Barry Knapp Bostwick is an American actor. He is best known for portraying Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Mayor Randall Winston in the sitcom Spin City (1996–2002). Bostwick has also had considerable success in musical theatre, winning a Tony Award for his role in The Robber Bridegroom.Universal Studios Hollywood is adding a Fast and the Furious roller coaster to its theme park. The coaster is going to have a drift effect like the cars in the movie do Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning director Christopher McQuarrie tells Games Radar that he almost used de-aging technology to make Tom Cruise appear younger at the beginning of the film. "Originally, there had been a whole sequence at the beginning of the movie that was going to take place in 1989, We talked about it as a cold open, we talked about it as flashbacks in the movie, we looked at de-aging. One of the big things about [the de-aging] I was looking at while researching, I kept saying, 'Boy, this de-aging is really good' or 'This de-aging is not so good.' Never did I find myself actually following the story. I was so distracted by an actor that I had known for however long was now suddenly this young person.”The Daily Star says Hugh Grant is under fire for playing an Oompa Loompa in the new Willy Wonka film. Little People actors are furious that he was cast as a little person. Former WWE wrestling star Hornswoggle says, “Don't get me started on the forthcoming Willy Wonka movie. In Mel Stuart's 1971 version, he cast 10 dwarfs to play the Oompa Loompas. In Tim Burton's 2005 remake, the role went to 4ft 4in Gurdeep Roy, who was digitally cloned. So why has the role now gone to 5ft 11in Hugh Grant? People need to see real dwarf actors in blockbuster fantasy movies.”The Daily Mail says Jennifer Garner is taking boxing classes in Los Angeles to prepare for her role as Elektra in ''Deadpool 3''.Tom Holland says getting sober has been one of the best things he's done in his life. Entertainment Tonight quotes him as saying, “I didn't one day wake up and say I'm giving up drinking. I just, like many Brits had, had a very, very boozy December, Christmas time I was on vacation, I was drinking a lot, and I've always been able to drink a lot. I think I get my genes from my mum's side in that thing, not I can, I can drink. And I decided to just give up for January. I just wanted to do dry January and all I could think about was having a drink. That's all I could think about. I was waking up thinking about it. I was checking the clock, when's at 12pm? And it just really scared me. I just was like, wow. Maybe. Maybe I have a little bit of an alcohol thing. So I sort of decided to punish myself and say, I'll do February as well. I'll do two months off. If I can do two months off, then I can prove to myself that I don't have a problem. Two months go by and I was still really struggling. I felt like I couldn't be social. I felt like I couldn't go to the pub and have a lime soda. I couldn't go out for dinner. I was really, really struggling and I started to really worry that maybe I had an alcohol problem.”The Daily Mail says Tom Cruise wants to star in a movie with Margot Robbie. A source tells the newspaper, 'He's got his eyes on his next project and wants Margot to be his leading lady. Tom and Margot made 'tentative plans' to meet up and discuss the project when they return to Los Angeles,

2022 marks the 5Oth Anniversary of one of the most popular musicals in the history of Broadway – GREASE.  My guests on this episode are two of the many stars that emerged from the original Broadway and touring productions of that long running, record breaking show – Barry Bostwick & Marilu Henner. Marilu Henner's association with Grease goes back to the very beginning when as a teenager she created the role of “Marty” in the original Chicago production of the show. A few years later she played the role again in the First National Tour and then eventually on Broadway. Her other appearances in Broadway include the plays and musicals, Over Here!, Chicago, The Tale Of The Allergists Wife, and she starred in the National Tour of Annie Get Your Gun in 2000. She is of course best known for her role on the hit TV series Taxi, as well as her many other film and television appearances. Barry Bostwick created the role of “Danny Zuko” in the original Broadway production of GREASE for which he received a Tony nomination. He has appeared in seven Broadway plays and musicals including his Tony Award winning performance in The Robber Bridegroom. He has starred in dozens of film and television productions including the mini-series George Washington, the hit sitcom Spin City, and as “Brad Majors” in the cult classic the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Both Marilu and Barry have contributed anecdotes and memories to a new book that was released just last week, entitled Grease – Tell Me More, Tell Me More – Stories From The Broadway Phenomenon That Started It All. In this delightful conversation Marilu shares impromptu performances of songs that never made it out of the Chicago production, and tells us why she turned down her initial offer to be in the show in New York. You will also hear about the wild times and amorous adventures that a dynamic young cast of future stars got up to on tour, as well as the immense contribution of Grease's choreographer Pat Birch, the infamous tight pants that Barry thinks helped win him a Tony Award, and much, much more. Shock Treatment (1981) The follow-up to Rocky Horror Picture show is a sequel to the cult classic but not a direct sequel.  Many Rocky Horror cast members returned for the film, but only Jeremy Newson reprised his role as Ralph Hapschatt. However, due to his title of "Judge", some fans have speculated that Gray is also reprising his role of the unnamed Criminologist. In addition to actors from Rocky Horror, other alums filled out the cast. Many of the original film's Transylvanians appeared as audience members, while Imogen Claire was given the slightly-larger part of the Wardrobe Mistress. Raynor Bourton, who originated the titular role of Rocky in the stage production, portrayed one of the singing soldiers in "Thank God I'm a Man", and Chris Malcolm, who originated the role of Brad Majors, was cast as Vance Parker, a local police officer. Founder and long-time president of Rocky Horror fan club, Sal Piro, also has a silent cameo appearance as the man using the payphone during the opening sequence.  The film would later be turned into a stage musical in 2017 in London, England Streets of Fire (1984) A 1984 American neo-noir rock musical film directed by Walter Hill and co-written by Hill and Larry Gross. The film is described in its opening credits and posters as "A Rock & Roll Fable" and is a mix of various movie genres with elements of retro-1950s woven into then-current 1980s themes.  According to Hill, the film's origins came out of a desire to make what he thought was a perfect film when he was a teenager, and put in all of the things that he thought were "great then and which I still have great affection for: custom cars, kissing in the rain, neon, trains in the night, high-speed pursuit, rumbles, rock stars, motorcycles, jokes in tough situations, leather jackets and questions of honor"  It would inspire Capcom's video game Final Fight. Bachman Turner Overdrive - My Wheels Won't Turn (1977)   Brian Protheroe - Pinball (1975) He had a small role in the 1978 film Superman as a co-pilot of Air Force One. In 1984 he played in the West End musical "Pump Boys and Dinettes" on piano and vocals and percussion.  Cher - Classification 1A (1971) Written by Sonny Bono. Tacky as ever. Especially the end.  Dave Clark Five - Put a Little Love In Your Heart (1969) Dunn & McCashen - Alright In The City (1970) Gary Glitter - Rock And Roll Part 5  (12" extended version) (1987) Produced by Trevor Horn. Wretched. Sometimes you get the feeling I don't like you at all.  O'Kaysions - Love Machine (1968) Their hit was "Girl Watcher". Creepy album cover.  Nat Dove and the Devils - Theme from "Petey Wheatstraw" (1977) I saw this movie a few days ago. Pretty entertaining.  Robey - One Night In Bangkok (1984) While Murray Head's "One Night In Bangkok" was just starting to climb the Billboard Hot 100, Canadian singer and actress (Louise) Robey hit the charts with her own version. It spent three weeks on the Hot 100 in March 1985, peaking at No. 77. Robey's version fared better on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, peaking at No. 5. Remember when I talked about Kid Creole appearing on this chart repeatedly? Same thing.  Roller Blade Trailer (1986) Sly & The Family Stone - Frisky (1973) The Archies - Bicycles Rollerskates & You (1969) The Checkmates - I Keep Forgetting (1970) "I Keep Forgettin'" is a song originally released by Chuck Jackson, written by Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller, and Garfield. This single is often cited as one of the most innovative yet least commercial singles written and produced by Leiber-Stoller. In 1982, Michael McDonald released a song titled "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)". The song's similarity to Jackson's "I Keep Forgettin'" resulted in Leiber and Stoller being given a songwriting credit. The Klowns - Lady Love (1970) The brainchild of songwriter Jeff Barry, The Klowns were formed on the success of the Archies. The band featured actor Barry Bostwick, who portrayed Brad Majors in Rocky Horror Picture Show. Unlike the Archies, the Klowns never achieved heavy chart success with their only Billboard Hot 100 entry, "Lady Love", which peaked at #95.  The Klowns - River Cruisin' (1970)  The Klowns - Honey Bunny Day (1970) Bob Dylan - It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) (Live) (1965)  Bob Dylan - Wigwam (1970) Bob Dylan - You're A Big Girl Now (1975) Donovan - Comin To You (1980) Donovan - A Well-Known Has-Been (1976) Donovan - Dare To Be Different (1977) Donovan - Rock and Roll Souljer (1974) Noosha Fox - More Than Molecules (1980) Noosha Fox - Odd Peculiar Strange (1980) Fox - Dejenina (1977) Nat Dove and the Devils - Theme from "Petey Wheatstraw" (1977) I programmed this song twice. Dur dur.  Procol Harum - A Salty Dog (1969) Wooden Horse - Loving Man (1972) Noosha Fox's folk group before Fox was formed. Sort of like Debbie Harry or Gail Garnett in reverse. I have played Fox's song "S-s-s-single Bed" a few times on my show. I really like it.  Chicago Line - Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop (1966) Bass player Louis Cennamo played on James Taylor's first album as well as being a member of the original version of the band Renaissance (pre-Annie Haslam). Kill me for knowing that.  Terry Knight - Saint Paul (1969) The Fortunes - Seasons In The Sun (1968) An English harmony beat group. Formed in 1963 in Birmingham, they first came to prominence and international acclaim in 1965, when "You've Got Your Troubles" broke into the US and UK Top 10s. So Terry Jacks' version was a cover of a cover, basically. The original, written by Jacques Brel, was translated (more or less) into English by Rod McKuen in 1964. His lyrics were a little more...adult... Adieu, Francoise, my trusted wife,  Without you, I'd have had a lonely life,  You cheated lots of times, but then,  I forgave you in the end,  Though your lover was my friend,  With your lovers everywhere,  Just be careful, I'll be there...   The Rollers - No Doubt About It (1981) Who does this sound like to you? I hear Toto. The Bay City Rollers, long removed (in '70s rock years) from fame, kept going for a while and released three records under the name The Rollers. They are not as bad as you might think. Sort of a Corporate Rock sound. No heart or soul, but no embarrassing shit, either, and YES, I have heard all three.  The Klowns - Yellow Sunglasses (1970)

Award-winning actor Barry Bostwick reminisces about The Rocky Horror Picture Show in this annual tribute to the bizarre cult classic. He also talks with Alan Levy, CEO of BlogTalkRadio, and other fans concerning the popular midnight shows connected with this outrageous movie. Bostwick, who played the key role of “Brad Majors,” Susan Sarandon’s naïve boyfriend, speaks candidly regarding his experiences connected with the film -- including weather problems, what it was like working with Susan Sarandon, his favorite scene in the movie, and much more. As an added attraction, filmmakers Larry Viezel and Shawn Stutler call in to preview Rocky Horror Saved My Life, their upcoming documentary about Rocky Horror fans.    Bostwick has appeared in over 100 films and television productions. He may be best-known as the clueless mayor on Spin City. However, he’s a triple-threat entertainer -- singer, dancer, actor -- who created the role of Danny Zuko in Grease on Broadway and won a Tony for his work in The Robber Bridegroom. He’s appeared in TV programs like CougarTown, Glee, Law & Order SVU, George Washington, and War and Remembrance (for which he earned a Golden Globe). Among Bostwick’s numerous movies are: Movie Movie; 101 Dalmatians II; Some Guy Who Kills People; and FDR: American Badass!

Just a completely normal episode! Nothing special to hear here at all! All four hosts are present, as is special guest and zoo-runner, Doctor Mike Pembleton! And no, the host segment is not exceedingly short, why do you ask? I am not sure what you mean--it can't be the case, since the episode is still a normal length, right? So I don't know what you mean. In this episode: A special, noir-styled episode of The Diner! Three episodes of This Day in History and Celebrity Where Are They Now In History featuring John Hodgman, Kermit the Frog, and Brad Majors! The much ballyhooed return of Frank Allen Interviews, with an exclusive interview with the infamous mister Frank Allen! The second episode of the miniseries Nathan Van Etten Saves Vermont in which Nathan deals with loss! A nifty smattering of listener mail! A Scapie cover of the Grateful Dead's hit song, "A Touch of Grey"! NOTHING ELSE AT ALL! Nope, nothing else! We will get by! Download it now! And, please, send us your questions, comments, suggestions, and alternate spellings to castinwax@gmail.com! As text or MP3s! We're not picky!
