry as it pertains to club dancing and sex work.  It is her memoir that represents thousands of untold stories of women and men in the industry.  The book transports a reader to the seedy environment of nightclubs, overflowing with promiscuous entertainment outlets, dark corners of erotic manifestations, and the superficiality of it all.  It is not just a sensational expose of a young woman gone astray, it also touches upon sexism and societal pressure which manipulates women into these precarious roles. The story sheds light on the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes that develop as a result of this type of work and reveals traumatic experiences that go hand in hand with substance abuse.  Most of all, it unveils the rotten core of the industry that benefits from the oppression and degradation of women and men.  A place, where money is more than human life and people are treated as commodities.  Nellah clearly shows the mental, emotional, and physical damage caused by this line of work and offers guidance on the way out because transformation is possible.  She questions the sole purpose of the industry and its tremendous impact on the whole society. A system that causes damage to people who can be sold, beaten, raped, or killed simply should not exist.  Together we can make a better world for future generations, a world where human life is valued more than money.   https://www.facebook.com/nella.mrazic?mibextid=ZbWKwL  https://youtube.com/@talkaboutit9846  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYC54YM5  nellahmx@gmail.com  https://nellahmx.wixsite.com/nellahmx

Breathing. It's something we do thousands of times per day, and yet we never think about it. Yet, it obviously plays a vital role in our daily lives. Something as simple as breathing more deeply, rather than shallow, can make a tremendous impact on your life. In this episode, Adam sits down with Joanna Krysiak, a breathing expert specializing in well-being and stress management. With her extensive certifications in breathwork techniques, Joanna is highly sought after by ambitious people struggling with chronic stress, anxiety, sleep issues, emotional blocks, and overwhelm. As a breathwork facilitator and functional breathing coach, she helps individuals improve their health, find inner peace, and cultivate a sense of calmness in their daily lives, even if they have struggled in the past. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: Joanna's passion for health and fitness How breathwork changed her life The power of breathwork to get in tune with your emotions Breathwork as a tool for personal growth Reconnecting with the breath to relieve stress and anxiety Breathe to thrive, not survive Different kinds of breathwork modalities Understanding the paradox of oxygen and carbon dioxide in breathing Breathing NLSL (nose, light, slow, and low) A breathwork exercise Episode Highlights: [10:12] Embracing the Strength in Emotional Vulnerability Before breathwork, Joanna saw emotions as weakness, suppressed them and caused pent-up stress. Through breathwork, she transformed into embracing her emotions and recognizing their strength. Her story resonates with those who have suppressed emotions, leading to destructive outcomes. Joanna highlights the importance of acknowledging emotions and recommends breathwork for navigating trauma and emotional challenges. [12:49] Breathwork as a Tool for Personal Growth Breathwork is a powerful tool that can support us in various ways, but it's important to understand that it's not a magical solution for all our problems. While it may not fix everything, breathwork can help us navigate and find relief from any problem we face. It's crucial to seek professional help when going through difficult times, but we can also empower ourselves by utilizing our breath. Breathwork serves as a valuable tool for personal growth and self-care. [14:04] Breathwork to Relieve Stress and Anxiety During times of stress, anxiety, and depression, it is common to feel disconnected from our bodies, avoiding any bodily sensations. However, the breath serves as a powerful tool to reestablish this vital connection. By simply focusing on our breath, we can experience liberation and a newfound sense of freedom and calmness within our bodies. This reconnection addresses the root cause of fear, anxiety, and depression, offering a pathway toward healing and emotional well-being. [23:33] Types of Breathwork Modalities Pause breathwork - This is the modality that Joanna first tried and became certified in. It is a variation of Holotropic breathwork but has a trauma-informed lens. Conscious hyperventilation - Techniques like Holotropic breathwork, Wim Hof breathwork, and pause breathwork involve consciously hyperventilating to lower CO2 levels in the body. This can help release trapped emotions and access deeper states of consciousness. Reduced volume breathing - Methods like Buteyko breathing aim to raise CO2 levels in the body by breathing more gently and lightly. This can increase tolerance for stress and train the nervous system. Physiological sigh breathing - The technique Joanna demonstrated involves a two-part inhale through the nose and a long exhale. Can be done for relaxation or to release emotions. Top/bottom breath holds - Briefly holding the breath after inhaling or exhaling to circulate energy or relax the body. What many listeners may not know is that Psychedelics Today was created because of the lack of attention being paid to breathwork, transpersonal psychology, and the work of Stanislav Grof, so this episode serves as a deep dive into all the facets of our fascinating ability to reach psychedelic states simply by breathing in specific ways. They discuss the history of breathwork; the various methods (box breathing, alternate nostril breathing, rebirthing breathwork, the Wim Hof method, Holotropic and Transpersonal breathwork, etc.); early and most powerful experiences; why Joe recommends becoming familiar with breathwork before a first psychedelic experience; how a breathwork practice can help enhance psychedelic experiences; and one of the most amazing things about breathwork: that it can give people a sense of agency they may never have felt before – that they can produce these experiences and insights with nothing but their own bodies. Ultimately, the conversation is about how to adapt and thrive in uncertain times. They will touch on such topics as:Pivoting to remote coaching during the pandemic, Gunther's thoughts on when the pandemic happened, and the challenges in his business and technology such as utilizing the Trainerize app.The benefits of remote coaching versus in-person coaching, creating an exercise library for clients and getting back to in-person coaching for the first time in three years. What he's currently doing with his marketing and content creation: “Positioning yourself as an expert in biomechanics and empowering people to understand why they are doing what they do is a peek behind the curtain.”Holotropic breathwork and its benefits, and how this has helped him as a business owner: “Breathwork is grounding and helps us feel more confident, and daily breathwork must be a common daily practice.”The distinction between stress and the new kind of stress experienced during the pandemic, as well as why walking is so beneficial in overcoming this, and how to get back on track and narrowly focused.Moving on to assisting other coaches in doing what he does, such as retention and sales, and why sales are uncomfortable and how to overcome them: "Sales are uncomfortable, sticky, and forceful, but it is actually a really easy process.” Hack: There's a grander purpose as to why I'm kind of taking on this little chunk of my work in person. And it's to replicate a process, to rebuild a system, and to teach others. - Gunther Klaus P.S. Why are religious and mystical experiences important to our sense of meaning and purpose in life? What is a spiritual emergency and how can it actually help us in the long run? Are transpersonal experiences illusions of the mind or can they tell us anything about the nature of reality? In this episode, we have the extraordinary topic of Transpersonal Psychology to learn about. With the steady rise in popularity of western secular spirituality, meditation, psychedelic research, altered states of consciousness and embodied practices in general, during the 60's some psychologists felt there was a part of psychology missing from the old humanist and behaviourist models. It was as if the overwhelmingly materialist scientific view of humans, that sees our bodies and brains as fundamentally separate from other beings, the natural world and any hypothetically transcendent reality, was missing out a huge source of data about the way our minds work. So a bunch of them coined a new term, Transpersonal psychology, and with it came a new field of study and practice.  It's a really wide field and at its cusps starts to get into areas that science can't actually study using the method; some of which we're going to touch on towards the end of this episode. But above all it makes a place for the importance of the transpersonal that crosses those boundaries between our bodies and brains and everything else out there, both known and unknown. So fortunately today's guest has over 25 years of experience both as a psychologist and a workshops leader, David Lukoff. Dr. Lukoff has published over 80 articles on spirituality and mental health, and is an active workshop presenter internationally on spiritual competency, grief, death, recovery, and spiritual crises. He is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the Sofie University, previously known as the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, in CA and previously served on the faculties of Harvard University and UCLA. He is also the co-founder of the Spiritual Competency Academy, that offers mental health professionals courses on the skills and knowledge to become more spiritual competent. Since then, she has been on a quest to explore the wisdom of the body and the intrinsic healing orientation of the psyche. She worked with Dr. Deborah Mash at Healing Visions, an early Ibogaine clinic in the British Virgin Islands and certified as a Holotropic Breathwork facilitator in 2005. She worked closely with Stanislav Grof for over 13 years. In this episode, we delve into Stacia's personal journey into this work, her experience with breathwork versus psychedelics, and the importance of set and setting in creating a safe and supportive environment for healing. We also discuss how she creates and uses an environment for integration after the breathwork sessions, and why Esalen, in particular, is such a significant place for integration.

I was born in a small town in Central Slovakia. I was a straight-A student who listened to her parents and worked very hard on fitting into the “box” of societal rules and labels. My passion from an early age was dance and aerobics. By the age of sixteen, I was managing my own dance group and gave aerobics classes on a daily basis. Dance and performing on the stage in general came with challenges. Men would always notice my looks and compliment my body more than my dancing skills.     As I got older, I could not sustain regular income with dance and aerobics. After the fall of communism, the borders opened and hundreds of girls from former Eastern European block flooded the “rich” Western countries to work as models, companions, strippers, escorts, or prostitutes.   I took a chance to make the big bucks. It turned out to be something very different than I expected. My first destination was Greece, then came Japan, Germany, Italy, Austria, Iceland, and Switzerland. Switzerland was the last, that's where I reached the rock bottom. I was completely sucked into the world of sexual favors, alcohol and drugs, and emotional/mental numbness.   Once, I fall on the stinky carpet in the dressing room of my club and could not get up. My body stopped listening to my brain; I had no strength to pick myself up. I knew that if I did not get out of it, I would die. It scarred the shit out of me and left. I had no plans for the future, no people who understood, no mental or physical strength. I returned home. I knew I had to change everything, including myself.   I had an opportunity to come to the U.S. and I took it. First years of my transformation were terrible; I could not get up in the morning, I had to stop drinking alcohol, specifically expensive champagne, I had to work through my traumas, and watch myself and my behavior…it was hard to stop flirting with men, getting their attention, and expecting money for every little thing.   I went to college to study forensic psychology and got my first big job – a psychologist in a prison, a perfect test of my boundaries and ability to work with men without giving them a chance to get too close. Over the years, I've done tons of spiritual work, by myself and with my clients.   I am familiar with CBT, DBT, REBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, meditations, flooding, relaxation exercises, Holotropic breathing…after years, I discovered that my biggest asset is me, not the methods I use. Because of that I started couching.   Nella's book UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BYC54YM5 Nella's book US https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYC54YM5   FB Profile: https://www.facebook.com/nella.mrazic   Your Host Karen Roberts At Mintwave Radio Station and the 'Raising Vibrations' podcast network on Podbean, we provide a comprehensive range of services to coaches, consultants, therapists, healers, and experts who want to share their message with a wider audience. This episode is the third and final episode of a mini series where I talk to three people who have been helping me bring about changes in three key areas - movement, sleep and breath. In this episode I talk with Breathwork facilitator, Satori Clarke. Satori is Head of Research at Breathwork Bali, and Co-Founder of it's BreathLab, and I've been working with her doing one-to-one Breathwork sessions for the last 8 months of so. I've found it a really beneficial practice for me in many ways, including helping me learn to regulate and trust my nervous system, and allowing me to tap into states of rest and relaxation that I struggle to access otherwise. In this episode, we discuss breath and its power to change the way the nervous system functions, which can in turn alter which parts of our brain and more online.  Satori explains how when we bring conscious awareness to our breath, it will begin to re-pattern our body and how it functions, and the more that we practice it, the more our body will access it unconsciously.Satori talks me through the different diaphragms we have in our body that assist breathing, and we also discuss various different breathing techniques (cadence breathing, conscious connected breathing, Holotropic breathing etc) and the benefits and states each one can bring about. I noticed that I'm a lot kinder to myself about certain emotions. And then I also noticed that there are other emotions where I can beat myself up still. Then I'm just noticing the judgment that's still there. And like, okay, like, this is still here. This is something that, I can still work on, but then it's almost like not judging myself for the judgment. So can be a few layers there. Thoughts on Breathing That's a good one. Because I do think breath can help us a lot with sex. Oftentimes, in bed or not, we can kind of tense up and almost be holding our breath. And a lot of people tend to do that leading to orgasm, especially if you're somebody who maybe struggles with orgasm. Try deep breathing, try relaxing your muscles a little bit, and just see how the energy flows with that. Sex and Consciousness But with me, I've done all sorts of different breathing. I've done some, like Holotropic breathwork workshops that I've attended. I've gone through periods where I do the Wim Hof YouTube video in the morning. Dr. Andrew Weil has the 4-7-8 breathing technique for relaxation. Sex I noticed when I'm stressed, my breathing is more shallow and tense. And it's like a clue to me, like a signal that I can relax a little more. Suggested Resources Book: No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with the Internal Family Systems Model Dr. Andrew Weil The 4-7-8 Breathing Technique App: Dipsea Stories  App: Quinn Bullying Story I've seen this more than once, where one partner is kind of pestering, coercing or manipulating their partner to have sex with them. Now that you're kind of bringing mindfulness to it. I actually think that's a huge component because one of the main reasons I got into sex therapy is because I think the way the culture is, there's a lot of shame and stigma around certain aspects of sexuality. Sex and Consciousness It could actually think male, bisexuality is one of those. I think there's a lot of men who have interest in some other men, but you know, are kind of told like, No, you're either gay or straight. There's no woman who can be bisexual. So I think that when there's an area of shame or stigma, or when someone's feeling hurt, and rejected, and maybe doesn't have the capacity, or the training or the skill set to be with that because I think mindfulness is a lot of that is being with whatever your experience is, they kind of gets more emotionally reactive. Sex and Consciousness And I think that's where sexual bullying can come in. So I think if people are able to develop the capacity to accept themselves, to not judge their own sexuality, to not take their partner's maybe lack of interest personally, and you just see that, like, that's what's going on in their mind, you know, looking away that has nothing to do with you. And to process any hurt that you have without judging it. I think that's huge. So I feel like when you do that, it really frees you up to have great sexual communication, which is, you know, another topic on my early podcast. Because it's key, it's like, if you can communicate well about sex, you're gonna probably have a pretty good sex life. So emotions are how I am actually thinking about feelings. So how I'm dealing with life is actually by looking at my feelings, the sensations in the body, and processing that instead of the story that I tell myself about what that feeling means. And that's how I'm able to actually be with the experience. Thoughts on Breathing Breathing is super important; when we stopped breathing we die. So it's kind of a big deal. I have learned so many different techniques for breathing. And I know that nowadays, I see much more of the Holotropic, faster briefing that is really popular, I am much more inclined in my own practice, to the slowing down of the breath. One of the main practices for me has been to change the way that I'm breathing by allowing breathing through nose and mouth at the same time in and out, and to be able to slow it down so that it goes to a place that is settled.  So, for example, like, as a practice, it was breathing in, in and out for at least 20 seconds each of them. So breathing in for 10 seconds, breathing out for 20 seconds. And then sometimes, the box breathing, which is the same length for the inhaling, holding, exhaling, and call them. I think that the most important thing about breathing for me is to actually implement it, and try it out. If you're listening to this, you can implement it. You can do that whilst you're listening, which is the key to the practice of working with the breath. We can use it as long as we are doing anything else. Living Consciously Thoughts on Meditation Meditation is about the state of being. I understood at one point in my practice when I was sitting for many, many hours, that I wasn't getting into this place where my experience shifted. And when it shifted to that place, I felt peace and stillness, and an openness of awareness. And due to the nature of the practices that I was doing in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, a lot of it is about bringing the teachings alive. I was studying to play an experiment, how can I bring that experience to that state of being throughout the day? Living Consciously Regardless if I am sitting or not, regardless if I have my eyes closed or not. Nowadays, it's about keeping that state of being with everything that I'm doing, I'm talking to you now, and keeping that awareness, I am then going to see a client, I'm giving that away, and I'm going to go to university, then I'm going to give that awareness. Everything that I'm doing is just about that. And of course, I lose that, at different moments, I am not enlightened. So I'm going to catch myself and come back to it. And yes, sometimes that means centering back by sitting down just as taking a moment. Yet, because of the fact that I have purposely chosen to live my life a little bit slower, I don't lose that as much as I used to. Because I am not going so fast that perhaps I do lose sight of it so I can stay in that state. And yes, every single day, I still do my sitting meditation, and I still do my movement meditation. And I use a lot of sound meditation and we use a lot of sound healing as well, and vibration to get to that place. And when I am also sharing that, I get that for myself. So whenever I'm sharing, teaching, and facilitating, that's also for me. Living Consciously Suggested Resources Book: Gesture of Balance: A Guide to Awareness, Self-Healing, & Meditation (Nyingma Psychology Series) By Tarthang Tulku Bullying Story I do remember that as a little kid, six, or seven years old, I was both on the receiving end of bullying and on the giving end of it. And looking back, if I would have had this understanding and been more mindful of the way that I can experience it, and the way that I will be more compassionate towards others, if I would have had these practices, that wouldn't have happened. Living Consciously I know how traumatic it can be for lots of kids, and even for adults, it is quite strong, because it keeps them happy. And this is not just for kids. Yet, at that moment, as a six, seven-year-old, I would have not acted in that way. And I wouldn't have been able to actually not act in that way. Because if I would have been more mindful of how when someone else was willing, I would have been able to experience it in a different way. I wouldn't have been moved to in a sense that for someone else. Hurt people hurt people and definitely, that is the word. The importance of bringing awareness and mindfulness into every piece of life is paramount to creating changes in the world because the more that we can catch ourselves, and the more that we can understand what has happened, and how I can process that, then I'm not going to repeat certain behaviors that are not supporting life in general. #165 How to Integrate Psychedelics with Tobias Penno

There are all sorts of reasons people seek out a psychedelic experience.  For some, psychedelic-assisted therapy helps treat depression, some seek a deeply embodied therapeutic experience to traverse major trauma or grief, and some seek a little magic-an escape from the mundane of the day-to-day 9-5 grind.  Whatever it may be, the depth of research and data proving the benefits of a well-integrated embodied psychedelic experience- is making the vision of psychedelic-assisted therapy becoming a recognised/available integrated form of healthcare a realistic vision for the near future. Today Mason chats with Tobias Penno, A government-funded psychedelic researcher and founder of ‘Psychedelic Healthcare'- a therapeutic service specialising in psychedelic integration work in Australia. Tobias talks about the benefits of psychedelic-assisted therapy and its capacity to open up the mind/body interface for deep therapeutic work and mystical experiences that can evolve consciousness.  As with all journeys that crack open the psyche- The process of integration after any psychedelic experience (assisted or not) is an essential part of the journey. Tobias explains what integration after a psychedelic experience looks like when done well, the holistic self-work it takes to integrate meaningfully and embody the changes in your life, and how we can benefit from this type of therapy both on an individual and societal level.  Mason and Tobias discuss the intersection of the Taoist herbs and a well-integrated psychedelic/plant medicine experience  And how these majestic herbs and plant medicines can assist us on the journey towards becoming an evolved elder that embodies health and love in mind, body, spirit.   "People come to psychedelics looking for this silver bullet, thinking it's going to suddenly change their life. I think it's important to slow that right down because they're not a silver bullet. They're not right for everyone. There are some people who probably don't need psychedelics- they're already so open, so connected already. They kind of already have an inner psychedelic state, either through other practices or just by nature of their personality. And for them, throwing psychedelics in the mix is probably just adding more chaos than they really need".  - Tobias Penno   Tobias and Mason discuss: -Ayahuasca. -Somatic work. -What is a Dieta? -Psychedelic integration. -Psychedelic healthcare. -Holotropic breath work. -Plant medicine journeys. -Psychedelic integration groups. -Relational dose psychedelic therapy. -Why psychedelics aren't for everyone. -Somatic mapping and psychotherapy. -Deeper psychotherapeutic types of work. -High-quality preparation before a psychedelic experience. -Psychedelics are great prep for good deep therapeutic work. -Personal and collective integration of a plant medicine journey. -What happens when there is no integration after psychedelics?   Who Tobias Penno? Tobias Penno is a government-funded psychedelic researcher at the University of Western Australia (U.W.A.). His first academic publication titled 'How Ayahuasca Offers Psychosocial Wellbeing' won the social work research prize in the school of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Science at U.W.A. in 2017. Tobias is the current chair of the Australian Psychedelic Society (WA Chapter) and his current doctoral research is titled 'Interpersonal Neurobiology in Psychedelic Healing'. Tobias is also the founder of ‘Psychedelic Healthcare', a therapeutic service specialising in psychedelic integration work in Australia. One day he hopes to provide psychedelic-assisted therapy within an integrated model of emotional healthcare practices.   Resource guide Guest: Tobias's website  Tobias's Instagram Tobias's Facebook Psychedelic support Australian Psychedelic Society Tonics: JING blend Relevant Podcasts: Love, Sex and Psychedelics with Dr. Molly Maloof (EP#137) Psychedelic Journeywork and Fungi Academy with Jasper Degenaars (EP#120) Psychedelic Assisted Therapies and Mental Health with Tania De Jong (EP#124)   Check Out The Transcript Here: https://www.superfeast.com.au/blogs/articles/psychedelics-with-tobias-penno-ep-165

Having my friend Allison Pelot back on Awakening Aphrodite is simply a dream come true. This time, Allison comes to us as the author of her first book, Finally Thriving: Your Guide to Empowered Wellness, a gift she manifested for the world to share her voice, teachings and vast wisdom as a healer, coach and energy worker. One of the many reasons I respect Allison so much is because she practices what she preaches: everything she shares stems from her own authentic experience. She has the most beautiful energy that invokes a calm, grounded feeling in me– something I'm curious to know if you'll feel through this episode too! Allison was initially featured on Awakening Aphrodite's popular Episode 62, which I think you'll love if you enjoy this conversation. I also made an appearance on her wonderful podcast, Integrate Yourself, in which I share my own healing journey and passion for tapping into the soul's desires and harmonizing the divine masculine and feminine dynamics within us all. We are like-minded sisters in many ways, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have her back here for another holistic conversation. Allison's new book is a main topic of this episode: her creative process, how writing allowed her to resolve and release deeper traumas, and how removing the stigmas and expectations of authoring a book alchemized the famously challenging process into a pure, joyful experience. Imagine if everyone's work came from a place of joy rather than obligation! What a refreshing, transformative perspective. We also discuss: The process of healing the inner child Vocal tuning and the incredible powers of voice Holotropic breathwork and Allison's out-of-body-experience Sound healing Mental fitness The holistic idea that spiritual understanding and development can only truly occur when our body is nourished, strong and healthy You will be happy to know that Finally Thriving is now widely available for purchase– AND it comes with a complementary online program that supports your individualized, practical application of Allison's key concepts and teachings.
