Ben Falcone isn't exactly known for making kid-friendly projects. His films with wife and frequent collaborator Melissa McCarthy are "R-rated quite often, but I do think there's a certain sweetness that we usually try to hit." And it's that sweetness he's bringing to his first kids' book, What's Scarier Than Thunder? "My secret goal is that it's something that kids will think is funny, but that parents will, too." The story follows Claire, who is afraid of thunderstorms. For future stories, Falcone sees many other things to be scared of: "Heights, first day of school, remember that one? Meeting someone new, auditions..." Another story he's actively involved with is the podcast Hildy the Barback and the Lake of Fire, which he created with McCarthy and Steve Mallory. "There's going to be a season two, so we're excited." And even though "the industry is clearly changing," Falcone says he believes in comedy. "Melissa and I, our big goal is to try to be a very small part of the bigger push to get comedies back in the theaters. Sète, où le musicien s'est installé depuis trois ans avec son épouse et une bonne partie de leur petite tribu, notamment sa fille Oriane, du groupe Bonbon Vodou.René Lacaille voit le jour en 1946 à St-Leu à La Réunion dans une famille de musiciens qui jouent du séga, du quadrille créole, des valses et des polkas dans les bals poussière, les fêtes de campagnes et les mariages. Dès son plus jeune âge, René embrasse la musique et l'accordéon comme instrument de prédilection. Après son service militaire en métropole, René apprend le solfège avec son grand frère et s'immerge dans le joyeux bouillon de Mai-68 à Paris. De retour au péi, René goûte au séga-jazz avec Luc Donat puis forme, en 1976, le groupe culte Caméléon avec Alain Peters, Bernard Brancard, Hervé Imare, Joël Gontier et Loy Ehrlich ; ensemble ils électrisent maloya et séga à la sauce psychédélique.Retour dans l'hexagone, René Lacaille met ses talents de multi-instrumentiste au service d'artistes comme George Moustaki, Manu Dibango ou Jacques Higelin. A questi veri e propri “Robin” dei bartender è dedicato l'evento “Barback Games”, il contest di Fernet-Branca nato per celebrare questa importante figura del mondo della mixology. Quest'anno, la sfida avrà luogo per la prima volta a Milano, in occasione di MIxology Experience, che si terrà dal 7 al 9 Maggio presso SuperStudio Maxi.

Il était une fois 4 enfants devenus des ogres: Alice, Mathilde, Sam et Fred Burguière. Tous frères et sœurs qui en 94 ont créé les "Ogres de Barback". Pedro Shanahan had about 10 years of experience working in bars before joining the team at all Seven Grand Whiskey Bar in Downtown Los Angeles, a Pouring With Heart bar concept. Pour SessionLab, Hortense Volle s'est aventurée dans l'antre des Ogres de Barback. De la région parisienne où ils ont grandi, à l'Ardèche (sud-est de la France) où ils ont installé leur label et leur studio, portrait d'un groupe familial de chanson française alternative. Les Ogres de Barback, c'est un groupe familial qui parcours les routes de France et d'ailleurs depuis plus de 25 ans. "Groupe familial" car Alice, Mathilde, Fred et Sam Burguière, qui auront entre 43 et 46 ans en cette année 2022, sont frères et sœurs. Ensemble, ces quatre artistes multi-instrumentistes signent une chanson française métissée où se côtoient accordéon, guitare, violoncelle et piano, mais aussi trompette, trombone à coulisse, tuba, violon, scie musicale, épinette des Vosges et j'en passe. Je les ai vus en concert récemment et c'était sacrément impressionnant : pas moins de 35 instruments en plateau, sans compter ceux de leurs invités et notamment 4 cuivres de la fanfare béninoise Eyo'nlé ! Plus de 25 ans après leurs débuts, toujours dans la plus totale indépendance et, il faut bien aussi le dire, sans grand soutien médiatique, les Ogres de Barback ont donné pas loin de 2 000 concerts (du premier dans un squat à ceux, récents, à l'Olympia ou au Zénith de Paris) ; ont plus de 20 références discographiques au compteur et, surtout, ont signé un paquet de titres devenus des classiques. Les Ogres de Barback estiment que leur "métier d'artisans" consiste à aller à la rencontre des gens.
