Ty and Gus are back this week to answer listener Twitter questions, wax poetic ad talk about an exotic dancer named Honey Mellons.  Despite their best efforts and lighting numerous signal fires with the hope of luring him home, Heavy Longmire is still hiding somewhere in the wilderness.  Perhaps some day he will return.  But until that day comes, you are stuck with Ty and Gustav who truly do love you. Ty starts off telling a story from his misspent youth in a honky tonk.  Cody sends a tweet about love that causes the boys to reflect on first loves.  Cody follows up with a tweet that makes Ty tell about the time he got lost in East Texas.  Gus revisits stumbling on a compound and then once again they touch base on the Satanic scare of the late eighties/early nineties. The boys love all things related to eighties television so they spend an inordinate amount of time talking about the first episode of Fantasy Island, the parallel between Mr. Roarke and the Old Testament Jehova, and Roddy McDowell's guest appearances as the devil.  And once again, they talk about their crush on Erin Grey from Buck Rogers. The man from Baltimore proposes a conundrum involving John Wayne, Wilford Brimley and Marty Robbins which will certainly have Pretty Little Ranch Wife firing off a strongly worded email in weeks to come.  Gus gets far too excited about the Statler Brothers and their appearance on the Marty Robbins show back in the seventies. https://youtu.be/YvQtlmZNpdQ Gus talks about how he's been watching the Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix and how Timothy Olyphant's character reminds him a lot of one Ty Webb. Another Dabney Coleman mention occurs for anyone keeping score at home and Rusty asks about nipples. Gus has been thinking about nipples on the way to record, so he has some thoughts on the subject.  Then he tells the story of how an exotic dancer named Honey Mellons made everyone who worked at his grocery store lose their minds one chilly night in Lubbock in 1993. So send us your emails about nipples, the time you saw Honey Mellons at the grocery store or which actor you think looks like Ty  to canyouhearmepod@gmail.com   Follow us on Twitter @canyouhearmepod @realgustav @tywebb3000 @longmireheavy Find us on Tumblr and Instagram @canyouhearmepod   The post The Tale of Honey Mellons appeared first on Can You Hear Me?.

This week's episode begins with Gustav recounting the story of the snakebite his seven year old daughter received on Memorial Day weekend.  She's fine now, but it was a scary weekend followed by a few days at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. With all the medical talk, Heavy asks the guys to think about how fathers approach health care versus the way that mothers might.  As you can imagine, Heavy has some very specific ideas about the subject.  Along the way, Gustav gives tips for how to procure IV saline solution without a prescription for your emergency preparedness needs.  Heavy provides his own questionable tips and then shares his run in with Lyme Disease back in his scouting days. An email from the Fake Bailey Jay spurs Gustav to talk about how her appearance and sweetness causes people to want to share all sorts of stories with her even though she is an introvert who doesn't want strangers talking to her.  Fake Bailey Jay and Gustav ran the Tough Mudder in Austin and had no shortage of new friends. The guys also talk about Heavy's irrational dislike of anything to do with clowns, Tough Mudder, sunburns, and sunscreen.  And no episode would be complete without a walk down memory lane.  The guys babble about Buck Rogers and Silver Spoon, which both featured the super hot Erin Grey If you have questions or comments please feel free to email us at canyouhearmepod@gmail.com  We are always happy to hear from our listeners!  You can also find us on Twitter at @canyouhearmepod or individually @realgustav , @longmireheavy , or @mzzy74 Subscribe to us on iTunes or any other platform you use to consume your podcasts. The origins of Irisa’s serpent background are revealed to us! Well, sort of. But we get the highlights that her tween years were NOT spent as a child pop star in Asia but rather as the target of one whacked out intergalactic cult. And we keep being reminded of what a different world it is with the Earth Republic Ambassador willing to sacrifice her husbands just to take a bite out of Defiance. In this week’s Voices Of Defiance, Shannon, Sean and Stargate Pioneer venture into the world of post apocalyptic land travel and demonic religious ceremonies during their rewatch of The Serpent’s Egg. The realities of attempting to secure a Mag Lev spur into Defiance is risky business indeed. Our heroes go through a lot for our little town that could. If only someone would be able to take notice. The Voice of Defiance trio also discuss 5th (and last) Trion video game DLC, the new season 2 extended trailer full of spoilers, a short tutorial on Castithans, and how Bear McCreary is such a genius with music in science fiction these days. Other quick discussions during the podcast include: More info on Erin Grey and Heroes For Hire; How Sean generally makes stuff up; Geek out on Alak’s podcast...er...we mean Raider Radio gear; How Alak Tarr is actually The Flash; How the town defense century system is actually Defiance’s NSA; Discuss Nolan versus Raylan from Justified on the gun draw; What exactly is going on with the new world comms and why we can’t even have AOL dial up internet;  And how a good business opportunity in Defiance would be a car wash. R-E-S-P-E-C-T, find out what it means to Datak! We all know that the Castithan likes to make a statement, but now he can do so on the Defiance town council thanks to the intricate webs his wife Stahma weaves. But he’s not the only one struggling for a little respect - both Quentin McCawley and Amanda Rosewater need it in their lives too. And nobody seems to have much respect for the Rosewater’s mother - at least for now. In this week’s Voices Of Defiance, Shannon, Sean and Stargate Pioneer venture into the world of post apocalyptic respect during their rewatch of A Well Respected Man. “Global” town events aren’t put on hold either as the town figures out how to deal with the loss of the Lawkeeper and Stasis Net (Duh, try to rebuild or repair the Stasis Net in Bissel Pass) while advancing the economic status of the town with a Mag Lev spur. The trio also discuss the five Defiance Minisodes launched at SyFy.com over the weekend and where we might find Nolan at the start of the second season and whether or not Nolan and Lennie actually set up The Watchmen from the beginning or not. And the announced premiere date of Defiance’s second season: June 19th, 2014.
