Ivana Milicevic was a struggling stand-up comedienne, trying to win over crowds with her stories of the modeling business. In 1996, she made her film debut under the name Ivana Marina with a one-line role as a former girlfriend of Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. In 1997, she followed up with a guest role on NBC's Seinfeld and made guest appearances on several other television shows, including Royal Pains and playing the love interest of John Casey on Chuck. She played bit parts in Vanilla Sky and Love Actually, among her many other cameo appearances. Milicevic capitalized on her experience as a comedienne in a supporting role as Russian model Roxana Milla Slasnikova in the romantic comedy Head Over Heels. She appeared as a lookalike of Uma Thurman's character opposite Ben Affleck, trying to fool him into thinking she is Uma's character, in Paycheck. In a departure from her one-dimensional roles, Milicevic showed her dramatic talent in a supporting role as Milla Yugorsky in a dark and gritty drama Running Scared. In 2006, she started a recurring role on the CBS TV series Love Monkey. In 2006, Milicevic made a big step forward in her career appearing as Valenka , one of three Bond girls in Casino Royale. She is also known for her work on The 100, Hit Monkey, Strike Back, Banshee, Power, Gotham, Psych, House, Charmed, Friends, Seinfeld, Pushing Daisies, Castlevania, American Dad, Just Shoot Me and Buffy the Vampire Hunter! In this candid and insightful conversation, she opens up about her journey, including the surreal experience of joining Spring Awakening right after the Tony wins, the hard lessons of navigating a career beyond that first big break, and what it's like to take the stage in Wicked at a time when the show is having a massive pop culture moment. Greetings, Greetings, Greetings I'm Queen B.Divine, and welcome to the Cure is Conversation. As we transition towards the end of the astrological cycle, we're met with beautiful energy that sets the stage for new beginnings. Let's express gratitude to the universe for surrounding us with love and positivity. Today, I want to delve into the Sun in Pisces and offer insights into how this energy can impact us. It's crucial to manage our expectations when it comes to mental health tools. These tools are aids, not magic fixes, and understanding how to use them effectively can prevent disappointment. I also want to explore the concept of royalty. What does it truly mean to be royal? To me, royalty is about holding ourselves to a higher standard, connecting with our roots, and recognizing the divine gifts we've inherited. Speaking of gifts, I'll share some thoughts on digital wall art. Imagine dressing up your computer screen with inspiring visuals that uplift your spirits. It's a simple yet powerful way to infuse your space with positivity. Josh Tolle, RN ( @josh.tolle ) is our guest this week on Out of The Closet Sports. Long before he was a Registered Nurse and a Broadway Star living his Britney Spears' musical dream, Josh was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Don't worry folks, he still owns a terrible towel. Luke Prokop is out and proud and under a contract with an NHL team. Sean Avery is still an ally years after he came out publicly in favor of marriage equality. Is the NHL the gayest male pro league in the USA? Who better to discuss it than a Nurse and someone who played a patient on "Royal Pains"? Hello and Welcome, dear listener. Episode 86 is the beginning of a conversation with San Diego punk legend Chris Squire. Chris has done it all, he's run a record label, booked bands, done sound production, and he's either sung, played bass, guitar or drums in a ton of bands; PG13, The Tori Cobras, Belle Cora, Tit Wrench, Tiltwheel, Battalion of Saints, Russian Tremors, Kerosene, Tar Halos, Dark Sarcasm, TV Eye, Digital Leather, Bizarro Son, No Laughing Matter, Dog Boy, Royal Pains, Half On Tongue, Sloog, Blades, Unit Unit, Go Go Lords, King Wheelie, Plasticman, Cholla … to name most of them? Part one of the Squire story really starts around 1980 when he begins attending The San Diego School of the Creative and Performing Arts where he meets his guitar and boombox toting soon to be lifelong friend John Reis who introduces him to Dead Kennedys and Black Flag and sets him on a course that takes us through to Chris starting his first band PG13 later in the 80's. Amazingly, the first hardcore show he attends in 1984 is an Aggression and Ill Repute show at Fairmount Hall that my friends and I produced! A very cool factoid I did not know. Along the way, as Chris' story unfolds we get a road map of the SD punk family tree in the 80's that is a really great historical record, told in his engaging and colorful style the conversation is as compelling and entertaining as it is information dense. I'm glad to share this episode with you all and I'm looking forward to part two as well! Thank you for listening and for supporting the podcast! Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Bob Gunton, Legendary Actor, Star, “The Shawshank Redemption” About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Bob Gunton, is a veteran actor whose prolific body of work over the past 5 decades has created some of the most memorable roles in movies, on television and on the Broadway stage. On the big screen, he brought us “Chief George Earle” in "Demolition Man", “Mr. Pease” in “Delores Claiborne”, “Pritchett” in “Broken Arrow”, medical school dean Dr. Walcott in "Patch Adams", Cecil Dobbs in “The Lincoln Lawyer”, and Secretary of State Cyrus Vance in "Argo". But the one role, more than any other, that has guaranteed him cinematic immortality, is his chilling portrayal of the despicable Prison Warden “Samuel Norton” in "The Shawshank Redemption". On television, in addition to many guest appearances on shows like “Miami Vice”, “L.A. Law”, “CSI”, “Nip/Tuck”, “Boston Legal”, “Law & Order: SVU”, “The Blacklist”, and dozens more, he played Governor George Wallace in “Unconquered”, he played Tommy Dorsey in the 1992 miniseries “Sinatra”, he played President Woodrow Wilson in “Iron Jawed Angels”, he played President Nixon in “Elvis Meets Nixon”, and he played President Roosevelt twice: once in the TV movie, “Kingfish: A Story of Huey P. Long”, and again in the miniseries “World War 2: Behind Closed Doors”. He also had recurring roles, as Dr. Leonard Schrader on “Hothouse”, “Judge Homer Conklin” in “Courthouse”, “Mayor Smith” in “Peacemakers”, “Noah Taylor” in “Desperate Housewives”, the Secretary of Defense, then Chief of Staff, then Secretary of State “Ethan Kanin” on “Twenty-Four”, “Leland Owlsley” in "Daredevil", “General William Collins” in “Royal Pains”, and “Jeremiah Davis” in “Trial and Error”. And if all of that weren't enough, our guest is a Broadway superstar. He originated the role of “Juan Perón” in the Broadway premiere of Evita, receiving a Tony Award nomination AND a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. And he played the title role in the Broadway revival of “Sweeney Todd”, earning a second Tony Award nomination, and nominations for an Outer Critics Circle Award and a Drama Desk Award. His other Broadway credits include “King of Hearts”, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical, “How I Got That Story”, for which he won an Obie Award, a Clarence Derwent Award, and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Play, “Big River”, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical, and “The Great Ostrovsky”, for which he received a Barrymore Award Nomination for Excellence in Theatre. Tony Award-winner Laura Benanti joins The Art of Kindness with Robert Peterpaul to discuss the challenges of vulnerability in today's world, acts of kindness from Jennifer Lawrence on the set of No Hard Feelings, giving yourself grace as an artist and much more. Celebrated stage and screen actress Laura Benanti burst onto the scene at 18-years-old with a captivating performance as Maria in "The Sound of Music," on Broadway. Her talent was undeniable, setting the stage for a remarkable career. About a year after do-re-mi-ing... she earned a Tony Award nomination for her role in Swing! on Broadway. From there flowed a cascade of phenomenal performances and glittering awards, racking up 5 Tony noms total. Jake Longly, ex-pro baseball player turned restauranteur, is back where he belongs: relaxing on the beach in front of his restaurant in Gulf Shores, Alabama. His peace is interrupted, however, when he receives a call from his private investigator father—April Wilkerson has gone missing from Lindemann Farms, the rustic, yet posh, resort built by self-help and financial guru Jonathon Lindemann. Lindemann, founder of The Lindemann Method (TLM), recruits wealthy people to join his program, charging a hefty entry fee but in return promising huge financial gains and self-enlightenment. Jake's celebrity status makes him the best person for the case. When Jake and his girlfriend, Nicole, go on an undercover visit to Lindemann Farms, some suspicious activity makes them wonder about the legitimacy of TLM. Soon, a private conversation with one of the girls hired to work at the resort reveals their unorthodox, and immoral, recruitment methods. As the layers peel away, darker edges appear. Does Jonathon truly make money for his investors, or is he a scam artist? Is April merely the latest in a series of missing young women? Jake and Nicole need to find her, and soon, before TLM catches wind of their true reasons for visiting the farm. On this episode of The Marriage Life Coach Podcast, one of my dear friends comes to chat about the role of intuition in our careers and relationships, surviving versus actually enjoying your life, and how sometimes we live an amazing LOOKING life while we are actually struggling on the inside, and of course, navigating that. Jackie De Crinis is a veteran TV executive who has worked on some of my favorite shows, some even receiving Emmys and Golden Globes. She eventually found herself burnt out from show biz and decided to become a life coach. After her friends and family questioned her choice, they now see that coaching is her calling. In this episode we share an amazing story about some your favorite USA shows like White Collar and Royal Pains and also talk about Soul-Centered Communication, Self Love, and Thought Work. It is Super Bowl LVII weekend, and we have a treat for you. Our guest is television writer Jason Gavin, who got his big break when he got staffed on a show called Friday Night Lights. Kristin Iversen of Nylon wrote, "Friday Night Lights had achieved a rare trifecta in the world of prestige television: critical acclaim, cultishly adoring fans, and a genuinely wide audience (which, sadly, it didn't have when it aired on network television, but what are you going to do).' Jason's other credits include ROYAL PAINS, HAWAII FIVE-O, and ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO. Jason is a co-executive producer on the much-anticipated return of DARK WINDS, the number-one show on AMC+, and one of the executive producers on MARVEL's ECHO, out this summer.Jason talks about his first time in a writers' room; a fender-bender he got into as a writers' PA on NASH BRIDES and more.
Time Management Workshop About Geneva: GENEVA CARR is best known for her portrayal of Marissa Morgan on 6 seasons of the CBS television series BULL. Additional TV credits include Law & Order: SVU and Criminal Intent, Rescue Me, Younger, The Mysteries of Laura, Royal Pains, Elementary, The Good Wife, and Sex and the City. Film credits include Wonder Wheel, Love and Other Drugs, Ava's possessions, It's Complicated, College Road Trip, and the upcoming Asian Persuasion. Geneva earned a 2015 Tony Nomination for Lead Actress in a Play for her performance as ‘Margery' in Broadway's Hand To God. Additional NY theatre credits include Trevor, Just Sex, I Wanna Destroy You, Finding Claire, Rose's Dilemma, Clash by Night, Betty's Summer Vacation, and Boise. You have to create a space where you can find work for yourself. Bull was my eighth pilot, which I like telling actors about because it doesn't happen overnight. This was my eighth. Hand to God led to Bull on CBS. I did that for six seasons. And the truth is, nobody loves to audition as much as me because it's a 30-second movie starring me right now. I love to prepare. It's like going to the gym. It's like putting on a show. And you know that for 5 minutes, you have a captive audience. Casting directors want to like you. They want to get to know you. So if you can put your nerves aside and realize that it's a real treat to be in that room. You have to watch everything ON TV. “I don't put people on TV if they don't watch TV.” You can only be yourself. Maybe it's easier for me now because I know who I am. I'm not apologizing for who I am. I can't please everyone. But the truth is, I don't like everyone, and the more you are authentically yourself, the more you will work. If you want to build somebody up, give them an honest compliment. I had to go back to being an actor looking for work with a whole new toolkit. The Director Tells the Story Being a costar and a guest star has zero to do with being a series regular. It is very challenging being a series regular. Costars and guest stars- savor those opportunities to learn because a series regular is really hard.
