Crate Expectations is the podcast for vinyl record collectors and music fans - rambling on about vinyl culture, new and old bands, the music industry, gigs and... bunnies.

Welcome to episode 2 of the Seven Deadly Sins challenge - PRIDE. This time the Groovers are spinning the Top Gun Soundtrack, Andy Shauf's Neon Skyline, Roger Waters' The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking and 2Pac's All Eyez on Me.
You must be joking!? What a ridiculous topic! Anyway, in this reissue from the hot take archives, the Groovy Guys try to nail down the best song of all time. The results are shocking!
There was a time when all records were black, but we live in an age of wonder and there seems to be no end to the possibilities when it comes to coloured vinyl and picture discs. In this reissue from our hot take archive, we set the record straight on whether they are cool, or simply a gimmick. This one was a split decision, but since recording this we've come around to being on the same page, with Groovy Guys Dan and Tom finally seeing the light. Listen in to find out which side they fell on. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crate-expectations/message
The Groovy Guys are back with another confounding vinyl challenge series. This are about to heat up in the Groove Lounge, because we're taking on the Seven Deadly Sins. Each episode will tackle one sin. The Groovy Guys will each present a record from their collection and plead their case as to why it best fits the theme. At the end of each episode we will cast our votes - 3 pts for 1st, 2 pts for second, 1 Pt for third. We can't vote for our own pick. The pick with the most points wins that episode. And for our sins, we made the challenge a little harder by trying our damndest not to feature any artists that have been on the pod before. So sorry if you come here for the Beatles, Zeppelin, Stones, ACDC, KGLW or Sam Roberts Band. In episode one of this series, we're talking about GREED. The albums the Groovers have chosen are Metallica - Master of Puppets, Kiss - Destroyer, Notorious B.I.G. - Life After Death and Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire. Enjoy... and go to Hell! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crate-expectations/message
Like a scene plucked straight from an Australian pub, the Groovy Guys discuss one of the most important topics in the history of life on earth... who is the better AC/DC singer, Bon Scott or Brian Johnson? In our latest reissue from the hot take archive, resident Australian Groovy Guy Tom sets the record straight and the other Groovers begrudgingly agree. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crate-expectations/message
The Groovy Guys are groovin' in real life. They've taken the red pill, left the matrix and gathered in person to record in a legit recording studio (aka Matt's dining room) to chat recent arrivals, new tunes and live music. We're digging back into our hot take archive, with the topic best singer of all time. There were some surprising choices thrown up but in the end all the Groovy Guys settled on two singers that I think most would be in most peoples greatest of all time lists. And one of them seems to be featured a lot throughout our podcast, and even made it into our rock supergroup challenge. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crate-expectations/message

This reissued hot take comes from our second-ever episode and features a very divisive topic about a band which splits opinions, U2. We asked a simple question - love them, or loathe them? In our first-ever reissue, we're throwing it back to our debut episode from July 2021 and our very first hot take - discussing the best and worst (is there such a thing?) Led Zeppelin albums. Back when a spinning vinyl contraption invented by Groovy Guy Chris chose the topics at random, this first hot take delivered a deep dive into Zeppelin's discography with some interesting views from all the Groovers and the stunning revelation that Chris doesn't really dig the Zepp. We nearly fired him on the spot.
