-Husker Online's Robin Washut put out his 5 “Stock Up” players from the Spring and listed freshman WR Cortez Mills among the 5 on the way up, which is significant when you look at players like Dane Key and Jacory Barney already with quality experience-Can you say right now that this unit should be better than last year's, with losses of Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor?Show sponsored by MIDWEST BANKOur Sponsors:* Check out Hims: https://hims.com/EARLYBREAKAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

This week on the Husker247 Podcast Mike Schaefer is joined by Fantasy Life NFL draft analyst Thor Nystrom to talk through the Huskers' 2025 NFL draft prospects. Nystrom discusses why Ty Robinson was initially further down on NFL draft boards, how he's raised and where he could go in late April. Then there's a discussion about Thomas Fidone and why he might end up being a more memorable NFL player than a college one. Finally Nystrom gives thoughts on Tommi Hill's odd senior campaign and why someone can't wait to take a shot on Isaiah Neyor at the end of day three. Well, the Huskers are 1-0. It's not much, except an improvement over several years of losing the first game of the season. And on top of that, 107 Huskers saw some sort of action in the 40-7 win over the University of Texas - El Paso. Dylan Raiola looked as advertised, as he went oan to be named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week. And the targets he found in the field, Isaiah Neyor, Jahmal Banks, and the rest, more than produced. Plus, Dante Dowdell, Emmett Johnson, Rahmir Johnson, and Gabe Ervin Jr all found success running the ball. The defense was crisp, allowing just 205 yards. Greg and Hoss break down the win, discuss the team's depth, and take a little look at this weekend's battle against Colorado.
The vibes are good as Nebraska moves to 1-0 for the first time since 2019. Josh Peterson and Jack Mitchell recap Nebraska's win over UTEP and try not to smile for 90 straight minutes. Dylan Raiola. Isaiah Neyor. Jahmal Banks. Carter Nelson. Big Ass Ty. On and on they go. Plus, plenty on the upcoming Colorado game, why this is finally time for things to change, and so much more!Did you enjoy the episode? The full Husker247 crew gathered for the first time in the new year to talk about Nebraska's latest offseason additions, how things have changed offensively, a potential new addition to the staff and much more. Michael Bruntz and Brian Christopherson join Mike Schaefer as the trio start things out with a discussion about the additions of Dante Dowdell and Isaiah Neyor, as well as how Dylan Raiola has immediately become an important peer recruiting piece after not really being able to do it with the 2024 signing class. From there the conversation shifts to Dana Holgerson and how the former head coach might fit into things with Matt Rhule at Nebraska and where the role might be if he's on the staff. The Longhorns won't outmuscle Bama on the lines, nor will they adopt a smash-mouth approach for substantial yardage gains. Instead, QB Quinn Ewers and the potent passing game that shone early last year will launch a relentless offensive assault right from the beginning, targeting an already injury-ridden secondary.Ewers completed 9 of 12 passes in last year's 20-19 loss before being sidelined. Xavier Worthy's five receptions for 97 yards set the tone, leaving Alabama scrambling to defend.Alabama still needs to demonstrate that its defense can consistently contain a high-octane offense. The 56-7 victory over Middle Tennessee didn't truly test them, and Ewers now has an array of weapons at his disposal. While Ohio State may boast some of the nation's top receiving targets, the Longhorns aren't just relying on Worthy. The guys broke down the offense, defense, special teams and just how the Longhorns did in the transfer portal. Is this the year that the Texas Longhorns are back? Will Steve Sarkisian have his first double digit win season of his career? Plus, Michael Barker aka (@CFBcampustour) hops on to talk about his experiences to Darrell K Royal Stadium and Austin, Texas. Will it be Quinn Ewers all year long or could we see Maalik Murphy or Arch Manning take the field for the Longhorns? Will the run game be fine despite the losses? Who will get the bulk of the carries will it be CJ Baxter, Jaydon Blue or Jonathan Brooks? Does Texas have the best wide receiving core in the Big 12 with the likes of Adonai Mitchell, Xavier Worthy, Jordan Whittington and Isaiah Neyor? Is tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders a name to watch out for in 2023? Will the Texas Longhorns offensive line take the next step in 2023? How will the defensive side of the ball look for DC Pete Kwiatowski? Is the Texas Longhorns defensive line the biggest question mark heading into 2023 with T'Vondre Sweat and Barryn Sorrell? We continue our trek through the Texas Longhorns' position groups with a stop at the wide receivers and tight ends. Much like the running backs, the Longhorns boast a TON of talent in the wide receiver room but the floor of the group is uncertain heading into the season. Xavier Worthy worthy is hoping to rebound from a mild sophomore slump, while Jordan Whittington hopes to have a contract year, and the additions of AD Mitchell and Isaiah Neyor hope to pay off for themselves and the Longhorns. Not to mention JT Sanders and the talented group of incoming freshmen. Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook. Intro and Outro: Earth, Wind, Fire by Ryan Little

Rod Babers, Matt Butler and Jeff Howe are back. This week's podcast digests the news of the first preseason scrimmage where Texas saw Isaiah Neyor and Junior Angilau suffer severe injuries with Roschon Johnson among the Longhorns currently recovering from various ailments. Neyor and Angilau are major pieces to the offensive puzzle, clearly, and head coach Steve Sarkisian has new problems to solve if the Texas offense is going to reach what's still a high ceiling in 2022. The Texas Longhorns nearly made it through the offseason without the typical bad news, but seemingly saved it up for one weekend. After transfer wide receiver Agiye Hall's arrest for misdemeanor vandalism, the Longhorns saw two key pieces go down with season-ending injuries. Offensive lineman Junior Angilau and wide receiver Isaiah Neyor will both miss the entirety of the 2022 season with non-contact knee injuries, highlighting an injury report that featured starters and key contributors on both sides of the ball. Now begins the process of re-examining our expectations for the 2022 season and what would mean success for Texas. We also dive in on the Longhorns' defensive line, trying to identify who can step up as the key contributor to a unit that needs a star to emerge. The Texas Longhorns were in need of some depth and talent in the wide receiver room, to help supplement the players already in the room. Coming in to help Xavier Worthy and Jordan Whittington, last year's top receivers, were Isaiah Neyor, Agiye Hall, and Tarique Milton from the transfer portal, as well as the likely emergence of Brennen Thompson into the mix. Texas has seemingly raised the floor for the receivers, but what does that mean for the guys already on campus? What will the workload look like between the top receivers on the team? We also take time to dive into the coaching changes on the hardwood, as well as players coming and going from the baseball and softball teams.
