I'm a person. And I have a family, and I have a life, and I have a path that I'm trying to figure out. And if I don't balance myself--my mind, my body, my soul--sometimes I do a really good job. Sometimes I flub it up a lot. But if I don't balance me, I'm not going to be a good intuitive.” “You know, they don't ever want to talk about, ‘Remember that time you stole my money, you ass hole!' You know, they never say that!” “They always talk about those moments that took our breath away, not the moments that we lost our breath.” 6:25 April has moved to Texas, she's worked on missing person cases, but her work with balancing herself has not changed. 7:40 Those who are and are NOT pushing our species forward since 2016. 9:37 The 2020 pandemic and its effects on the world. “As a society, we still don't know what it did to us.” 11:22 The positive effects of Covid. “It forced us as a species to look at things we refused to.” 18:21 The paranormal culture in Eastern Texas, the Azalea Inn Bed and Breakfast, and her work with paranormal investigator husband, Braxton Roane. 22:24 Patrick originally met Braxton Roane at an event at Belvoir Winery before he or Patrick even knew April! 29:58 The side effects of paranormal investigation and the traumatizing story of April and Braxton needing an exorcism! “Let's just say Braxton's eyes went from green to blue. They were green, then they went to this period of just slate grey, and then to blue.” “When you realize the devil's looking right at you, it's not a moment where you look away and you run and you lose them.” 31:20 Patrick shared a funny memory about Chip Coffey at Belvoir Winery. 39:34 April talks about her book, Goodnight Just the Same. 42:27 April describes her book, “Love Your Inner Empath: A Healing Workbook & Tool Kit.” 44:12 Food, diet, chocolate, and gravity. April and Patrick get real about it. 45:02 “You are the guru of you. And you honor you. Honor all that your ups and downs has brought you to this moment of awareness. And that is where your adventure begins. What does that awareness say? What do you feel? ‘Oh my life's a sh*t show.' Okay then. Let's fix it. Let's change it. Let's start to seek the joy, whatever that is for you. Leave people alone. They're responsible for their own joy. So many of us live our life based on everyone else.” 48:52 Outro 52:27 A special THANK YOU to Patreon supporters at the Super Paranerd and Parlor Guest level! 53:47 For more on April Roane AprilRoane.com April's previous appearance in episode 70 of the Big Seance Podcast in 2016. You know the people you meet & just know they are your people?? My guest this week is Josh Dairen. We met at a paranormal event, I was photographing the event & Josh was one of the guest speakers. His experience in the paranormal stemmed from experiences as a child & an adult but it wasn't until a little human came into his life that he would turn his passions into his reality. Josh is a historical paranormal researcher who tells stories that may otherwise be lost to time or even worse, misrepresented. His videos offer a quick yet efficient overview of these stories that are mostly local to Alabama & surrounding southern states. He also owns The Coffee Shop with his wife where they sling caffeine to all the locals! Be sure to check Josh out on all of his platforms listed below. On this episode, Laura, Krysta and Dean discuss the Belvoir Winery in Liberty Missouri. But first Krysta has weird facts about Iguanas as well as Catching up with Krysta. Then we discuss the history of the secret society known as the Odd Fellows. Then, we learn of their history in the United States and specifically Missouri as these philanthropists form a school, a hospital and a home for the aged on 250 acres along with a farm and a cemetery and how the site eventually became disused, shrouded in rumor before being turned into the Belvoir Winery. The Winery is a place for wine tastings, weddings and staying the night in one of their 9 rooms. But the winery is haunted by it's past and actively haunted by shadow people, apparitions and more. We even hear from Blue and Demyx, two of the kids that aren't regularly on the show as they discuss their experiences at the Winery. So join us as we investigate this legendary location and find out all about it's haunted history!

Happy Spooky Wednesday! This week Kala is telling you about the Milton School House in Alton, Illinois. Yep, we're back in Alton, and it's still haunted. And Brittany talks about the Belvoir Winery and Inn in Liberty, Missouri. Both locations experience a lot of residual hauntings. And while they may have started out as buildings with a dark past, they are now both successful businesses. While their owners may or may not embrace this haunted history, we know one thing for sure: We. Are. Interested. This episode is sponsored by Earth Rider Brewery in Superior, WI. Welcome to the Tescasterone Podcast Episode 004 Scott has the week off, as he has his kids this week. . . So, you are stuck with me, your host, Joe. Unfortunately, neither Scott, nor I got to watch the race this week, but the results are in: Brad Keslowski wins at Martinsville. Congrats Brad. Twins have lost 5 of their last 9 games of Spring training. They are still listed at 50 to 1 odds of winning the World Series, and listed at 16th place to take it. Wasn't able to come up with anything interesting for the ad of the day. So, instead, I bring up O'reilly's Auto Parts listing for the Flux Capacitor (from Back to the Future) Part #121G. Thanks to O'reilly's for having a sense of humor. QotD: Are Ghosts Real?Since Scottie wasn't able to join me for this podcast, I thought I would bring on 'Tescasterone Story Time'. Here is the story of my home in Hopkins, MN. I was married pretty young, and my wife at the time was interested in spooky old homes, so we purchased a home built in 1902. It was probably built before that, but that was date listed on the title. In 1998 she took her own life, and I hosted the wake in my home. Getting the place ready for the wake, my mother came over and help clean. I left to get something, and she stayed behind to continue setting the place up. As she was in the kitchen, washing dishes, the stereo in the living room came on (no, she doesn't remember what song was playing). She went into the living room, and turned it off. Back in the kitchen, she is busy again, and again the stereo comes on. She promptly walks out the front door and sits on the front step, to wait for my return. All the animals were accounted for, and none of them were active enough at the time to step on the remote. Eventually I got a roommate, John. He never experienced anything that he told me. He got a girlfriend (she never experienced anything spooky, either), who became his wife and moved out. Next roommate, however, was JC. He had some shit happen to him. He and I met at work, so alot of our conversations happened there. I opened the store one day and JC came in later. "Hey, Joe, did you come home earlier today?" I tell him that I opened the store, and have been here the whole time. He proceeds to tell me that he had taken a shower and left the towel on the bathroom floor. (yes, typical bachelor) He Went upstairs to get something to eat, and when he came back down, the towel was hanging on the rod. A couple of nights later, he was laying down to go to sleep, and felt something distinctly female climb in to bed with him. He turned his head, and saw nothing was there. Yet, he could smell her perfume, and kinda still feel her pressure on the bed behind him. A week or so later he purchased three tiny gargoyles to line up on the TV (Gargoyles have been used for centuries to send evil spirits away) facing his bed. Every night he would come downstairs only to find them turned and facing the wall - even when I was away on vacation. Eventually he, too, got married and moved out. The next couple of roommates never had any experiences, at least not that they ever told me about. I sold the house to an investor who renovated the property to set up for leasing. In the past ten years, I have never seen anyone live there, I drive by after snow storms, and I never see any tire tracks in the driveway. The place may be haunted by my wife? Maybe other spirits? Who knows. A couple of years ago I went down to Kansas City to do a ghost hunt with Darkness Dave (of Beyond the Darkness podcast fame) at the Belvoir Winery. Formerly the winery was an Oddfellows Orphanage/Assylum. I met Dave, and several of the cast from the Ghost Mine tv show. They all gave little talks, and then we did the investigation. After, I got back to Minnesota, I went through all the digital recordings, etc, to see if evidence presented itself to me. Nothing. No experiences, personally. Yet, I remain open minded. Do ghosts exist? Again, not a clue. Just an interesting theory. Updates on Tescasterone happenings: Teepublic.com - got one design up (lettering in three colors, to match whatever color shirt you want to buy) Have another shirt going up on Saturday the 30th of March Got a twitter account, but, have no clue how to really use it. Shout outs to: Blue at the level three Caribou at the Mall of America - ask for her by name. And to Jameson the coolest fire spinner in the South West Metro area of Minneapolis, North of the river.
Tonight we have paranormal investigator, podcast/internet radio show hostess, and more, Denise Pridemore!Bio:Denise Pridemore is originally from Baltimore and lived in Virginia, New Jersey, Arkansas, Missouri and settled in Eastern Kansas. She has been having paranormal experiences since her earliest memories. She has a lifetime of experiences paranormal, intuitive, and real life. She has been seeking answers to the paranormal since she can remember, but recalls a time when talking about the paranormal, premonitions, and supernatural phenomenon was taboo. “Don’t talk about that stuff, people will think you are nuts. They will lock you up!”Denise and her husband, Ron, decided they wanted to start investigating, and their daughters were all interested, as well. They talked about it for years after going on multiple ghost tours, and public investigations, in 2009 they made it official, after a family reunion trip to Iowa. They had always wanted to go to the Villisca Axe Murder House, especially after seeing it on “Most Terrifying Places in America.” Due to the Missouri River flooding they were sent on a detour, through the back roads, and came across Clarinda, IA. “How far is Villisca from Red Oak?” Denise asked. Ron, “Has to be up north, I don’t ever recall seeing it.” Three minutes later they see a sign, “Villisca 9 miles.” They stopped and took a couple pictures with the intention to see if they could see it on the return trip home. They went on to the family reunion and shared the creepy photo from Villisca and that was when they found out that Oren Jackson, the sheriff during the Villisca murders was Ron’s great Grandmother’s brother. They went back on Sunday, met Darwin Linn and Johnny Houser, and they shared with them the photo from the trial with Oren Jackson. That day, the whole family had experiences that changed their lives. Lauren, their third daughter, saw a full body apparition walk past her into the attic from the parents’ bedroom. Leigha, their youngest, heard children talking and felt like she made friends with Lena. Denise had a connection with the mother and something dark, she assumed it was the killer. Ron witnessed changes in his family that he had never seen before, he is a skeptic and did not understand, but was completely intrigued. Pridemore Paranormal was started as soon as they came home and they have been busy ever since.Denise and Ron were volunteers for the Atchison Kansas Chamber of Commerce during their Haunted Season, September through the first week of November at the Infamous Sallie House from 2012 to 2017 (6 seasons). They also hosted public investigations at the PepperMill Restaurant, formerly known as the River House, former brothel. Due to the experiences Denise has had at the Sallie House, she was asked to be on Ghost Adventures to give the guys a tour. That was a very interesting experience for Denise and has brought her some local and national popularity. They currently volunteers at the Historic McPike Mansion in Alton, Il, and Co-Host of Spook Show Con 2019 in DeKalb, Il. Denise has been the host of the Paranormal Pride Radio since April 2015, currently on WBHM-DB.com in Birmingham, Alabama Mondays 7 pm central, 8 pm eastern.Denise and Ron have been guest investigators at many places from Virginia to Nevada, but not limited to the locations listed.Goldfield Hotel, Goldfield, NV; Miztpah Hotel, Tonapah, NV; Buffalo Trace Distillery, Frankfort, KY; Gretna Virginia Cemetery, The Grave of Octavia Hatcher, Pikeville, KY; Belvoir Winery, Liberty, MO; The 1859 Jail and Marshall’s Museum, Independence, MO; and The Pythian Castle, Springfield, MO; Carroll Mansion, Leavenworth, KS. GHOST HUNTERS veteran Steve Gonsalves is TAPS' (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) technology manager and lead evidence analyst. With Grant Wilson retired from the show, Steve is also de facto second in command after founder Jason Hawes. Gonsalves has been a public speaker and educator about paranormal phenomena for more than 10 years; is co-founder of TAPS publication, PARAMAGAZINE; and trains all TAPS members on use and maintenance of the team's wide range of high-tech ghost hunting equipment.. Syfy's GHOST HUNTERS returns with the second half of season 9 on Wednesday, June 12 at 9 PM ET/PT with brand new investigations in all-new locations. In Wednesday's ep, “The Ghost Hasn't Left the Building,” TAPS heads to Louisiana to investigate the historic Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium – famed for being the venue where Elvis Presley played his first professional gig in 1954. In order to ease the minds of frightened visitors, performers and staff, TAPS' client is hoping that the team can find an explanation for the reports of paranormal activity at the auditorium. She also wants to know if Elvis really did leave the building or if The King's spirit is attracting an audience of apparitions… Upcoming eps include “Ghost Friends Forever” (6/19), at a bungalow in Little Rock, AR; “Vintage Spirits” (6/26), at the Belvoir Winery in Liberty, MO; “Hoover Damned” (7/10) at Nevada's Old Boulder City Hospital; and “Something in the Water” (7/17) at The Elms Resort & Spa in Excelsior Springs, MO.
