In the first episode of our new series Lauren and Rina speak to performer and writer Bryony Kimmings. Bryony's son Frank is autistic and two years ago, she was also diagnosed with ADHD. They talk about Bryony's parenting approach, discovering your own neurodiversity and how to balance a neurodiverse family with sometimes conflicting needs and wants. With her characteristic candour and wicked humour, Bryony describes how much she has learnt about herself and in doing so, how she has become a better parent to Frank as she drives to create their own neurodivergent utopia in their crumbling old country home. Content Warnings Drug taking and alcohol misuse Diagnosis Guest Biography Bryony Kimmings is a playwright, performer, documentary maker and screen writer from the UK. She is inspired by female stories, social taboos and dismantling power structures. Kimmings' work is brutally honest, very funny and often a bit geeky and dangerous. Bryony's stage work includes her plays (as writer and performer): Sex Idiot, 7 Day Drunk, Credible Likeable Superstar Role Model, Fake it til' you make it and I'm a Phoenix, Bitch. Her TV and film work includes the documentaries The Sex Clinic (C4) and Opera Mums (BBC) and the feature film Last Christmas, which Bryony co wrote with Emma Thompson. Bryony is working class and loud mouthed; a deep thinker, world fixer, activist and trouble maker all wrapped into one. She likes adapting and reimagining books, creating 3D female characters. She enjoys writing about class, gender and disability. Having toured all over the world with her shows (created about real events in her life) from the National Theatre to the Sydney Opera House, Bryony is now focusing on writing for film and TV. Bryony is also an ADHD mother to an ASC son of 7 years. She lives in the country, trying to homestead and get off grid with varying degrees of success. Nature and food brings Bryony joy, as well as cracking cinema and splashing in water with her son. www.Bryonykimmings.comResource linksSocial model of disability | Disability charity Scope UKA Radical Guide for Women with ADHD: Embrace Neurodiversity, Live Boldly, and Break Through Barriers - Sari Soldenhttps://www.sarisolden.com/publicationsBryony recommends....How to raise a happy autistic child, by Jessie HewitsonThe secret to… raising a happy autistic child | Parents and parenting | The GuardianADDitude magazineADDitude - ADD & ADHD Symptom Tests, Signs, Treatment, Support (additudemag.com)"I follow Instagram accounts of autistic teenagers, as an insight on how to support younger children; Write an access document for friends/family, a 'how-to' for supporting your kid;Be wary of the online reading you do on ASC and check charities actually have ASC people on their staff and board, that it comes from thoughts in the community; I try my best not to watch or support films or tv where disabled people are played by non disabled actors, called 'cripping up'. Love is in the air! It's our Valentine's Day episode. Drunk monkeys, inappropriate cards, & Am I The A**hole Valentine's edition. Please remember to review, rate, and share the podcast and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
Today's edition of Ben's Story of the Day features: 1) Having fun is something everyone can enjoy and elderly grandparents can sometimes find themselves getting into just as much trouble as any youngster. Here's your proof of that being true and all it'll take is a drunk elderly couple and a water park at night. 2) It's perfectly legal to sell a catalytic converter but if you do, remember to keep the focus on what you're trying to sell. This guy didn't quite understand this because the police were quick to stop by and arrest him because of the big bag of meth in the background of his ad. Unfortunately the "it's medicinal" argument is much harder to make here. 3) Getting cursed is a horrible thing and things get compounded when the psychic you hire to get rid of it doesn't follow through with their end of the deal. So what do you do if you find yourself in this position? Sue them! Which one will be crowned Ben's Story of the Day? Which one is your story of the day? Butch Walker is one of the most influential players in the music scene and yet most people would claim they are not familiar with him. However, though you may think you don't know of him, I assure you, you have experienced his musical genius somewhere along the way. Butch is Episode 7s feature artist. And selecting 3 songs from the 100s he has written and co-written turned out to be a near impossible task. But nonetheless, we will explore Cigarette Lighter Love Song from his days with The Marvelous 3, his collaboration on “Almost” by Bowling for Soup, and a recent cut from The Spade by Butch Walker and the Black Widows called “Day Drunk”. Enjoy! The King is back on the filth and wisdom train this week! In this week's episode I talk a case of Mondayitis but I talk receiving universal signs when you are feeling sh*thouse. I give a shout out to Nats What I reckon on the Wilosophical podcast (go and check it out), I talk some observations around Pinocchio and old kids movies being creepy and old people loving too much butter on bread. I give boxing some sh*t, I give The Undertaker and Pat Patterson a shout out. I watched a movie called I Love You Phillip Morris. I come across a youtube channel called 'Badlands Chugs' I have a good news story and I want you to join The RAS (Rose Appreciation Society). All this and more. Lend Me Your Ears.
Y'all thought the only bird drama this week was going to be T'Challa's escape from RHOP. But no, it's another nature episode from the Couch Queens. We break down all your Bravo favorites while trying not to get attacked by a large bird in Lauren's backyard. There's drama on the high seas for Below Deck Med and somebody is going to walk the plank for their crimes... we vote Malia (insert snake emoji). The RHOBH ladies are on the worst trip to Italy we've ever witnessed and honestly, we cannot wait for this season to end. On the other side of the world, the RHONY ladies are living it up in Mexico! We'd much rather be stuck dealing with Dorinda's shit than hanging with any of the RHOBH ladies, TBH. And last but not least the RHOP ladies give us a little bit of a sleeper episode but we know the drama is just heating up! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Georgia and Morgan talked all about his latest single ‘Diamonds’, taking time off and what’s to come!

Dear Prudence | Advice on relationships, sex, work, family, and life
Prudence is joined this week by Chrissy Macken, who runs a career coaching consultancy in Washington, DC with a focus on helping professionals break free from toxic work environments. Together they dig into letters about how to move past the embarrassment of your drunken behavior on your daughter’s wedding day, how to set boundaries with a business partner you also have a searing crush on, what to do about coworkers who constantly interrupt your private headphone time, how to get out of carpooling with a coworker who dumps her woes on you every morning, what actions to take when you discover coworkers making fun of your disability in social media. Also, Prudie plays a voicemail from a listener who feels her friend “over apologizes” in most situations. Slate Plus members will hear Prudie and Macken discuss a letter writer who’s disappointed that her friends aren’t celebrating her home purchase in the same way she celebrated their major life events. All sorts of exciting drunken stuff going on! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Lewis has decided to write about himself in the third person to make it look like he has a producer for his podcast. Lewis chats about being hot and drunk and he also touches on how he has replied to everyone who wrote to him and that he's had a great idea about getting listeners more involved! He shares his plans to take a show to Edinburgh and wonders what you guys think about him sharing that process with you... He thinks he's late to the game, which we've all heard him saying there is no such thing as... so basically he's a hypocrite. Now he's having doubts about this whole third person thing and even doubting whether he spelt whether right and if he even knows what the third person is... Google doesn't help really cos its one of those questions that's a bit difficult to write down... NOW... he knows he's taken it too far but secretly thinks it was bloody hilarious and cant wait to do it again next week! ENJOY!!!
We return to our heroes as they continue the search for their missing party member, Tartarus. Just like real life, the gang goes to the pub to sort things out, keep a clear mind, and make a solid, actionable plan. ...
In this extra long drunken episode of Day Drunk, Anthony and Ariel drink a fifth of New Amsterdam's Citron Vodka and discuss cool local and regional comic book shops and arcades to visit in the Pacific Northwest. They also piggy back of the previous episode and converse about what they enjoy seeing added onto comic book shops to keep them alive and afloat, so that they can survive in a rocky climate. Also, a special shoutout to Ariel's mother, Lynda Mccauley, for providing the topic of discussion for this episode of Day Drunk as well as recommending The Arc Arcade in Astoria, Oregon as a comic book shop/arcade to visit in the Pacific Northwest.
