The Hidden Truth About Peter James' Latest Royal Thriller In THE HAWK IS DEAD (Pan Macmillan, On sale: October 21, 2025), Peter James challenges Roy Grace with the biggest, and most daunting, case of his career—solving what at first appears to be an assassination attempt on The Queen. The story begins on November 20, 2023, with Queen Camilla traveling on the Royal Train to the resort city of Brighton for a scheduled visit to the first of two hospices. What should have been a proud moment for the locals spirals into disaster when the train is derailed just north of the city inside a railway tunnel. Moments after The Queen and her entourage make it out to daylight, cell service, and the promise of safety, they are startled by a sharp cracking sound and a grisly shock—a head exploding, literally, spattering blood, bone, and brain all over The Queen's clothing. The victim is Sir Peregrine Greaves, Her Majesty's trusted Private Secretary. Was poor Perry the intended target? Or was, as everyone else believes, the sniper's bullet really meant for Queen Camilla? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Peter James is one of the UK's bestselling authors who's Detective Grace series now hosts Queen Camila in a staring role, by Royal request, in his latest novel "The Hawk is Dead". But this isn't his first familial involvement with the Royal family, as his mother was the official glovemaker to Queen Elizabeth II.Jim Ashworth-Beaumont was a former army veteran and skilled prosthetics expert - until one day a dramatic crash with a lorry, whilst out cycling, left him needing his own expertise.Elizabeth Ashdown is one of only 4 remaining passementerie artists in the UK – a trade that creates elaborate decorative trimmings, such as tassels and trim for the clothing of Kings and furnishings of stately homes. Also, someone else who is keeping ancient heritage skills alive is Russell Parker who comes to us LIVE from the Cotswold Hedgelaying championships to tell us all about the craft. All that...plus the Inheritance Tracks of Philippa Gregory.Presenter: Adrian Chiles Producer: Ben Mitchell Assistant Producer: Lowri Morgan Researcher: Jesse Edwards Editor: Colin Patterson

All those who purchase the June box will be entered to win a fun pair of earrings! https://www.mommadeplans.com/box -- Gentle parenting is a buzz word with a lot of connotations. Hopefully you've learned it's not gentle in the way of being easy and passive, but incredibly intentional and intuitive for better outcomes that include more empathy and understanding with our kids. Thankfully we have people like Peter James who have connected the dots to see how it really is rooted in the way God loves us and parents us. It's incredible to see the methods taught today show up in Bible times of how God interacted with his people. Don't miss the methods shared today in how to really connect with God in our parenting so that we show our kids more than a checklist of rules. Learn how we build connection with God. And of course the practical takeaway thats easy to remember and implement in the day to day. About Peter James: Peter Daniel James is a father of four who discovered a need in the Christian parenting world for a book that bridges the gap between 30,000 ft. principles and daily application. It helps parents discover their own solutions to their own unique parenting challenges, using frameworks, questionnaires, and other tools.
