Clayborn is everything you think of when you here the phrase Country Boy. Growing up in Harlan County, he was always on the hip of his grandpa James Clayborn who was a coal miner. Brian shares a story of his grandpa's mining days-James was putting roof jacks in to secure the ceiling of the mine one kicked out and broke his back. The incident left him paralyzed for a period of time, and the day after he was able to get back up and walk again, he returned to work. Brian credits his grandpa as his biggest influence in life. A man full of grit, determination, and love for his family. Clayborn, Meathead and Jason cover several topics throughout this conversation. Coonhunting being a big one! They talk about their favorite dogs and some wild things they have saw happen while on a hunt. Brian's best coonhound was out of (Boots on a Tree) stock. One thing that any country boy is good at is eating and they are always sure to tell the best places to do it. Brian tells us of a couple places out in Harlan County that he would always frequent. Christine's Store is one he highly recommends and The Variety Store is another. So if you find yourself in Harlan County, Kentucky be sure to stop in at either and get you a bite to eat. Another great place to eat that all three guy agree on is Momma D's out on highway 2004 in Jackson County. They also touch on the topic of Hog Killin'. in days gone by, it was a big event that was necessary for survival to sustain families through the winter months in Appalachia. Have you ever had roasted pig snout? At 25 years of age Brian Clayborn is a dedicated family man, who loves and cherishes his darling wife and their young daughter. A romantic lead with nice forearms and a rescue dog? What more could you want! We're talking to Kate Clayborn, author of Georgie, All Along, about the importance of childhood best friends, why work and identity should not always coincide, the part of high school she would and would not want to revisit, and of course, cowboys. Georgie, All Along follows longtime personal assistant Georgie Mulcahy when an unexpected upheaval sends her away from her hectic job in L.A. and back to her hometown where she finds a “friendfic” diary that she wrote as a teenager. The diary becomes her guidebook for getting started on a new path, all with the help of her unexpected roommate, Levi Fanning. As the two make their way through her wishlist, Georgie begins to realize that what she truly wants might not be in the pages of her diary after all, but right by her side.Get Georgie, All Along at bookofthemonth.com. Seven-timer Kate Clayborn returns to the Fated Mates studio (lol, jk there is no studio) to talk about about going home again in romance and to celebrate the launch of her new book, Georgie All Along, which you can get this week wherever books are sold! We talk about all the ins and outs of homecoming romances, what sends characters back to the beginning, what readers expect from these books, why they hit so hard and in so many ways, and how this trope intersects with small town romance. All that, and Sarah's brought an X,Y chart to class. Next week, we have an interstitial, and then it's Derek Craven Day 2023! Our first read along of 2023 (in February) is Tracy MacNish's Stealing Midnight—we've heard the calls from our gothic romance readers and we're delivering with this truly bananas story, in which the hero is dug out of a grave and delivered, barely alive, to the heroine. Get ready. You can find Stealing Midnight (for $1.99!) at Amazon, B&N, Kobo, or Apple Books.Show NotesWelcome Kate Clayborn. Her newest release, Georgie, All Along came out yesterday. She's been on Fated Mates so many times because we love to talk to her about romance. You can listen to them all here, but considering the time of year, might we recommend the 2021 Derek Craven Day episode? In case you forgot what your English teacher told you about theme. Here's Sarah's chart, as promised. Also, you can learn about all about the X and Y axis. And the Z axis. And coefficients. So mathy this week!

There are so many times we mistake “greatness” for something that we as humans do and achieve instead of realizing what it really is; the “anointing” of the Holy Spirit on someone operating within their God-given gifting. In this episode, Gospel artist, songwriter, worship leader, and co-writer and performer of Rapha, Jason Clayborn, tells a story of his first encounter with “greatness” and how he learned that those who carry a higher calling on their life and submit to the will and authority of Jesus are able to carry his presence in the form of a Holy Spirit anointing. Once we recognize that all Christians carry some form of this, how do we reconcile our differences and how does this calling on our lives draw us closer to Jesus, while also introducing others to Jesus through us? These questions and more are touched on in this exciting podcast episode from this seasoned artist and worship leader in Jason. We're thrilled to have him as a guest and we encourage you to comment below, review our podcast, subscribe to our show, and please share our content as we believe this show is “anointed” with the purpose of equipping and building up those on worship teams and who volunteer in churches all over the world. - - - - - - Please subscribe to our social channels for more information and great content surrounding building a lifestyle of worship. This podcast is brought to you by Authentic Media and Worship Leader Magazine. Our host is Joshua Swanson and the show's co-producer and editor is Matt McCartie. More episodes can be found here. Who is Jason Clayborn? Tyscot recording artist Jason Clayborn is a GRAMMY® and Stellar Award nominee and former member of the renowned hip-hop/gospel group The Righteous Riders. He has toured around the world with numerous artists, including iconic worship leader Dr. Ron Kenoly. Clayborn and his choir, The Atmosphere Changers, were nominated for four 2022 Stellar Awards, including Male Artist of the Year and Praise & Worship Song of the Year.
Even though they come from different backgrounds, Jason Clayborn and Stephen McWhirter found their love for Jesus and their love for Christian music as common ground for them to come together, especially at a time when there is racial turmoil in the US and across the world. When they came together from two very different church music cultures (gospel and worship), what came out was something creative and full of life. In 2020, the two recorded Choir Sessions (featuring, Glory Hallelujah), afterwards they released the Christmas Single, Born A King, which was featured on the Chosen TV series Christmas Special (alongside such artists as Chris Tomlin, For King and Country, and Hillsong United). Jason and Stephen have been working together ever since, with albums like, Highest Praise (2021), and now their newest release, Rapha (2022), which they perform at the end of the episode. Voices In My Head (The Rick Lee James Podcast) Episode 442: STEPHEN MCWHIRTER Acclaimed singer/songwriter and worship leader Stephen McWhirter and GRAMMY® and Stellar-nominated recording artist Jason Clayborn have joined forces for Highest Praise, a rousing celebration of soul-drenched worship bowing October 8 from Lula Street Records (Integrity Music). The nine-track live studio set pairs the duo's impassioned lead vocals with classic rock, Motown, Gospel, and contemporary worship moments. Produced and co-written by McWhirter, Highest Praise also features eight selections co-penned by Clayborn. The title cut—a Stevie Wonder-meets-Humble Pie groove—is a joyful anthem crossing cultural and musical divides in unified worship. Additional highlights of Highest Praise include the Motown slow-burner “God Be Yourself,” a prayer which clings to His character even in the most difficult circumstances; the modern worship declaration of “Let There Be Love”; and “The Yes Song,” a resounding testament to the promises of God. Highest Praise follows the duo's debut collaboration, McWhirter's 2020 Choir Sessions (feat. Jason Clayborn & The Atmosphere Changers). McWhirter and Clayborn also wrote and recorded the Christmas anthem “Born A King,” which was featured in last year's Christmas special for the blockbuster television series The Chosen. Stephen McWhirter is a touring worship leader, producer, speaker and author whose powerful testimony of divine deliverance from addiction is the cornerstone of his ministry platform. A founding member of the former worship collective Iron Bell Music, he is also a songwriter with Essential Music Publishing/Sony PLG and a Lula Street (Integrity Music) recording artist. Tyscot recording artist Jason Clayborn is a GRAMMY® and Stellar Award nominee and former member of the renowned hip-hop/gospel group The Righteous Riders. He has also toured around the world with numerous artists, including Dr. Ron Kenoly. Ron Kenoly. Most recently, Clayborn and his choir, The Atmosphere Changers, performed at the 2021 Stellar Awards alongside the legendary Bishop Hezekiah Walker. Dr. Jill Biden loves Valentine's Day.JK Rowling is a problem, and it's changed the way many Harry Potter fans think about her books. Yes, yes, the English Teacher memes are so funny. Well take that. Tl;dr: archetypes are about character, while retellings are about plot. In Where Dreams Begin, Zachary Bronson is a hero that follows the Beast archetype, and Jen saw it in the scene where Holly first enters his house. Story can be a safe way to explore terrifying ideas about society and people. For example, both La Lloronaand Medea are about mothers who kill their children, but have a kind of distance that the story of Andrea Yates does not.Dr. Jennifer Lynn Barnes writes about storytelling and the universal ID. Our next read along episode will be A Matter of Class by Mary Balogh.
