Today, we're thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented actress, writer, and producer Charlotte Kirk to the show. Charlotte joins us to promote her latest movie, Duchess, a British gangster film she co-wrote and produced, directed by the acclaimed Neil Marshall. This thrilling movie follows Charlotte's character, Scarlett Monaghan, as she rises from a working-class criminal to a ruthless crime leader. The film, set to be released by Saban Films on August 9th, features an impressive cast, including Colm Meaney, Stephanie Beacham, Phillip Winchester, and Sean Pertwee. Charlotte Kirk is no stranger to the limelight. She also stars in Marshall's upcoming thriller Compulsion, set for release in early 2025, and portrays Nicole Brown Simpson opposite Boris Kodjoe's O.J. Simpson in Joshua Newton's true crime drama The Juice, also slated for a 2025 release. In addition to these roles, Charlotte has just completed shooting the horror film The Possession of Gladstone Manor alongside Caylee Cowan, Jesse Metcalfe, and Lin Shaye. She's also been busy with the action thriller Fight or Flight, co-starring Dolph Lundgren and Michael Jai White. Charlotte's impressive filmography doesn't stop there. In early 2015, she landed a starring role in the sci-fi thriller Vice, opposite Bruce Willis and Thomas Jane. Since then, she has completed seven feature films, including the film-noir comedy No Panic with a Hint of Hysteria opposite Stephen Baldwin, and the psychological drama The Depths, which won awards at seven film festivals. She's also made appearances in popular films like How To Be Single and Ocean's 8, opposite Sandra Bullock. Charlotte has also shown her versatility behind the scenes. She starred in, co-wrote, and served as executive producer on The Reckoning, a critically acclaimed action/sci-fi/horror film also directed by Neil Marshall. This film, released globally in 2020, showcased Charlotte's intense dramatic performance and earned her multiple awards. In 2020, Charlotte continued her collaboration with Neil Marshall, co-writing, producing, and starring in the action horror film The Lair, which premiered at the 2022 FrightFest film festival as the opening night gala presentation. Returning to the UK in 2021, Charlotte focused on creating her own projects. She founded Scarlett Productions and Primal Empire Studios Ltd., with several feature film projects currently in development and production. Beyond her achievements in film, Charlotte is also an accomplished singer, having performed the end title track for No Panic with a Hint of Hysteria. Her talent and versatility have earned her 13 awards and 12 nominations throughout her career. We're excited to delve into Charlotte's journey, her upcoming projects, and what it's like to work across such a diverse range of genres. This week, it's the start of a beautiful friendship, as of all the gin joints in all the world, this movie had to walk into ours... Yes, Hayley is finally pulling one of the all-time greats down off the shelf as we watch 1942's Casablanca, directed by Richard Curtiz, and starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre and Dooley Wilson. Widely regarded as one of the most beloved films of all time, it will come as absolutely no surprise that we both adored it. A tragic romance set against a surprisingly timely morality play making big swinging statements on the Nazis and fascism as the war was still happening. It's great! If you'd like to watch the film before listening along to our discussion, and in the case of a movie like this we do recommend you do, Casablanca is currently streaming in Canada on Crave and Starz at the time of publication. The full Roger Ebert 50th anniversary essay: https://www.rogerebert.com/roger-ebert/as-time-goes-by-its-the-still-the-same-old-glorious-casablanca Other works referenced in this episode include The Fall Guy, Bad Boys, Bad Boys II, Hot Fuzz, Suze, Am I OK?, How To Be Single, Light Sleeper, The First Omen, Immaculate, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Hot Rod, BlackBerry, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, The Hunt For Red October, Notorious, Amsterdam, Mad Men, The Simpsons and countless more. We're back next Friday to continue our run of five-star classics, with David Fincher's magnum opus: 2007's Zodiac, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr., which is currently streaming on Paramount+ in Canada and presumably in the US as well. Until then, we'll see you at the movies!!

In this week's episode, I talk to writer and professor, Craig Wynne. Craig is a writer and professor at the University of the District of Columbia where he teaches rhetoric and writing studies to first year students. His courses are themed around relationships and single studies. He is also a happy bachelor although this wasn't always the case. In 2015, the end of romantic relationship had brought on a whole host of negative feelings around being single. This took him on a journey and exploration of all things single.Craig subsequently wrote a book, How To Be A Happy Bachelor, in which he provides his own observations, anecdotes, advice and takes on all things related to singlehood, and which is primarily written from the male point of view. Because after all, there are many books out there designed to show women how to be single, but no so many for men!   Topics that Craig & I cover are:his university student's views on being single;the internalised singlism that Craig suffered from following the break up of his relationship in 2015;how he came across the work of Bella DePaulo which was the catalyst for his journey into singlehood;how he brought some of his single research into his work, including a course called ‘How To Be Single & Happy', and how this led the book deal for ‘How To Be A Happy Bachelor';how men also received stigma around being single, although it looks very different to the narratives around single women;how men often find it harder to form social networks which can lead to isolation;the Facebook network, The Community of Single People (CoSP);how Craig does date, but finds that the single life suits him;The groups MGTOW (Men Going There Own Way) and INCEL (Involuntary Celibates) and their anger towards women;the vastly differing meanings behind the words ‘spinster' and ‘bachelor';Craig's thoughts around men's behaviour when dating online;how Craig met his most recent lady friend organically on a subway platform. (I LOVE this!);the terms ‘matrimania', ‘singlism' and ‘amatonormativity'.how we can all find our tribe thanks to the world of the internet;Craig and my mutual love of music, and going to gigs alone;how singles should get out there and do things by themselves, because the truth is that nobody really cares!Craig's Website:https://www.thehappybachelor.org/ Buy Craig's book (UK), How To Be A Happy Bachelor:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Happy-Bachelor-Craig-Wynne-author/dp/1792407076 Buy Craig's book (US), How To Be A Happy Bachelor:https://www.amazon.com/How-Happy-Bachelor-Craig-Wynne/dp/1792407076  Book a FREE 30 minute coaching 'taster' session HERE: https://calendly.com/lucymeggeson/30minute Fancy getting your hands on my FREE Top 10 Mindset Tips? In this week's solo episode, I'm talking about the different stages and mindsets I've gone through being single for 8 years (yes, you heard it here first folks!). I've gone through times where I'd cry and wonder what's wrong with me, and also times when I just loved having fun, to now where I have a much calmer mindset. This is another super real & raw episode, so I hope you enjoy my honest thoughts. Follow me on Instagram to learn more about the podcast, and a behind-the-scenes of my life:https://www.instagram.com/thatgirlsabrina

Fil Eisler is an award-winning composer with projects ranging from big studio action pieces and comedies, to gritty independent films and hit television shows. His inventive scores and signature themes enliven some of TV's most popular series and notable films.Fil Eisler credits his early years as a rock guitarist with giving him a background in producing records, which he says has been essential in his career as a film composer. But it wasn't just anybody's records the multi-talented Eisler cut his teeth on. As a co-writer on Robbie Williams' “Stalkers Day Off (Hanging Around),” “Talk to Me” and “Superblind” (from Williams' multi-platinum album Reality Killed The Video Star), Eisler has also worked with rockers Ryan Adams and Dave Stewart, among many others. Then for a change of scenery, Eisler tried his hand at composing for film and was invited to the prestigious Sundance Film Composers Lab, where he went onto score, among others, Proud Mary, The Titan, and How To Be Single, while also directing and leading over a dozen heavy-hitting Hollywood composers for Peabody-winning documentary, Newtown.By all the accolades his work in film has produced, including the World Soundtrack Awards New Discovery Award, SXSW Best Soundtrack Award and multiple BMI awards for both his film and TV work, one would think he'd stay put in visual media. Not so. The very versatile Eisler has now entered the concert stage with his freestanding work For J.E. Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, which will have its world premiere at the American Youth Symphony in Los Angeles' Royce Hall on April 27. At this Gala event, Eisler's music, featuring world-class violinist Sarah Chang, will be alongside composer icons Dmitri Shostakovich and Richard Strauss.https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1135983/https://www.instagram.com/fileislermusic/?hl=en@thecareermusician@nomadsplace

Erica Kay is a badass UPM and Producer with over 20 years of experience in studio films and television. A life long New Yorker who started in production right after graduating from Colby College, she recalls not knowing anyone in entertainment and discovering producing by accident. It was via an internship on CENTRAL PARK WEST, the 90s drama created by Darren Starr, (yes, the mastermind behind SEX AND THE CITY!) that exposed her to this crazy world of filmmaking and storytelling. She saw an opportunity to climb the ranks in the most traditional way producers get their start: the production office. She started as an office PA and in no time, became the coordinator on films like ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and ANALYZE THAT. She nabbed the production supervisor title on DAN IN REAL LIFE, SALT, and JULIE & JULIA. Slowly but surely, she eventually became a DGA UPM films such as THE DICTATOR and HOW TO BE SINGLE. Then of course, there was Sam Esmail’s MR. ROBOT. Most recently, Erica produced the first two seasons of POSE and FOSSE/VERDON for FX. Both shows were deservingly nominated for a myriad of Emmys and other awards in 2019. If you have NOT yet seen Michelle Williams and Sam Rockwell create fire on screen in FOSSE/VERDON, I highly suggest pausing all life things short of eating and peeing, and binge watching it in it’s entirely. It’s television gold! In our chat, she breaks down the different roles in a production office, how tier jumping comes with a lot of luck, and why Fosse/Verdon was her dream job.⁣ You’ll also hear her speak extremely highly of Nissa Diederich, EVP of Production at Fox 21 Television Studios who made that Fosse/Verdon dream a reality... [Watch the video interview on our YouTube Channel] Fil Eisler has quickly become one of the most versatile and sought after composers working in the industry. His range for storytelling can be heard in almost any genre such as TV shows like Revenge and Empire, and in films like Newtown and How To Be Single. This All Access is truly special as we welcome back Fil to Film.Music.Media and converse with one of the most fun personalities in the composing world. Fil talks about his childhood, being born Czechoslovakia and then his family moving to England at a very early age. We discuss industry trends such as reboots and remakes since Fil is currently working on CHiPs based off the classic TV series. Fil gives insight to the challenge of scoring comedies as well. We then go into great detail on his work on the powerful documentary, Newtown. Newtown is an emotional look at how the community of Newtown came together following the tragedy of the Sandy Hook mass shootings. It's a heavy subject, and Fil talks about how he ended up wanting to bring 17 composers together to work on the score to symbolize a community. Gun control is a passionate subject for Fil, and we talk about how he hopes the documentary will spark a debate to better society. We touch upon violence in film and television, and some grand overall views of what the film industry is doing right these days and possibly what they are doing wrong. Even though the subject matter is heavy at times, this is one of the most enlightening and engaging All Access interviews on Film.Music.Media. And it was such a great pleasure to sit down with Fil Eisler once again. Interview Produced & Presented By:Kaya Savas Special Thanks:Fil EislerJana DavidoffCW3PR

Join Trailer Park Podcast for our golden anniversary. In episode 50 Nathan and Daniel are joined by Chelsea and The Intern for a very exciting lineup. We all get jacked for the new Coen brothers movie Hail, Caesar! and our second trailer focuses on one of The Intern's areas of expertise, How To Be Single. The horror fulcrum for episode 50 is none other than Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and apparently a trusted source told Daniel it's good, tune in to see if that matters to anyone else. Zoolander No. 2 looks like it could be an absolute disaster so we'll hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Finally, we check out Deadpool to see if the 3rd time is the charm for Ryan Reynolds in a superhero movie. We ponder how much our desire for Deadpool to succeed may blind us from the truth - that it is going to make people who like Deadpool make excuses for it. Stick around for The Burden List, The Intern Archive Update and the return of The Blacklist on TPP.

On today's Satellite Sisters, Lian, Monica, Julie and Liz tackle the world including: Julie's Star Wars report - Sending off three generations of her family in Dallas to see the new movie The Force Awakens complete with young Benjamin in his Storm Trooper costume. Liz reports on going to see Sisters starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at one of those fancy dine-in theaters.  It reminded her a little too much of being on an airplane (recliner. tray, movie - you know the drill) but otherwise a good time was had by all.  Most of all she enjoyed the trailers before the movie, tipping her off to new funny movies by and about women for release in 2016.   Coming right up, How To Be Single with Dakota Johnson, Alison Brie, Leslie Mann and Rebel Wilson. Next, you can look forward to My Big Fat Creek Greek Wedding 2.  You go, Nia Vardalos Finally, are you looking forward to The Boss? Another hilarious-looking turn by Melissa McCarthy about the wealthiest woman in the world who gets sent to prison for insider trading.  When she gets out, she's got plenty to prove. "Nuff said. Monica had a series of unfortunate events that were car-related, weather-related and include words that are always funny together:  "locked out" and "in pajamas." Liz has a "Ship of Fools" installment.  Yes, people, it can get worse in her building. You have to the find comedy in sewage backups. Lian recommends steering clear of the play "Bridges of Madison Country". Who knew it was a musical?  Well, some things are just not meant to be.  Plus, she has kudos for the Satellite Sisters fans in Manhattan Beach, the staff at Book Soup at LAX, soccer icon Abby Wambach and tennis badass/Sports Illustrated Athlete of the Year Serena Williams.  We love the annual neologisms list from The Washington Post. Are you going to enjoy?  Probsolutely.  For your holiday listening pleasure, we will be posting more "You're the Best" Encore interviews at www.satellitesisters.com.
