In this special episode we bring you the second short channelled singing meditation to help you raise and empower the divine feminine in yourself and the world. Here, Nikki shares another singing meditation with you (after episode #123). Since the first song came as she gave birth to her daughter Lolotte, she has been singing channelled shamanic songs, and is now also giving shamanic sessions to people who organically come to her open to exploring the possibilities. These sessions have been leading to intriguing transformations and shifts, and Nikki wanted to bring more songs to the community here on Going Conscious after receiving multiple requests after episode #123. We invite you to give yourself these minutes to ground and align yourself as often as you feel called to. Do whatever feels good to you as you listen - lie down and close your eyes, sit still, dance, sing, or scream. Whatever feels right, go for it wholeheartedly! Just as Nikki has done here to create this channelling for you. Please come back and listen again and again. Let's raise and rebalance the divine feminine together. In this episode I read from the international bestseller which has just celebrated its 20th anniversary, the book which Oprah Winfrey keeps on her bedside table. You've probably read it, and if not, I imagine it's on your reading list. Here I revisit the book which help spur the early days of my spiritual transformation to explore psychological time, and how we are guided by the past and future, the consequences this mindset can lead to, and a strong reminder of why living with presence is the only path. In the book, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle, we learn that we each have the agency to take ourselves out of psychological pain and to return to the present moment where there are no problems. In this episode I invite my sister Emma, who has her PhD in contemporary eco-poetry and is a published academic teaching English Literature at Leeds University, to read the opening of The Overstory by Richard Powers. It's one of our favourite novels and has an incredibly powerful start. In his twelfth novel, National Book Award winner Richard Powers delivers a sweeping, impassioned novel of activism and resistance that is also a stunning evocation of―and paean to―the natural world. From the roots to the crown and back to the seeds, The Overstory unfolds in concentric rings of interlocking fables that range from antebellum New York to the late twentieth-century Timber Wars of the Pacific Northwest and beyond, exploring the essential conflict on this planet: the one taking place between humans and nonhumans. There is a world alongside ours―vast, slow, interconnected, resourceful, magnificently inventive, and almost invisible to us. This is the story of a handful of people who learn how to see that world and who are drawn up into its unfolding catastrophe. The Overstory is a book for all readers who despair of humanity's self-imposed separation from the rest of creation and who hope for the transformative, regenerating possibility of a homecoming. If the trees of this earth could speak, what would they tell us? "Listen. There's something you need to hear." Discover show notes, our library and more on www.goingconscious.com. In this episode I read from the classic Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. She tells us about the 'wild woman', the wise and ageless presence in the female psyche that gives women their creativity, energy and power. For centuries, the 'wild woman' has been repressed by a male-orientated value system which trivialises women's emotions. Using a combination of time-honoured stories and contemporary casework, Estes reveals that the 'wild woman' in us is innately healthy, passionate and wise. I first discovered this book a couple of years ago when Bandana Tewari recommended it on the show. Recently I came back to it, and I want to share the afterword with you in this episode, where we explore the concept - story is medicine. Joe began his career as an underwriter for Chubb & Son, Inc. and then moved into insurance risk management as an analyst for Lehman Brothers, Inc. He subsequently worked with PepsiCo for nine years. In 2010, Joe fulfilled his desire to have an impact on public policy affecting the country's Department of Social Services, which had an operating budget of $600 million. The first African American elected as a village trustee in his community of Port Chester, New York, he also served as deputy mayor from 2011 to 2012. Joe was appointed President and CEO of Greyston in April 2020 after serving two years as vice president. In this episode we talk about how Joe, together with his team, bakes 12 million brownies a year, and you've probably eaten one in your Ben & Jerry's. Written by Jon Alexander with Ariane Conrad, Citizens opens up a new way of understanding ourselves and shows us what we must do to survive and thrive as individuals, organisations, and nations. I spoke with Jon in last week's episode and today read some short sections for you. Discover how when our institutions treat people as creative, empowered creatures rather than consumers, everything changes. Unleashing the power of everyone equips us to face the challenges of economic insecurity, climate crisis, public health threats, and polarisation. Jon Alexander is the author of CITIZENS: Why the Key to Fixing Everything is All of Us, and co-founder of the New Citizenship Project. He spent the first decade of his career winning awards in the advertising industry, then changed direction to use his skills to involve people in the world as Citizens, instead of just selling stuff to Consumers… Only recently published, his book is already receiving huge acclaim and his work is being covered in major publications. I'm thrilled for him and so encouraged that this important work is being spread and read by many, as it needs to be. In this episode we talk about why things are up for grabs in society in ways they haven't been before, the collapse of the Consumer Story and the rise of the Citizen Story - the deepest truth of humanity. We talk about the huge opportunity for the world that is business, not to minimise harm but to do more good, how to celebrate the connection between humans and nature, and Jon asks us what you would do today if you truly believed in those around you and yourself. Celebrating two years of Going Conscious! I've interviewed over 100 guests from all over the world, ages 20s up to 70s, discussing topics from where spirituality intersects with business to finding aligned investors, healing from within and nurturing conscious relationships. These conversations have led me to spot patterns of how people change their lives and create conscious business success. Without realising it when I started the podcast, I've done an enormous amount of research, which I am currently summarising for my upcoming book, Going Conscious! I'm excited to announce here for the first time that it will be published in May 2023. I can't wait to share it with you!! You will be able to learn how to transform yourself so you can transform the world using business for good. The 9 key transformations that will revolutionise you, your business and your life. How to finally bring your inner transformation together with your business output, as they have been separated for too long, and your conscious business is ultimately an expression of your inner world. In this recap episode you will hear the first parts of four Going Conscious episodes that centre around healing yourself from within. I spoke with these four amazing women to discover their journeys and how they discovered how to heal themselves. It is incredibly powerful to unleash our inner abilities if only we give ourselves the chance and space. We will hear from Emma who discovered how dance is medicine and healed herself from not being able to walk and having tried all the western medicine drugs she could, to being free and fit, moving her body and helping others to do the same. We will hear from Shayoon who, together with her husband Alexander, runs the LightForce centre in Bali and online, and she tells us about her incredible journey from fashion stylist in LA to helping people heal their traumas, and how motherhood was her rebirth. Giap shares her courageous path from banking in London to discovering healing and her Buddhist roots, as well as open vulnerability about conscious relationships. And we hear from Rita who found healing in raw vegan eating and discovered holistic approaches to surrender and discover her inner power. Please let me know in a short review which episode, guest or takeaway grabs your attention, and I'll be reading some out as listener shout-outs soon. Welcome to episode 100 of Going Conscious! That's a lot of powerful conversations and brilliant people I have been lucky enough to speak with. This milestone has got me reflecting and noticing how much I myself have evolved over this time. In this episode I share reflections on how I have personally grown over this journey of the first 100 episodes, and what I would like to see in the next 100 episodes. In this recap episode you will hear the first parts of four Going Conscious episodes that centre around channeling purpose. Purpose is core to everything that every Going Conscious guest does and a main foundation of their success. What is purpose, can you find it and what parts of conventional purpose discourse are irrelevant to you? You will hear different perspectives and insights from four angles and personal experiences of purpose. Enjoy discovering this inspiration and checking out some of the interviews you may have missed. We will hear from serial entrepreneur, business leader and bestselling business author Catherine Bell on how purpose and profit can exist together, from author, consultancy founder and touring professional speaker Laura Gassner Otting on how to make sure you don't end up with other people's definitions of purpose, from award/winning barrister Abi Johnson on her threads of purpose and journey to activism, and another bestselling author of awardwinning book The Purpose Myth, Charlotte Cramer, on the purpose vacuum and how to get out of it. These four people all have profound stories and are widely recognised thoughtleaders.
