On this edition of What Happened When, Tony Schiavone and Conrad Thompson fire up the time machine and take you back 40 years to one of the most explosive stretches in Jim Crockett Promotions and the National Wrestling Alliance. It's Memorial Day weekend 1986, and the road to The Great American Bash is already blazing hot. Tony relives the intensity of the unforgettable contract signing between Nikita Koloff and Magnum T.A. a moment dripping with tension that set the tone for the summer ahead. Things get even more brutal as Ricky Morton suffers a gruesome broken nose at the hands of Ric Flair, showcasing the violent edge that defined the era and cemented Flair and the The Four Horsemen as the most dangerous group in the business. Plus, the guys spotlight the debut of a man who would go on to become a major force in wrestling Big Bubba Rogers and discuss how his arrival fit into the rapidly evolving landscape of JCP. This month on Territory Marks we feast on a match from 1987 between two behemoths of the UWF, One Man Gang vs Big Bubba Rogers! Shortly before One Man Gang was “reborn” in the WWF as Akeem and Big Bubba Rogers made his way to New York to become Big Boss Man, they battled in the UWF for the world title. Paul and Zak are joined by special guest Rob Rudman (Mattel) to discuss this “match” from 1987, reminisce on their favorite Survivor Series moments, and sing a few bars from Big Bubba Rogers ring entrance music…which happens to also be the theme song to the arcade classic Spy Hunter! Enjoy! Over on our Patreon, we continue the Big Bubba Rogers aka Big Boss Man love by featuring Ray Traylor on this month's Legends of the Territories! Welcome to another fun filled episode of YOUR SHOW, the Kick Out Crew! This week, the guys pay tribute to Ray Traylor. You may know him as Big Boss Man or Big Bubba Rogers. Matches discussed are The Boss v Rick Rude from Starrcade 1993 and Al Snow v Big Boss Man from Unforgiven 1999. These matches are memorable for all different reasons, and it's worth listening to our banter about each one. But of course, what about the shenanigans? Brad gets some fake money with Becky being champion again. Mike has a switcheroo on bathrooms pulled on him. Adam talks about an exciting week in wrestling. James shows us that April showers do bring May flowers. Then Devyn keeps the draft hype going with his Devyn's Demographic. So sit back, relax, and let the Crew ease your mind on another hilarious episode. And if you like what the guys are doing, be a friend and tell a friend about the funniest podcast around, YOUR SHOW, the Kick Out Crew! Also, be sure to check out the video version for a special behind the scenes blooper!

Sixty Men... Three Rings... Three Giants... One Battle Royal! That was the tagline for the very first ever World War 3 event for WCW in 1995. It was not great, but it was unique and it drew a pretty good sized house in Virginia. Johnny B. Badd (not shockingly) opens the show against DDP for the TV Title and it tests the Diamond Doll's allegiances. The All Japan women are in tag-team action that puts what the WWF did a month earlier to shame. Big Bubba Rogers and Jim Duggan face off in a Taped Fist match (yes, really), Sting takes on Ric Flair in a forgotten match-up, and Lex Luger faces an injured "Macho Man" Randy Savage. In the main event, we've got 3 rings, 3 commentary teams, 60 men, 3 giants, and 1 winner. However, the finish was marred with controversy and you'll see why. Let's just say that it makes the babyface Hulk Hogan look like a giant douche. In the news, we discuss one of Vince McMahon's lawyers being investigated by the FBI, WCW and NJPW's working relationship possibly coming to an end, Sabu's surprise return to ECW, and much more! linktr.ee/MainEventMarks Learn more about your ad choices. Trying to out do the WWF's Royal Rumble, WCW had 3 rings, 60 men, and 3 giants. This certainly was a spectacle that was something to behold. Most of the rest of the show was actually one of the better shows of all of 1995, having Ric Flair vs. Sting, Johnny B. Badd vs. DDP, an awesome Joshi tag match, and Chris Benoit vs. Kensuki Sasaki for the US Title. Of course, it was 1995, so we also had to sit through Big Bubba Rogers vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in a Taped Fists match and a bad match between Lex Luger and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. We also had a babyface Hulk Hogan being a huge heel on this show by cutting an entire promo lying to the fans about Savage's injury, trashing a dirt sheet, and then at the end of the showing, crying and whining because he didn't win. 1995 was weird. In the news, we talk about a new wrinkle in the WWF Steroid Trial, the WWF getting edgier, Sabu having to pay to find out he was fired, and an MMA show being booted from New York City only to hold it at a secret venue with a secret crowd...and it sucked. Kris & David are joined by John McAdam (Stick to Wrestling) to discuss the week that was May 29 - June 4, 1986, a Patreon-requested show. We talk about Kerry Von Erich's life changing motorcycle accident and how it affected World Class as a promotion at the worst possible time for them. We also look at the talent turnover they had thanks to so many wrestlers leaving for the UWF. Speaking of which, we then go to the UWF and talk about Terry Gordy being crowned the 1st UWF Champion, and most importantly, Bill Watts being buried by under the Russian flag in one of the greatest TV wrestling moments ever. We also talk about Roddy Piper filming Body Slam, Gene Okerlund taking over as host of TNT, Jos LeDuc cutting Paul Diamond's hair, Jerry Blackwell being red flagged medically by state athletic commissions, Nikita Koloff & Magnum T.A.'s press conference, the debut of Big Bubba Rogers, and tons more.
