There are ten Divine Attributes within which G-d invested His Infinity, G-d's light in a vessel, which colors and flavors the light in a certain energy stream. These are the structure of creation. Each vessel or attribute are found on all four spiritual realms of creation They are found within the person themselves. By accessing these attributes within me, I can touch the source, within G-d. From understanding my own soul, I can extrapolate to touch upon an understanding of G-d.

This lecture discusses the medieval Christian thinker, monk, and bishop, Anselm of Canterbury's work, the Proslogion, and focuses on his discussion in chapters 14, 18, and 23 of divine simplicity, further developing the "one argument" and the logic of "that than which nothing greater can be thought". God's simplicity is beyond what we understand as simplicity of created things, and means that every thing that God is, is the same as every other thing God is. This simplicity extends as well into the divine trinity. Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love
In this episode of the Reformed Brotherhood Podcast, Tony Arsenal and Jesse Schwamb delve into the profound theological concept of God's immutability, or unchangeability. They discuss how this attribute is integral to understanding God's nature, the implications for His promises, and its grounding in scripture. The conversation also touches on the contrast between God's unchangeability and human volition, as well as the relationship between theology and philosophy. A must-listen for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the steadfast nature of God.

A Bible devotional study about why God actually investigates matters before He acts, even though the Bible is very clear to us about that fact that He already knows all things. How do we reconcile these two seemingly incompatible observations?Exodus 3:7-8 KJVAnd the LORD said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.”---If you have any questions or comments, please send them to: BibleQuestions@ASBzone.comRelated Podcasts:The Foreknowledge ConundrumInvestigate FirstKnowing the Future (at TrueWisdom)Support the show------During many of our podcasts, you will hear us make reference to “The Key Principles of Effective Bible Study,” a document which outlines core concepts shown in the scriptures that will help you better understand many Biblical themes and doctrines. We are reminded of the sacred oath that humans have taken, by housing the Divine Light within our bodies. The combination of both in one, is insan, who struggle to reconcile these two realities. The only way to reconcile this turmoil, is to dissolve oneself and transcend to the Ultimate Light. The nature of the mind is to blame and claim innocence. Its shadowy nature will always try to justify its existence. Once embedded with emotions- there is havoc. Restrict its work to outer world tasks, rather than the ego's desires for fame, glory and validation, amongst other expectations. The way to resolve the conundrum is to release yourself, your neck from the suffocation of your illusions and to give nourishment to those who are destitute, in whatever way is appropriate. Each one of us are orphans (yateem) and destitutes (fakir) asking for compassion, and the Qur'an has many examples referring to mankind as such. Since we are in the zone of duality, one aspect of us tries to reach for Divine Attributes like Generosity, Kindness, Clemency, rendering our body, our balad (city), as healthy as possible, if not, we will find ourselves filled with anger and suspicion, and other poisons-causing all sorts of depressions. The key to our contentment is that our loyalty should always be to the One and only boundless and Eternal One along with the practice of all blessings being attributed to the One who has provided them, failing which, we will reach a disastrous end. Translation by Shakir: I do call to witness this City;- And thou art a freeman of this City;- And (the mystic ties of) parent and child;- Verily We have created man into toil and struggle. Thinketh he, that none hath power over him? He may say (boastfully); Wealth have I squandered in abundance! Thinketh he that none beholdeth him? Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?- And a tongue, and a pair of lips?- And shown him the two highways? But he hath made no haste on the path that is steep. And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?- (It is:) freeing the bondman; Or the giving of food in a day of privation To the orphan with claims of relationship, Or to the indigent (down) in the dust. Then will he be of those who believe, and enjoin patience, (constancy, and self-restraint), and enjoin deeds of kindness and compassion. Such are the Companions of the Right Hand. But those who reject Our Signs, they are the (unhappy) Companions of the Left Hand. On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round). --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shaykh-fadhlalla-haeri/message

Preface to a series on the 13 Attributes of Divine Mercy in Exodus 34.6-7
In Exodus 34:6-7, God reveals his character to Moses. These two verses are foundational for understanding the nature of the God we follow and the basis for our continued relationship with him. In this lesson, we will see that our English words do not convey the depth of meaning that the original Hebrew words carry. Today's lesson and the next (Exodus pt. 27) will explore these attributes and see how they can give us the confidence to walk forthrightly in the world in our covenant relationship with God through Jesus. ---------------------------------------------- Support Fig Tree Ministries: https://donorbox.org/support-figtree-ministries Shopping on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/83-0587741 www.figtreeteaching.com Blog Post: https://www.figtreeteaching.com/faith-lessons/gods-divine-attributes#/ Class handout (1): https://www.figtreeteaching.com/uploads/1/1/9/7/119763168/fig_tree_exodus_study_pt_26_attributes_of_god.pdf Class Handout (2) - Definitions: https://www.figtreeteaching.com/uploads/1/1/9/7/119763168/fig_tree_gods_attributes_definitions.pdf Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7mh4v8e7FDwOoPhQd7bz7Y YouTube: https://youtu.be/utXD0lgWnQQ References: Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament - https://smile.amazon.com/Theological-Wordbook-Testament-Laird-Harris/dp/0802486495/ref=sr_1_1?crid=28J72XGYDVP5G&keywords=theological+wordbook+of+the+old+testament&qid=1667677407&sprefix=theological+word%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-1 Richter, Sandra - The Epic of Eden - https://smile.amazon.com/Epic-Eden-Christian-Entry-Testament-ebook/dp/B0035RP56O/ref=sr_1_1?crid=OIGVLY91QNVR&keywords=the+epic+of+eden+by+sandra+l.+richter&qid=1667059068&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjAxIiwicXNhIjoiMS40MSIsInFzcCI6IjEuNTMifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=the+epic+of+eden%2Caps%2C101&sr=8-1

Doth Protest Too Much: A Protestant Historical-Theology Podcast
Dr. Daniel Pedersen joins us for a discussion on the 19th century German Reformed theologian Friedrich Schleiermacher. Schleiermacher is often called the 'Father of Modern Theology' or the 'Father of Liberal Theology'. Daniel explains what that term means and how he believes that term can mislead. Daniel takes a position that Schleiermacher is often misread and misinterpreted, and he sees Schleiermacher as more in line with the Great Tradition (and an important interlocutor in the Reformed Tradition). Daniel and Andrew also discuss some of the basic ideas of Schleiermacher as laid forth in his chief theological works On Religion: Speeches to Its Cultured Despisers and The Christian Faith. Daniel is a Research Fellow at the the University of Aberdeen. His interests run the gamut of modern theology and Protestant theology, from the Reformers to the 19th century and beyond. He earned his Ph.D. at Princeton where he studied under Bruce McCormack. He is the author of several books and articles on Friedrich Schleiermacher. Daniel's latest book Schleiermacher's Theology of Sin and Nature: Agency, Value, and Modern Theology is available at: https://www.amazon.com/Schleiermachers-Theology-Sin-Nature-Routledge/dp/0367188988 Daniel's article that we discussed on the Divine Attributes that argues for a strong continuity from the Reformed scholastics to Schleiermacher is "Schleiermacher and the Reformed Scholastics" from The International Journal of Systematic Theology 17: 413-431 Daniel's post "How to Understand Schleiermacher's Theology- A guest post by Daniel Pedersen" can be read at http://derevth.blogspot.com/2017/05/how-to-understand-schleiermachers.html *He advances his thesis further in an upcoming article for International Journal of Systematic Theology titled "‘A tragic destiny overtook him': Misunderstanding the Introduction to Schleiermacher's The Christian Faith and his Letters to Lücke'" Andrew discussed Gerhard Ebeling's comparison of Luther and Schleiermacher from Internationaler Schleiermacher Kongreß Berlin 1984. The Bible seems to teach that God knows everything, and that God is sovereignly in control of how history unfolds. Yet the Bible also seems to teach that God does not always get what He wants. Perhaps some of God's desires go unfulfilled. These biblical claims gives rise to different theories of God's omniscience, foreknowledge, and providence. In today's episode, I am joined by Dr John Peckham to discuss something called The Problem of God's Unfulfilled Desires. John and I talk about different views like theological determinism, open theism, and Molinism to see how they can handle these different biblical claims. In contemporary debates, there are competing conceptions of God's nature. But what does the Bible have to say about the doctrine of God? In today's episode, I am joined by Dr John Peckham to discuss his new book, The Divine Attributes. We start by looking at the classical conception of God, and ask if it has any biblical warrant. John argues that classical theism conflicts the biblical portrayal of God. Then we consider John's own conception of the covenantal God of scripture. John and I also have an exciting announcement to make! Credits: Host: R.T. In this talk Shaykh Riad Saloojee reflects on the night journey (isra') and ascension (mi'raj) of the Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) as it relates to al-Aqsa Mosque. He links our love of the holy precinct of al-Aqsa to striving to attain the excellent prophetic character. Prophet Muhammad's (peace and blessings be upon him) night journey to al-Aqsa Mosque, and his ascension is the Divine gift of the perfection of his servanthood ('ubudiya). This event is the most perfect human manifestation of the Divine Attributes in the Prophet's character (peace and blessings be upon him). The realization of beautiful character is the true and lasting legacy of the prophets (peace be upon them). It is the path to revive the sunna of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). A love and claim of connection to the sanctified places of Allah can only be truly made if we sanctify ourselves with the sacred values and character of our Messenger (sallalaho 'alayhi wa sallam).
