Round 2 of Movie Matchup March is here, and this time, it's a battle of Leslie Nielsen comedies! First up: Spy Hard, a James Bond parody—though if you asked this crew to define “parody,” you'd be in for a very long night. Then, it's Wrongfully Accused, a Fugitive spoof that throws subtlety out the window… and then crashes through that window on a runaway train. To help dissect the chaos, Troy and Brad are dragging their good pal Nate back into the madness for his expert opinions on slapstick and spoofs. Will this episode turn into another round of Breaking Brad? And does Leslie Nielsen's comedy still hold up in 2025, or has the world moved on from guys getting hit in the face with frying pans? Download now and find out!Spy Hard is directed by Rick Friedberg and stars Leslie Nielsen, Nicollette Sheridan, Charles Durning, Marcia Gay Harden, Barry Bostwick, and Andy GriffithWrongfully Accused is directed Pat Proft and stars Leslie Nielsen, Richard Crenna, Kelly LeBrock, Sandra Bernhard, Michael York, and Melinda McGrawNot A Bomb has has plenty of spooky designs in our Merch store! I kan bl.a. se frem til klassikere fra Anne Linnet, News, Thomas Helmig, Alberte, One Two, Danseorkestret, Tøsedrengene, Back To Back, Lis Sørensen, Rocazino, Poul Krebs og mange mange flere.

A story about unitards, technology run amok, an angry ghost, and a huge liability case. Listen in as me and guest, Devon, slip on our leg warmers and pop in our jazzercise mixtape to see what's the haps with this week's flick. Directed by Michael Fischa (My Mom's a Werewolf, Crack House) and written by James Bartruff (Death Spa, What's Happening Now!) and Mitch Paradise (Death Spa, Bleacher Bums), Filmmonthly called the film "a goofy, gory, unpretentious good time," and the Lair of Filth said it "is sleazy, cheesy and bone-snappingly entertaining viewing." Yea, I agree. It's pretty silly and really fun. It tells the story of Michael Evans (William Bumiller, Species, Boat Trip) as he tries to run his sexy and popular gym, Starbodies Health Spa, while a series of mysterious injuries and deaths begin. He suspects his ex-brother-in-law, David (Merritt Butrick, Star Trek 2, Star Trek 3), and his computer system that runs the gym may be to blame. His buddy Marvin (Ken Foree, Dawn of the Dead, From Beyond) just wants to toss the ol' pigskin around and wear short-shorts. Of course, the pissed off ghost of Michael's wife, Catherine (Shari Shattuck, One Deadly Ground, Spy Hard), has her own agenda in the spa. It's goofy, violent, and just plain fun. The film is currently available on Tubi, Plex, and Prime Video.

Crazy 8’s is what we have here as we bring you Ep 88 of Norm Nathan’s Vault of Silliness. We love it when you like, subscribe and share our moments of madness. Don’t be afraid to do that on whichever service you use to allow us to tickle your ears with fun. A DBG from May 25th, 1996 closes out this month and leads us into the long Memorial Day weekend. Because the Game features many birthdays from the fairer sex, this one is titled: Ladies Night. We begin with an appreciation for Jack’s traffic advice as well as his summer fashion awareness and then it’s on to the game. The Players: Jack Harte I’m on the phone and looking not to make people laugh (which is very presumptuous of me) but for people to make me laugh. Call me crazy…and Norm doesn’t hesitate to call me something else! Mr. Direct, Tom Howie producing and playing in studio The slow talking, possibly inebriated, Kevin in Jamaica Plain Kathy in Altoona, PA – a virgin player but requests “no sacrifices.” And Scott in Wayland The Bdays: Karen Valentine – we have a ‘hearty’ time with her. The Lone Ranger and Tonto stop by. Also, Norm recites a ‘poem.’ Leslie Uggams Dixie Carter Beverly Sills – and an operatic debate ensues Connie Sellecca – and I injure myself with whilst reaching for a pun K.C. Jones Kitty Kallen And Hal David Other highlights include: Norm sharing observations because he’s a ‘relations expert.’ And the relations discussed should really be re-examined by a trained professional. I had seen Spy Hard with Leslie Nielsen and give an in-depth review. We learn that Norm’s mother in-law had no sense of humor. Nor did Shirley, his date to the prom. Norm still cleaning out his house to put together prize packages. Maybe a bag of ashes is suggested. Why? Norm had a small fire at his house, “Just in the house, in the walls and things, didn’t amount to anything, the usual type of wall fire.” I also had recently watched, “The Benny Goodman Story” with Steve Allen on AMC and give another in-depth review that’s not to be missed. A scoring update could be the beginning of a dirty joke. We get a nice Sherm Feller history lesson from Uncle Norm. And there may be some angry letters to the rules committee. Episode 88, Ladies Night, begins…now. Email the show: normnathanvos@gmail.com

The '90s. America Online, Windows 95, "Friends". It was a hell of a decade. And this week, we're concluding our deep dive into the many spoofs and parodies the decade had to offer like "Forgotten Silver", "Wrongfully Accused", "Top of the Food Chain" and "Spy Hard".It's a tale that involves Peter Jackson getting meta, stylistic satires of ‘50s alien invasion pictures, and Leslie Nielsen spying and also going on the lam.Join your wonky yet affable host! This Week's Recommendation(s): “Grindhouse" (2006)For every single episode at least a week early and great WEEKLY bonus episodes, become a Patreon subscriber. This was the movie that saw Leslie Neilsen's magic start to wane. Was it still funny? In parts, but it was mostly awful. We take a look at the first of the worst to dotted the end of his filmography. We also give away a brand new award in our final segment. Also, during awards time, things get a little crazy and what happens can only be referred to as the Flip-Flop incident Follow the show on Facebook: www.facebook.com/BadMoviesRule Email the show at ThisShowIsTrash@gmail.com Follow us on tiktok.com/@hausofwhaaa
Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss the first film of the Suicide Squad duology. Bad guys help a rogue group commit morally ambiguous deeds to save the world in a convoluted fashion whilst predictable music drops accompany them. Starring Ike Barinholtz, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie & Will Smith. Based on the cult DC comics created by Robert Kanigher, Ross Andru, and John Ostrander, Suicide Squad has too complicated a plot for its own good. Such a thing is a bit of a risk when you have over half a dozen characters in the titular group (see also X-Men), but a long series of character intros before the main story gets started doesn't help things. An Academy Award winner for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Suicide Squad makes some bold visual choices; some work (Harley Quinn), some don't (Joker). A grey boring desaturated color palette during the action scenes and a theatrical cut that is softer than what director David Ayer intended (no, the Extended Cut is not his director's cut, although it's a slight improvement) don't help things either. To misquote the late Leslie Neilsen from Spy Hard, Suicide Squad is "no Gouda!" Leslie Nielsen was the undisputed king of the spoof film and Bond had escaped his withering deadpan style until this 1996 effort. Spy Hard gathered a plethora of comedy stars & pop-culture cameos and featured a theme-tune by the king of parody songs. So why does no-one talk about this film anymore? It's lesser-known, even within the Bond fan community, and copies of the film are hard to find. Is this a lost gem or a steaming pile? I think you know.

Award-winning actor Barry Bostwick discusses The Rocky Horror Picture Show in a Movie Addict Headquarters vintage tribute to that bizarre cult classic. He also talks with Alan Levy, co-founder and CEO of BlogTalkRadio, concerning the popular midnight shows connected with this outrageous movie. Bostwick, who played the key role of “Brad Majors” (Susan Sarandon’s naïve boyfriend), speaks candidly about his experiences connected with the film -- including weather problems, what it was like working with Sarandon, his favorite scene in the movie, and much more. Bostwick has appeared in over 100 films and television productions. Although best-known as the clueless mayor on Spin City, he’s a triple-threat entertainer -- singer, dancer, actor -- who created the role of Danny Zuko in Grease on Broadway and won a Tony for his work in The Robber Bridegroom. He’s appeared in such TV programs as Cougar Town, Glee, Scrubs, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, Las Vegas, George Washington, and War and Remembrance (for which he earned a Golden Globe). Among Bostwick’s numerous movies are: Movie Movie; 101 Dalmatians II; Spy Hard; Some Guy Who Kills People; and FDR: American Badass. Let's do The Time Warp again!
Tally-Ho and other classic Leslie Nielsen phrases! This week the Pauls begin their trip down 90s Lane, avoiding as they shamble the glassy stares of the remaining members of Take That, murky old coins with Craig Charles' face on them and the battle for Cool Britannia, which was literally a war waged literally on our literal childhoods via Hot Teen Music. We saw a bunch of movies back then, just like now, the difference being we were slightly less discerning in our early years. Exhibit A: Spy Hard. It seemed like pretty much the number one comedy of our generation when we were still wearing Polos for poverty glasses and Hula Hoops for underage poverty wedding rings. All the lads and dads RAVED the Spy News. And now...? Featuring: Reject Blue, home truths about our good friends at Baby Beard, the George Lucas defence, a real Joker movie and Brad “Fat Casper” Garrett. https://open.spotify.com/show/3rBG7cpLYwIr4ujEZE4R2Khttps://ogtpod.podbean.comhttps://facebook.com/ogtpodhttps://twitter.com/ogtpod We now have a Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/ogtpod - sign up for exclusive content for as little as $1 a month. The final episode of April Fool's Month is upon us, and we are closing out Nielsen Month with a special nostalgic trip to a childhood seminal favorite of Marty's: Spy Hard. Does it hold up? Scott also takes us across the pond as we review a couple of songs from the Liverpool rock band "The Beatles" and Marty presents a wand replica (as well as a wand based quiz!)
If you dip your balls in soy sauce, can you taste it? How many nights in a row can you tell the restaurant staff that it's your friends birthday? Do Werther's Original taste better when you sit on your grandfather's knee? These questions and more are explored on this month's movie night, we hardly discuss the movie (Spy Hard).

Six (count them - SIX!) Oscar nominated actors took a look at this garbage script and STILL signed up to do it. It's absolutely nonsensical. It's painfully boring. And it ALL sucks butt. Blech. It's like they tried to say something in this film but had no idea what that was before they reached the end of the writing, so they just crammed in a bunch of nonsense to try to make a statement. If anyone can decipher what that statement is.... The acting stinks but not in a fun way. It looks like garbage but not in a fun way. In fact, I'm over this POS. I don't want to talk about it any more. Streaming Do's and Don'ts Prom Night - Amazon Prime Spy Hard - Netflix Sleepaway Camp - Amazon Prime

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Horror Icon Michael Berryman. Late 1970s horror genre icon, Michael Berryman, is best known for his creepy performance as “Pluto” in the uncompromising Wes Craven horror film The Hills Have Eyes. Berryman (who suffers from Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia, a rare condition leaving him with no sweat glands, hair, fingernails or teeth) giving him a brutish look just right for horror movies. To Berryman's credit, he managed to develop upon his “Pluto” character, and has turned up in numerous sci-fi/fantasy movies such as My Science Project, Weird Science, Armed Response, Evil Spirits, The Devil's Rejects and more. George Pal cast Michael in the Western Doc Savage, then shortly after that Milos Forman discovered and cast Michael in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Movie Meltdown - Episode 399 This week we are coming to you "live" from WonderFest where we are joined by this week's special guest... actor Brian Howe. One of the hardest working and most impressive actors in the business, Brian's been featured in Westworld, Catch Me If You Can, The Pursuit of Happyness, American Horror Story, Gran Torino, Annabelle, K-PAX, The Majestic, Déjà Vu, Evan Almighty, Lie to Me, Criminal Minds, Masters of Sex, House of Lies, The Newsroom, Nikita, Justified - and of course, he's one of the cast of regulars in the Larry Blamire films (The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, Dark and Stormy Night, Trail of the Screaming Forehead, The Lost Skeleton Returns Again). And in between our bouts of clowning around and being a dork, we also bring up... Spielberg's shooting style, that was paramount to me, one of them practically Xeroxed her rolodex, anything I could do - I did, Tony Scott, laying the groundwork, a cast of small town lunatics, Larry Moss, Summer stock theater in the Poconos, Fay Masterson, striking up the band, David Mamet, Trish Geiger, one big scene with Denzel, working in tandem, Kevin Spacey, Spy Hard, America's most beloved action figure, the quiet scary moments, Jim Carrey, State and Main, the bloom is off the rose, it was tremendous fun... blood all over the place, Frank Darabont, The Conjuring Universe, hours were long... temperatures were torturous, it was like the biggest most lumbering independent film I'd ever been involved with, when a casting director goes the extra mile, Kerry O'Malley, fly wrangler, that's how we got our revenge for his, rather indelicate criticism... of our work, a benevolent madman, K-Pax, snow in Pasadena, straight and kind of silly or full absurd, messing with Gabriele Muccino, a sustained level of dread, had to have a fake car to pick him up, one thing, with persistence, does actually lead to another, Will Smith, a state of trust, houses can have bad mojo, Clint Eastwood, my favorite... boy I'm making a Hollywood movie moment, Jeff Bridges, shooting for a dollar and a bucket of chicken, gettin' the laughs and singin' the songs, self-consuming hybrids and Tom Hanks goes mad. "I don't expect to be the big star... but I'll be the big star's neighbor." Follow Brian on Twitter at: twitter.com/BrianHoweActor For more on WonderFest go to: wonderfest.com
Jonathan Demme passed away last month so we decided why not honor him by doing a bastardization of one of his most brilliant pieces of art. The film was directed, written produced and starred Italian dime store Leslie Nielsen Ezio Greggio. He narrates the whole movie so get ready to not understand most of it not that it matters because it's mostly nonsense anyways. Where to start on this movie. It’s a parody of psycho and Silence of the lambs although a little bit more psycho. This film feels more relevant today. Im sort of amazed it hasn't had a major resurgence with the alt-right community. I mean it has everything the rabid trump supporters and conservatives love. Starting with Hillary Clinton getting arrested. Lock her up lock her up. Then we get some tasteful transgender jokes about gender identity...scary. That’s not all, black men beating up cops, jokes about flint michigan, carbon taxing a whole lot of sexual assault and don't forget black face. John Astin, I thought I knew you. There are a few clever things that made us not rate it a full on zero percent. I guess if you have 30 jokes a minute every hour a couple have to hit. Some of the best include the telephone split screen gag, the inner monologue but from a diegetic source. They also for some reason think that just referencing movie titles should be in place of a joke. This movie also has an amazing array of cameos by great directors. They also have a completely unnecessary star wars cantina scene. So overall it's not a great film, but it's nowhere near as bad as the Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer movie movies we got in the late aughts. Its pretty much right in the middle between the classics of Zucker brothers and mel brooks and the awful movie movies. Sitting with Spy Hard and Jane Austen's Mafia. Overall we gave it a 32%
