Zep Dexter… Deb Jebster… Jeb Debster… (S4E12 - Criss Angel Is a Douche Bag) So, the boys are barely even in this one, and it's not really an episode of Supernatural. Three special guest stars - Barry Bostwick, Richard Libertini, and John Rubinstein - carry the entire episode. They play late-career magicians performing at a convention that Sam and Dean are investigating for a job. And just like when you're a kid and you're in that phase where you put on a little show for the family, we — ... well… I think you can tell the three of us never really grew out of that phase on this episode of 3 Idjits In A Pod! This episode's guest is actor, writer, voiceover artist, and unapologetic improv nerd, Roxana Ortega.Roxana is one of those rare artists whose vulnerability, honesty, and humor hit you all at once – and leave a lasting impression. If her voice sounds familiar, it might be because she's voiced everything from the passionate Frida Casagrande on The Casagrandes to characters in Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, and Monsters at Work. She's narrated Pulitzer Prize-winning novels, voiced countless animated characters, and is a master of voice matching (yes, she's dubbed for Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek). In our conversation, Roxana takes us through the unexpected path that led her to acting – from growing up in an academic household where creativity wasn't considered a “real” career, to having a life-changing epiphany while teaching English in Spain. We talk about the internal battle between playing it safe and going after what you truly want—and what it really means to decide to be an artist. We go deep into the power of improv as both a performance tool and a life philosophy, how failure can be a gift, and why community-building and representation matter now more than ever. Roxana shares how she uses her voice – literally and figuratively – to make space for underrepresented stories, and how she's continued to evolve as a writer, performer, and director.Whether you're someone who thrives on stage or someone working up the courage to take the leap, Roxana's journey will remind you that embracing risk, staying curious, and being fiercely yourself is always worth it.Episode Chapters 00:00 – Welcome + Introduction02:00 – Names, Language, and Laughter04:00 – Academic Roots & Artistic Restlessness07:55 – The Epiphany in Spain13:49 – “I Decided to Be an Actor”16:00 – Improv, Joy, and Redefining Failure21:45 – Performing, Directing, and Creating Her Own Work32:00 – Representation, Identity, and Making Space40:00 – The Tapestry of Humanity49:30 – Amazing Race Nerd Out50:50 – Blissful Spinster & Making Art on Your Own Terms54:35 – Final Words of Wisdom55:14 – What's Next for Roxana58:00 – Wrap-Up & Thank YouRoxana's Bio:Roxana Ortega is an American actor, writer, and voiceover artist who is known for voicing the ever-emotional Frida Casagrande on Nickelodeon's Emmy award-winning and Imagen award-winning cartoon The Casagrandes, a spinoff of the acclaimed series The Loud House.On-camera, she recently starred opposite Danny Trejo, Reno Wilson, and a cast of legends including Garrett Morris, Barry Bostwick, and James Hong in the Universal feature Grand-Daddy Day Care. Other film credits include The Flight Before Christmas opposite Mayim Bialik, Miss Congeniality 2 opposite Sandra Bullock, and Larry Crowne opposite Tom Hanks. Her TV guest-star credits include New Girl, Shonda Rhimes' For The People, The League, Rules of Engagement, NCIS, and the Peabody award-winning satire American Vandal.Behind the mic, she has voiced countless characters in TV, films, trailers, commercials, and some of the biggest video game franchises around, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Final Fantasy, Halo, and Ghost Recon: Wildlands. A two-time AudioFile Earphones Award winner, she has narrated the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel A Visit from the Goon Squad, the National Book Award finalist Sabrina & Corina, and the New York Times's non-fiction best seller Random Family to name just a few. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, then spent a year teaching English in Madrid, Spain. It was there, while she was elaborately acting out English vocabulary to her students, that she realized she wanted to pursue a career in acting. She returned to the Bay Area and immersed herself in theatre and improvisation, then made her way to Los Angeles where she continued her improv and acting training and began writing and performing sketch comedy.Roxana is an alumna of the CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase, Upright Citizen's Brigade, and the Groundlings Sunday Company. She has written and produced her own shorts and performed storytelling all over Los Angeles, including at The Moth GrandSLAM.She is also the creator and co-host of the live storytelling show Minority Retorts, which spotlights stories from the under-represented, and The Risking Space, a podcast about art and risk. "I would like, if I may... to take you... on a strange journey." We're finally doing the Time Warp this week on the podcast and talking about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" with our friend Jackson Cooper. Call it the mother of all cult films, and brain child of its star Richard O'Brien, this odd ball musical that was far ahead of its time has racked up countless loyal fans and we're still analyzing this fever dream almost five decades later! Janet and Brad (Susan Surandon and Barry Bostwick) are a couple of newly-engaged bores who suffer a breakdown one fateful dark and stormy night, outside the castle of Dr. Fank-N-Furter - a scientist - and all hell breaks loose. The iconic big screen debut of Tim Curry as Frank and his rag tag group of glam rock misfits turned the worlds of movies, music and fashion on their heads and the world has never been the same since. The high camp extravaganza has inspired midnight showings - continuosly for the past 49 years - with ravenous fans from around the world performing "shadow casts" of the film for the live audiences - a true spectacle. Frank, Riff Raff, Magenta, Columbia and Rocky himself have inspired generations of us queers with the mantra "Don't dream it, Be it!" Oh, and if you don't know the dance it's real easy to learn... "It's just a jump to the left. And then a step to the right!" Note: There's a slight audio issue on this episode that resulted in some of the audio being a bit choppy, it appears to be a one-time problem, and we did what we could with it. KJ knows way too much about Criss Angel this week and Meredith, Ella (The Cas Cast) and JJ (jjbwaywatch) are all forced to listen to it. JJ rates this episode out of Taco Bell Tacos and it makes the most perfect sense. The crew does some math as we get an update on the lost seals situation. There's a lot of homoerotic subtext in this one, and it could not be ignored. CW Episode Description: A mysterious death draws Sam and Dean to a town full of old-school magicians. Their investigation leads them to Charlie (guest star John Rubinstein), Jay (guest star Barry Bostwick) and Vernon (guest star Richard Libertini), three friends who were famous magicians in their day but have now been replaced by flashier, younger magicians. One of them has made a deal to acquire real magical powers, but the price was extremely high. Sam and Dean must figure out a way to reverse the spell before others are harmed.Episode recorded on September 30, 2023.Thank you to Loki for editing assistance on this episode.Linktree including sign up sheet to be on the podcast and our Discord server: https://linktr.ee/SupernaturalOpinionsPodcastGuest social medias:Meredith (tiktok, instagram and Tumblr): shaedsofdeianeiraElla: everywhere at The Cas Cast: https://thecascast.carrd.co/JJ (tiktok and twitter): jjbwaywatch

About "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled" Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled was directed by Kevin Fair. Martha Williamson wrote the script. Eric Mabius (Oliver O'Toole) Kristin Booth (Shane) Crystal Lowe (Rita) Geoff Gustafson (Norman) Many of our favorite supporting characters return in this movie: Gregory Harrison as Joe O'Toole, Barry Bostwick as Rita's dad Bill, Zak Santiago as Ramon, Carol Burnett as Ardis, Jill Morrison as Hazel, Keb Mo as Gabe. Janet Kidder plays Annaliese. Janet has 72 acting credits which includes "Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas" and "Christmas for Keeps" for Hallmark. She was also in "The Man in the High Castle" and "Star Trek Discovery." Jessica Sipos plays daughter Jessica. Jessica has 24 acting credits. This was her first appearance on Hallmark having previously appeared on UnREAL. For Hallmark she has also been in "Chesapeake Shores," "A Season for Family," and "Betty's Bad Luck in Love." Barbara Wallace plays wedding dress designed Evelyn. Barbara has 48 acting credits as well as 70 stage credits. For Hallmark she has also recently appeared in "To All a Good Night," "The Cases of Mystery Lane," and "The Christmas Contest." Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" What We Loved There was so much to love about 'To the Altar' that it's hard to know where to start! Firstly, we adored the chemistry between the main characters—particularly the friendship between Norman and Oliver. Those tuxedo scenes? Pure gold. Oliver's tender moment of buttoning up Shane's wedding dress was a beautiful touch. Nice directing from Kevin Fair on that one! Norman's horror-stricken face at his bachelor party when he saw the cake was hilarious. And let's not forget Oliver's freakout about shrimp sauce at the same event! On the emotional front, the portrayal of Annalise and Jessica's reunion struck a chord. Writer Martha Williamson tackled the complicated issues of mental health and homelessness with such grace and nuance; it left us in tears. The connection between Rita's loss and Jessica's reconnection with Annalise was a poignant example of beautifully woven storytelling. And who could overlook Keb Mo's soulful singing? Hearing him perform just elevated our viewing experience. Finally, the proposal scene between Shane and Oliver was everything we hoped for. Seeing Oliver wear the tie was a moment that had us gasping and reaching for tissues. What We Wished For Even in Hallmark heaven, there are a few things that could have used a bit of tweaking. First on our wish list is more closure for Colleen Camp's character, Sonny. Her sudden spelunking accident felt abrupt and left us wanting more context. While we learned from various sources that there were off-screen issues that might have led to this plot choice, the transition was jarring. Speaking of specifics, cave diving or "spelunking" as the cause of death seemed unusually dark for Hallmark standards.
Adam welcomes comedian Erica Rhodes back to the show and they open by talking about her recent successes on “America's Got Talent” & “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and her recent failure with a French bartender. Though largely, and justifiably, forgotten since its release on June 25, 1982, Hal Needham's Megaforce is a truly breathtaking experience. And we don't necessarily mean “breathtaking” in a positive way. This week, Paul, Javi and — of course — Producer Brad take one for the team and come back much changed, chafed, and itching to chat through this grand guignol of gunfire, explosions and toxic masculinity. The manly men of Megaforce may live by the slogan “Deeds not words”, but so many of those deeds are duds, and we have witty, wise words of warning! It is truly one of the most mystifying films from the summer of '82, and we watched it so you don't have to.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 independent musical comedy horror film produced by Lou Adler and Michael White, directed by Jim Sharman, and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The screenplay was written by Sharman and actor Richard O'Brien, who is also a member of the cast. Subscribe today for access to our full catalog of bonus episodes, including 2+ new episodes every month! www.patreon.com/boysbiblestudy The fictional First Family of conservative entertainment, THE POTWINS, are back with new episodes of their show after a several year hiatus. Portrayed by an all star cast, including Kevin Sorbo, Barry Bostwick, and special guest star Jon Lovitz, THE POTWINS are a family of greatly differing political views who still manage to find common ground with each other. We previously reviewed this show in its earlier incarnation as THE WORLD ACCORDING TO BILLY POTWIN, which starred Jonah Britton (possibly the son of writer/director Lenny Britton) as an intellectually precocious young libertarian who is able to mischievously outsmart all the adults in his life, especially the dumb liberals. Billy is back but takes a smaller role in favor of Kevin Sorbo's lead role as patriarch Nate Potwin, whose more sensible, “Can't we all just get along?” vibe echoes the theme of the show. THE POTWINS is now being marketed as the official show of X (formerly Twitter), despite a lack of official endorsement from X CEO Elon Musk or any other X staff. Nevertheless, new THE POTWINS episodes are being uploaded on there with the handle @TheShowOnX in case you were ever craving watching a 20 minute conservative sitcom on your phone as you scroll through memes. The debut episode of THE POTWINS is called “Blue Caller” and it's a comedy of errors where an idiotic liberal gay couple is suing Nate Potwin when a misunderstanding leads them to believe Nate is violating their constitutional rights by denying them service at his hardware store. Has the whole world gone mad? (This is literally a line from the show.) In 1991, Broadway witnessed one of its most spectacular falls from grace with Nick & Nora, a musical adaptation of the beloved The Thin Man novel and film series. With a dream team that included Arthur Laurents, the creative force behind classics like West Side Story and Gypsy, Charles Strouse, the prolific composer of Bye Bye Birdie and Annie, and Richard Maltby Jr., known for Ain't Misbehavin', this show had all the makings of a hit. The star-studded cast featured Barry Bostwick and Joanna Gleason, among others. However, despite the promise on paper, Nick & Nora faced an unprecedented series of delays, setbacks, and ultimately, a one-week run. This episode sheds light on why the show faced so many challenges, from those who were there every step of the way. We explore the explosive clashes, financial woes, and behind-the-scenes drama that led to Nick & Nora's abrupt closure, serving as a cautionary tale that even Broadway's brightest stars can find themselves lost in the shadows. Bostwick has also had considerable success in musical theatre, winning a Tony Award for his role in The Robber Bridegroom.Universal Studios Hollywood is adding a Fast and the Furious roller coaster to its theme park. The coaster is going to have a drift effect like the cars in the movie do Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning director Christopher McQuarrie tells Games Radar that he almost used de-aging technology to make Tom Cruise appear younger at the beginning of the film. "Originally, there had been a whole sequence at the beginning of the movie that was going to take place in 1989, We talked about it as a cold open, we talked about it as flashbacks in the movie, we looked at de-aging. One of the big things about [the de-aging] I was looking at while researching, I kept saying, 'Boy, this de-aging is really good' or 'This de-aging is not so good.' Never did I find myself actually following the story. I was so distracted by an actor that I had known for however long was now suddenly this young person.”The Daily Star says Hugh Grant is under fire for playing an Oompa Loompa in the new Willy Wonka film. Little People actors are furious that he was cast as a little person. Former WWE wrestling star Hornswoggle says, “Don't get me started on the forthcoming Willy Wonka movie. In Mel Stuart's 1971 version, he cast 10 dwarfs to play the Oompa Loompas. In Tim Burton's 2005 remake, the role went to 4ft 4in Gurdeep Roy, who was digitally cloned. So why has the role now gone to 5ft 11in Hugh Grant? People need to see real dwarf actors in blockbuster fantasy movies.”The Daily Mail says Jennifer Garner is taking boxing classes in Los Angeles to prepare for her role as Elektra in ''Deadpool 3''.Tom Holland says getting sober has been one of the best things he's done in his life. Entertainment Tonight quotes him as saying, “I didn't one day wake up and say I'm giving up drinking. I just, like many Brits had, had a very, very boozy December, Christmas time I was on vacation, I was drinking a lot, and I've always been able to drink a lot. I think I get my genes from my mum's side in that thing, not I can, I can drink. And I decided to just give up for January. I just wanted to do dry January and all I could think about was having a drink. That's all I could think about. I was waking up thinking about it. I was checking the clock, when's at 12pm? And it just really scared me. I just was like, wow. Maybe. Maybe I have a little bit of an alcohol thing. So I sort of decided to punish myself and say, I'll do February as well. I'll do two months off. If I can do two months off, then I can prove to myself that I don't have a problem. Two months go by and I was still really struggling. I felt like I couldn't be social. I felt like I couldn't go to the pub and have a lime soda. I couldn't go out for dinner. I was really, really struggling and I started to really worry that maybe I had an alcohol problem.”The Daily Mail says Tom Cruise wants to star in a movie with Margot Robbie. A source tells the newspaper, 'He's got his eyes on his next project and wants Margot to be his leading lady. Tom and Margot made 'tentative plans' to meet up and discuss the project when they return to Los Angeles,

On this week's episode, the guys are joined by Sammy from the GGTMC and Jose from Watch/Skip+ to discuss a big box office bomb from 1982, Megaforce. Released in a crowded market, Megaforce was quickly dropped from theaters but has since earned a cult following.
