Brian Ross, a product specialist, is focused on his financial future through 401(k) and Roth accounts. After struggling with dropshipping and making just one sale in three months, he found inspiration in the Wake Up Legendary podcast. In January 2025, he reignited his efforts at a Mastermind event and is now selling the Confidence Challenge. He credits his progress to Legendary, his community, and his mentor Bonnie King, believing he is on the right path.
Returning guest preacher Brian Ross continues our Lent series with a sermon from Luke 18:18-30. Sermon originally recorded on March 23rd, 2025.
Brian committed himself to practising contemplative spiritual disciplines every day for a month. Here's what happened... Psychological studies suggest that certain personalities are better suited to hearing God's voice than others. Those who are “feelers” rather than thinkers seem to be pre-disposed to experiencing the Spirit in sensory ways. So what does that mean for the thinkers and the intellectuals among us? On this episode of the show, we're talking Spirit experiences and analytical thinkers with someone who appreciates both. Dr Brian Ross is an associate professor at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary in California who hails from the Anabaptist tradition but regularly ministers at a wide range of churches. In Brian's words, he's always "lived in his head," but things changed when he began practising some of the contemplative spiritual disciplines. You'll love this conversation, particularly if you're a “thinker” rather than a "feeler”! Brian brings some wonderful wisdom and insight to the topic. In this conversation, you'll learn about: Brian's journey to faith from a broken home, through a nihilistic and depressing season as a teenager to his decision to follow Jesus and enter pastoral ministry. Brian's angst in discovering that the church was not always a place where people were naturally oriented to answering his questions. Relating to God as an intellectual: I've always lived in my head by nature, but this doesn't mean my walk with God isn't practical or personal. God as an incarnational being meets us where we are - that's where God has met me. Sometimes you might hear people say things like Christianity is not a philosophy - it's a relationship and I know what people mean by that, but I would always say, “what's wrong with it as a philosophy?” because I find that compelling. Brian's initiation into the spiritual disciplines and the Spirit encounters that followed. Brian committed himself to practising the disciplines - such as contemplative prayer, meditation and sitting in silence - every day for a month. He explains what happened: Nothing changed for a while. Then after a few weeks, I began to have experiences I'd never had before… that I do not have words or categories for. I found them often beautiful and compelling… So, this is what Pentecostals and Charismatics talk about! Brian's reflections on the variety of personalities God has created and how we all experience God differently. Since we all reflect God's likeness, we should expect that we would relate to God in different ways. For example, through acts of service, doing justice, intellectual enquiry, participation in nature and prayer or worship experiences. The need to incorporate all aspects of our intellect to know the fullness of God including rational discourse and deep thinking. Indeed all the early church leaders related to the Greek thinkers of their time. The impact of spiritual experiences on Brian's life… These experiences that are often beyond words are a visceral reminder that there's much more to reality than what we see or understand or control. Some advice for those who haven't had those Spirit experiences. Subscribe to God Conversations with Tania Harris and never miss an episode! About Brian Brian A. There's a different path to consider—one where self-control is not just an outdated virtue but a gateway to spiritual growth and connection. In Part 3 of our Note To Self series, Brian Ross explores how our cravings and impulses might be holding us back from a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God.Could it be that the very practices we tend to avoid—like fasting, silence, and limiting our media intake—are simple things God uses to lead us to the freedom we crave?

Travel Media Group just launched its latest product innovation to its social media digital solution, Social Video for Hotels: TikTok & Instagram Reels! Tune in to this Suite Spot podcast episode to join TMG Marketing Director & Suite Spot host, Ryan Embree, and Social Media Product Manager, Brian Ross as these two digital marketing specialists share the capabilities of this exciting addition to the social media solution and the best video-making insights that will optimize your hotel's unique social media strategy. Episode Transcript Our podcast is produced as an audio resource. Transcripts are generated using speech recognition software and human editing and may contain errors. Before republishing quotes, we ask that you reference the audio. Ryan Embree: Welcome to Suite Spot, where hoteliers check-in, and we check out what's trending in hotel marketing. I'm your host, Ryan Embree. Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of The Suite Spot. This is your host, Ryan Embree. Thank you for joining, thank you for listening. If you're hearing us on any of the podcast streaming platforms that you can find the Suite Spot on, or thank you for seeing us on Travel Media Group's YouTube page where you can find all of our Suite Spot episodes, and we have a fantastic episode today. A first timer, a newbie to the podcast of the Suite Spot, Brian Ross, our Social Media Product Manager at Travel Media Group. Brian, welcome to the Suite Spot. Brian Ross: Thank you so much for having me. Ryan Embree: Yes, and we're, super excited today. We've got a great episode and we're here for another launch. I feel like we do these episodes, every other episode, Travel Media Group, continuing to innovate. We have launched an exciting social media innovation and addition to our already incredible solution, due in part to you and what your team has been doing over there on the social media side. But we are launching social video for hotels, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. I'm excited. How are you feeling? Brian Ross: It's been fantastic. It really is the next natural step to what we've been doing with custom posts for hoteliers. Ryan Embree: Yeah. And I wanna talk about that because I feel like I know, I joked about it, you know, this being, an episode we do all the time with the, all these innovations. But we were a couple months ago, a couple episodes ago, talking about video content creation, TMG giving you the ability to build social videos via OneView®. So, what's the difference between that announcement and what we're talking about today? Brian Ross: So internally, what we refer to the other launch as is our DIY product. And that is essentially a product where you can go in and use our system to create content that goes out across all of your platforms, and you can track your insights and the performance of all those posts. But what this is, is this is a product that we offer where we create the custom posts for you. When we onboard somebody, we get some property notes and even in the individual posts, they can give us some notes on what they like and, you know, they know their occupancy drivers and things like that. So if they just give us a little note, then we go in and we actually create the content. Ryan Embree: So this is now us doing that with the video which is just so powerful and it's the natural evolution. We were talking off screen, off mic about this, but you know, one of the things that I'm gonna continue to reference during this episode is the social hotel social media survey that we just conducted, went out to our entire database of over 40,000 hoteliers. And one of the questions we asked them, what was your biggest challenge? And we saw 62% of the time, not enough time. That is a hotelier's life, 365, 24/7. We wish there were more hours in the day, but even if there were, we'd be open for them, right? Because we're hoteliers, not enough time, unsure of what to post 60% and staffing someon...

John Kiriakou John Kiriakou was a CIA analyst and case officer from 1990 to 2004. In December 2007, John was the first U.S. government official to confirm that waterboarding was used to interrogate al-Qaeda prisoners, a practice he described as torture. Kiriakou was a former senior investigator for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a former counter-terrorism consultant. While employed with the CIA, he was involved in critical counter-terrorism missions following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, but refused to be trained in so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques,” nor did he ever authorize or engage in such crimes. After leaving the CIA, Kiriakou appeared on ABC News in an interview with Brian Ross, during which he became the first former CIA officer to confirm the existence of the CIA's torture program. Kiriakou's interview revealed that this practice was not just the result of a few rogue agents, but was official U.S. policy approved at the highest levels of the government. Kiriakou is the sole CIA agent to go to jail in connection with the U.S. torture program, despite the fact that he never tortured anyone. Rather, he blew the whistle on this horrific wrongdoing. Savanna Lafontaine-Greywind had no reason to suspect her neighbor, Brooke Crews, was up to something. Brooke claimed she just needed a quick favor. Would Savanna come upstairs and try on a dress she'd been making? Savanna was eight months pregnant and about to sit down to dinner, but she told Brooke she'd help her out. It was the last thing she ever did. Then Kristin tells us a story that illustrates the dangers of becoming a confidential informant. When police discovered marijuana and ecstasy in 23-year-old Rachel Hoffman's apartment, they leveled with her. She could go to prison for up to four years. Or she could become a confidential informant. Rachel chose the latter and soon found herself at the center of a very dangerous drug bust. And now for a note about our process. For each episode, Kristin reads a bunch of articles, then spits them back out in her very limited vocabulary. Brandi copies and pastes from the best sources on the web. And sometimes Wikipedia. Are solar farms a threat to water quality or a community asset? How can we create a solar-friendly permitting process that also enhances water and ecosystem services for the host community? Thanks to the PV-SMaRT project funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Solar Energy Technology Office, we are excited to debut the first solar-specific national study on stormwater dynamics and modeling. Project members include Great Plains Institute (GPI), DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Fresh Energy, and the University of Minnesota. The team used field research on five existing ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) solar sites across the United States, three-dimensional hydrologic modeling, and feedback from solar developers, site managers, state and local regulators, and other stakeholders to assess the opportunities. And results are flooding in!Based on the project's findings, researchers have now developed a stormwater runoff calculator tool and best practices recommendations for local and state permit officials and solar industry practitioners. Tune in to this webinar, recorded on September 28, 2022, for more details from hosts Fresh Energy, GPI, and NREL and special guests for the inside scoop on how the tool has worked so far.Meet the speakers:Brian Ross, GPIDr. David Mulla, University of MinnesotaJames McCall, NRELTodd Smith, Minnesota Pollution Control AgencyRobert L. Today's SWAPA Number is 67. That's the number of reciprocal jumpseat agreements with other carriers. Many of our Pilots rely on the jumpseat to commute or just travel non-rev. It's an important part of their lives for both productivity and QOL. Unfortunately, things don't always go smoothly for our jumpseaters. With changes to our weight and balance systems this summer and the occasional incorrect procedure used by ground ops, our Jumpseat Committee members have plenty of work to keep them busy. So today on the show, we're going to talk to Jumpseat Committee chair Brian Ross and member Helen Cook. They're going to tell us all about the work they do to serve SWAPA and OAL pilots and ensure Southwest Airlines remains a jumpseat friendly carrier.
