Dr. Raza Bokhari, Executive Chairman and CEO of Medicus Pharma, has developed a novel, non-invasive treatment for basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer. This cost-effective transdermal Skinject patch delivers a chemotherapeutic agent applied in a clinician's office over three sessions to remove the lesion, potentially avoiding the need for Mohs surgery, the current standard of care. Medicus is incorporating AI and advanced imaging techniques in its clinical trials to improve diagnosis and monitoring of the treatment's effectiveness. Raza explains, "The gold standard to treat basal cell carcinoma of the skin is surgical intervention, generally speaking, all solid tumors to eliminate cancer if it is caught in the early stage. The treatment regimen is that you surgically take the malignant cells out. The same is true for basal cell carcinoma of the skin. It is a slow-growing cancer. It appears on areas of the body that are exposed to ultraviolet radiation, which is being exposed primarily to the sun. When the lesion appears and is diagnosed, the treatment available is what is called Mohs surgical procedure, which is a micrographic go around the lesion of the cancer and just curate out the cancer cells in a surgical suite done by an experienced surgeon." "We are trying to disrupt by delivering a known chemotherapeutic agent through these uniquely designed, cellulose-based microneedle arrays, which can penetrate the dermis and deliver a chemotherapeutic agent at the site of the lesion and kill the cancer cells, thereby eliminating the need of surgical intervention." "It is currently in clinical trial, but post-approval, it is ready to commercialize. We hope that the dermatologists who are also trained to do Mohs surgery before scheduling the surgery, which usually takes about six to eight weeks to schedule, can also invite the patients to, in an office setting, take our patch and have it placed over the site of the lesion for 30 minutes over three settings. So if a cancer is diagnosed today, you schedule Mohs surgery, which is considered the gold standard six to eight weeks out because that is the wait time. The average wait time in the United States is about six to eight weeks. You could provide an option to have these three sittings one week apart of 30 minutes of our patch and come back for an examination on week four or five. If the lesion has been cured and the skin has become clear, then there is no need for surgical intervention. If, for some reason, our treatment fails, the patient can go on and get more surgery done and eventually become cancer-free." #MedicusPharma #PatchCure #BasalCellPatch #PatchTherapy #BCC #BasalCellCarcinoma #SkinCancer #Biotech #Dermatology #ClinicalTrials #Phase2Trial #SkinCancerTreatment medicuspharma.com Download the transcript here

In this edition of The New Lines Institute Middle East Center's Post-Assad Podcast series, Middle East Center co-director Nicholas A. Heras sits down with Dr. Kamran Bokhari to develop a strategic forecast for Syria in the upcoming year. Dr. Bokhari is a Senior Director at the Institute who is a specialist on Eurasian politics with a particular focus on the Middle East with over three decades experience in the intelligence analysis community providing strategic assessments on global events. A distinguished professor at the Institute's M.A. in Strategy and Policy program, Dr. Bokhari also teaches a course on Central Asia at Georgetown University's Security Studies Program. Heras and Dr. Bokhari investigate the key dynamics that will shape post-Assad Syria in 2025, and present especially important context on events in Syria that are not being widely discussed that will be essential to understanding the trajectory of the country.
In Episode 394 of Hidden Forces, Demetri Kofinas speaks with geopolitical analyst and forecaster Kamran Bokhari about the fall of Damascus and the implications of Bashar al-Assad's ouster in Syria for the balance of power in the Middle East. Kamran last came on the podcast a year ago to discuss the violence ignited by Hamas' October 7th attacks, the nature and scope of Iranian involvement, and how various regional actors, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the Houthis, and Hezbollah were exploiting the growing disorder for their own advantage as the Biden administration struggled to stabilize a region that was on the verge of another major war. That war has seemingly come and gone, leaving Iran's influence network along the Shia crescent from Damascus to Beirut, along with its proxies and affiliates in utter devastation or full-on retreat. Assad's departure and the fall of his regime in Syria are the equivalent of a geopolitical earthquake and are already dramatically changing the balance of power in the Middle East. Kamran and Demetri spend the first hour of this episode recapping these recent events, enumerating the key players who expect a seat at the table for any negotiation over Syria's future, why the center of gravity in the Sunni Muslim world is shifting from Riyadh to Ankara, and what all of this means for Iran and the strategic vision that has guided the Islamic revolution since 1979. In the second hour, Kofinas and Bokhari go one by one through every major country that will be materially affected by the outcome in Syria. They discuss the consequences and opportunities for Turkey, the new threats and challenges posed to Israel, what this new reality means for the Saudis, the interests of the United States and Russia, and why el-Sisi's regime in Egypt may be the next major Arab government to come under pressure in the years to come. In this episode we talk with Dr. Warris Bokhari and Julie Baak to tackle the complex world of insurance denials and patient advocacy. Dr. Bokhari shares his journey from working within the insurance industry to creating Claimable, a platform aimed at empowering patients to fight back against unfair denials. Julie Baak adds her expertise as a practice manager, highlighting the uphill battle of navigating appeals in the face of insurance company bureaucracy. Takeaways: The Reality of Insurance Denials: The episode dives into the staggering number of claims denied each year and the systemic issues that make appeals an uphill battle for patients and healthcare providers. Claimable's Mission: Dr. Bokhari explains how Claimable uses AI to help patients craft compelling appeals, leveraging personal stories and clinical data to confront insurance companies effectively. The Power of Patient Stories: Julie Baak emphasizes the importance of patients taking an active role in appeals, as appeals coming directly from patients carry more weight with insurers than those from physicians. The Role of Humor in Advocacy: From satirical videos to cease-and-desist letters, the episode highlights how humor and public engagement can bring attention to the flaws in the healthcare system. A Call for Transparency: The conversation underscores the need for greater transparency and accountability in how insurance companies handle claims and appeals, advocating for systemic reform. — Want to Learn About Dr. Warris Bokhari & Julie Baak: TikTok: @getclaimable Instagram: @getclaimable, @c_money636 X: @GetClaimable, @ArthritisSTL — To Get Tickets to Wife & Death: You can visit Glaucomflecken.com/live We want to hear YOUR stories (and medical puns)! Medicus Pharma (TSX-V:MDCX, NASDAQ:MDCX) CEO and chairman Raza Bokhari speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's listing on Nasdaq, marking a key milestone for the biotechnology firm. Medicus raised $4 million through the IPO to fund its ongoing phase 2 proof-of-concept trial for a promising noninvasive treatment for basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer. The $15 billion market for skin cancer treatments reflects a significant unmet need, and Medicus Pharma aims to address this with a novel combination therapy developed in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. Bokhari emphasized that the treatment could offer a less costly, non-surgical alternative with strong aesthetic benefits. He also shared that since the company's Toronto Stock Exchange listing last year, it has raised over $20 million, underscoring investor interest in innovative, disruptive cancer therapies. As Medicus Pharma seeks alignment with the FDA, Bokhari expressed hopes to expedite the phase 2 trial and potentially convert it to a pivotal trial early in 2025, positioning the company to take the next big step in its development journey. "We believe we have a novel treatment that can cut costs and eliminate the need for surgical intervention," Bokhari stated. The new funds will bolster Medicus Pharma's progress, with patient recruitment already underway. Stay tuned to Proactive's YouTube channel for more updates from Medicus Pharma Ltd. The world seems like it is staring into the abyss, with conflicts breaking out across Eurasia. Does this mean that we are entering a new global conflict where the three great powers – the United States, Russia, and China – are entering into direct conflict? What role are smaller powers such as Israel and Iran, playing in all of this? And what do the political systems in the great powers tell us about what comes next? These are the big questions that Dr. Kamran Bokhari tries to answer in this conversation. Dr. Kamran Bokhari is the Senior Director of the Eurasian Security and Prosperity portfolio at the New Lines Institute. He served as Director of the Analytical Development Department from 2019 to 2023. Allum Bokhari, managing director at the Foundation for Freedom Online, joins James Poulos to discuss how social media platforms quickly turned to censor any mention of the attempted assassination on Donald Trump. Since the peak of censorship in 2020, platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and others have increasingly bowed to advertiser pressure. Bokhari discusses an upcoming report by the Foundation for Freedom Online that exposes this censorship and the power advertisers hold over free speech. The World Federation of Advertisers, a group that represents 90% of all advertising spent worldwide, has financially throttled media companies that don't comply with its “brand safety.” A cabal of six global advertising agencies are blacklisting conservative media groups and even X itself in order to avoid mass consumer boycotts. Elon Musk transformed Twitter into X and has challenged the establishment by allowing new elites to push back against the old financial elites. They also discuss Netanyahu's political future and that of his governing coalition, the future of Israeli politics, and whether any hope remains for a negotiated peace process that could lead to a viable and independent Palestinian state. In the second hour, they broaden their focus to encompass the larger Middle East, including Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the Houthis, and Hezbollah. They discuss how all of these different actors are repositioning themselves by exploiting the growing disorder for their own advantage as the Biden administration struggles to stabilize a region that may be on the verge of another major war. In Episode 332 of Hidden Forces, Demetri Kofinas speaks with geopolitical analyst and forecaster Kamran Bokhari. Kamran is the Senior Director of the Eurasian Security & Prosperity Portfolio at the New Lines Institute for Strategy & Policy and has served at the U.S. State Department and as a Senior Consultant with the World Bank. The subjects of today's conversation concern the escalating violence ignited by last weekend's brutal attacks on Israeli civilians by Hamas, as well as the Israeli Defense Forces' ongoing counteroffensive and bombing of the Gaza Strip. Kamran and Demetri spend the first hour of their conversation discussing the attacks, what we know about their original scope and intention, what role Iran may have played in helping plan the attacks, and whether or not we can expect Hezbollah to open a second front of attack in the north of Israel, as well as other potential pathways of escalation that could rope in the United States and turn this into a larger, regional conflict. In the second hour, Bokhari and Kofinas look at how the events transpiring in the Middle East fit into the story that Demetri has been telling on this podcast for years about the fragmentation of the liberal rules-based international order and the emergence of a new multipolarity where nation states will seek to resolve long-standing border or ethnic disputes by force as everyone jostles to reposition themselves favorably ahead of the emergence of a new status quo. On today's show, Mike reads and reacts to a CNN article that talks about the "cruelty" of America's border policy. Are the haters right or are they wrong? What can we learn from their views and what should this country be doing in the future to prevent further issues? Slater gives it to you straight as only he cans.Following this, we change gears a little bit and have Breitbart's Senior Tech Correspondent, Allum Bokhari, come on-air to address "The Facebook Files", Elon Musk's latest Twitter drama, and PornHub fighting state governments over age-verification laws. In an explosive new article, Senior Technology Correspondent at Breitbart News, Allum Bokhari exposes how Google is using "Woke Coding" to stealth edit Google Docs by replacing so-called gendered language like "Motherhood" or "Cowboy" with incomprehensible, un-gendered, and linguistically neutered versions of common english words. He joins The Charlie Kirk Show to discuss this exclusive scoop and the details will shock you. Also in this episode, an update on the Supreme Court from longtime friend of the show, President and CEO of First Liberty, Kelly Shackelford, a Constitutional Attorney with two cases before the Supreme Court himself that will have enormous bearing on every Americans' First Amendment right to freely exercise their faith.
