Before the 2023 CGI Super Mario Bros film hit theaters breaking records and becoming the 20th biggest film of all time there was another. In 1993 Nintendo branched out to Hollywood to make the first live action adaption of a video game franchise with Super Mario Bros starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo as the titular brothers. This week Patrick introduces this original Mario adaptation from his childhood to Lolo. Lolo didn't really grow up with video games and she has no clue what she is in store for or how important this film actually is in modern film history.
