Gregory Diehl is an Author, Personal Development Mentor and Founder at Identity Publications.  From his own experiences he has crafted this amazing book The Heroic And Exceptional  Minority this book takes you on a journey of self-awareness, growth as well as gives you a  few Aha moments. Key takeaways:-Hero's don't have to wear a cape, they don't need mystical powers the only thing the need is the courage and wiliness to say I stand in my belief. It takes some of us a life time to find that type of courage that challenges the very core of everything we were taught to believe. Each of us has a past with it's own unique experiences that has shaped us into the very person we are today. -Self-acceptance is key. It is easy to the the person everyone wants you to be but it is empowering to step into everything you were meant to be.-Take the time to examine who you are. Over the course of my own journey I find myself being curious about my choices or decisions. I ask myself why did you choose this or that or why does this bother you so much. Taking the time to ask myself those question really helped me to know myself. It also helped me to heal. I want to challenge you here to dive deeper and be honest with yourself. Let this lead you into growth. Launching Brand Identity, with Gregory Diehl. This is one of my favorite authors and one of my FAVORITE books. Holding true to the "Digital Nomad" existance, I interview Gregory Diehl in Morrocco. With the evening prayer blaring in the background from some UNKNOWN source in the highest (the Atlas mountains) mountains of North Africa, you can't help but imagine Humphry and Bacall, or Tim Ferris on the wing in some exotic land! Excerpts from the interview: How big was your existing audience? On a professional level, very small. I had a lot of clients I had worked with a lot of clients before in various aspects of sales and branding, so I reached out to them to help me refine the book and spread the word. They are the ones who ended up as case studies in the book. I also had a fairly large network of personal connections who didn’t necessarily care about the business subject matter of the book, but liked way of thinking and my take on things. They became some of my beta readers and early reviewers. How did you build your audience before launch? My strength has always been cold outreach and direct conversation. I spent a lot of time on forums and in book groups on Facebook just reaching out to let people know what I was planning on doing with the book, which contributed to a lot of 99-cent presales and initial buzz when it launched. It was really encouraging to see the early readers start chiming in of their own accord to say glowing things about the book to back up my own claims. What are the steps you used to launch? I understood two very important things: The book needed to be good I needed to generate immediate social proof that it was good. I tried to accomplish both of these things at the same time by working with as many beta readers as possible to help me refine the rough draft, and most of them agreed to download the book on the day of launch when it was free and leave a “verified purchase” review. In addition, I used some services that allow you to reach out to potential reviewers and send them advance copies of your book in exchange for an honest review. As of now, about 2.5 months after launch. I have 84 reviews, with an average 4.8-star rating. You used the pre-sale method - did that hurt or help you on launch day? It’s hard to say, since I have not tried the alternative, but my book did hit the #1 spot in Public Relations even in the preorder stage. I think having it up there for months before actual launch probably helped gain a lot of exposure from Amazon’s regular browsers. I plan to do the same again, but maybe only a month of preorder this time with the travel book. Have you noticed? There are no commercials or advertisements on this podcast! One of the most important things you can do in this world is discover your purpose. It's really heartbreaking when an entrepreneur spends decades building a business that's something they don't care about. They start to feel burned out, and are too scared to try anything else because they've become dependant on the income that's been created. The good news is, you can start making sure your business' purpose lines up with your personal purpose at any time: and the sooner the better. You do that through brand identity. This is where you explore exactly what your business is and how you communicate it to your target consumer.By knowing what you stand for, and what your company is all about allows you to make the changes you may feel are necessary. And don't be afraid of change. It's important in every business. The world is constantly changing, and any business that's been around for decades has had to make changes to fit into this constantly evolving world. On this episode of Creative Warriors, I am joined by branding expert Gregory Diehl. Gregory Diehl is the author of multiple Amazon best-selling books on identity development for businesses and individuals. He is also the founder of Identity Publications, an organization that produces and publishes meaningful books containing ideas that matter. Download this episode today to learn how you can find purpose in your business that will make your personal life feel fulfilled. WARRIOR OF DETERMINATION   “The last thing you want is to find success in something you don't actually care about.” -Gregory Diehl Highlights - The point of brand identity is for people to know if they love you or hate you. You need to know what you are trying to communicate right away. There's not only a personal purpose, but also a purpose in your business. Ask what changes you need to make to maintain your success. You can turn something you don't care about into something you care about. Be the kind of person who works towards mastery of their environment. We make decisions, not based on reality, but based on the stories of how we see things. Know the stories happening in the minds of your customers. Empathy is the bridge between two stories. The role of a business is to trade something of value for something of higher value. Your customers are looking for an increase in happiness and value according to their perspectives. Break through your limitations on how big your brand can be. Don't assume there is only so much you can do. What is your brand identity? What impression do you portray to potential customers? Do you make a good first impression? Are you remembered or do you fade into the noise? These are all questions we want to give positive answers to. We want to believe that we are the best in our trade - that we have a superior offering to our competition. But are we biased? Are we fooling ourselves? The story we craft and tell to customers is how we are initially judged by customers and the barometer they use to determine if we are a brand they want to engage with. The majority of of businesses fall short in this department and gravitate towards the same clichés that everyone uses such as "Customer Service is Our #1 Priority" or "We Take Your Business to the Next Level". Gregory Diehl is the best-selling author of Brand Identity Breakthrough: How to Craft Your Company's Unique Story to Make Your Product Irresistible. He has spent the past decade studying businesses around the world and has unlocked the key to creating innovative brand identities and distinct business stories. Gregory joins this episode of the Neon Noise podcast for an engaging conversation that includes: His interesting background and experiences gained from traveling the globe and living in over 50 different countries. What is Brand Identity? Why is it so important for a business/entrepreneur to create a Unique Selling Proposition (USP)? Why is story telling so powerful? What is the secret to differentiating yourself from competitors? We hope our conversation with Gregory will help you craft your Brand Identity, Unique Selling Proposition, and story that will make your business and products irresistible to customers. Enjoy!

Perception is never a passive process to take in the objective truth of the reality around you. In every moment, you are making educated guesses to construct an internal, conceptual understanding of the world. You frequently mistake this conception for the genuine article. You take this for granted. Isaac Lidsky went from being a successful teenage actor on TV to losing his sight and learning to reassess every unconscious assumption he had about life as a result. Isaac contends that going blind the way that he did is one of the best things that ever could have happened to him, as he learned to see his life beyond the illusions of his mind that would have kept him a prisoner of bad luck and circumstance. As Isaac began to lose his sight gradually over the course of more than a decade, he gained uncommon insight into the layers of meaning his mind automatically added to his perception. As micro blind spots formed in his vision, his brain would do everything it could to immediately compensate for them, often with wildly inaccurate guesses (such as perceiving a urinal as a sink in a bathroom). The mind is always attempting to sort incoming stimuli into the categories it knows. When the old categories we carry are not adequate for new types of information, we run into conflict with reality. We cease to be able to communicate with each other. We make terrible choices about what to do with our lives because we cannot align our actions with what is real. As Isaac had to learn how to reinterpret his most fundamental perceptions of the world, he took less and less for granted about the way his mind worked. For that reason, he is thankful for the new outlook being blind gave him. Even in communicating with other people, there are so many signals we take for granted in the subtle realm. We may completely overlook body language, tone, etc., or rely on them too much and form faulty assumptions from what we think we perceive in the many nuances of how someone presents themselves. The easiest way to clarify the true meaning of communication is to break concepts down to their simplest possible terms (“explain like I’m five), or clearly outline the premises behind an evaluation. If a blind person were to enter a building having been told an inaccurate layout of its structure, his false impressions would conflict with his experience and make it impossible for him to get where he was trying to go. Instead, if he went in knowing nothing, he would be able to derive the truth of the situation through his own unbiased observation. The same is true with everything we ever do in life, as we are all blind and, yet, mostly unaware of our disability. We refuse to draw new categories when our blindness creates obstacles, and so we suffer without end.   Isaac Lidsky: www.lidsky.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Lidsky   Eyes Wide Open by Isaac Lidsky: https://www.amazon.com/Eyes-Wide-Open-Recognizing-Opportunities-ebook/dp/B01HCGYXZW/   Isaac Lidsky “What reality are you creating for yourself?” TED talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/isaac_lidsky_what_reality_are_you_creating_for_yourself   Travel As Transformation by Gregory Diehl: http://amzn.to/2fDzgkM   Man’s Search For Meaning by Victor Frankl: https://www.amazon.com/Mans-Search-Meaning-Viktor-Frankl-ebook/dp/B009U9S6FI/   Isaac Lidsky on The Doctors explaining his blindness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kezluf7I_5M   Isaac Lidsky playing Weasel Weasel on Saved By The Bell: The New Class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xM13axKEkDY

Simone Sauter is a veteran of Uncomfortable Conversations With Gregory. After her last appearance in UCWG 007: Why Do You Believe What You Believe About Relationships? she is back to talk about her concept of relationships has changed in her own life and in what she has seen in the lives of the clients she works with as a heartbreak coach. This time, we go far beyond conventional romantic intimacy and approach the subject on a larger sociological level. Gregory discusses his recent unceremonious removal from the Dynamite Circle, the online entrepreneur community that originally brought he and Simone together as friends and conversation partners. After writing an unfavorable review of the professional services of one of the community’s more prominent members following a bad business experience, the community founder decided to remove Gregory with little explanation. Gregory and Simone use this unfortunate experience as a launchpad to discuss how individuals and organizations can operate on premises of pretending that what is true is not true. This method of operation always proves unsuccessful and unsustainable in the long-run, as censorship can only temporarily delay the inevitable. Sometimes we have to make a choice between what is true and what is comfortable. We also need to choose what kind of people we bring into our lives once we know where our allegiance falls. If you’re not authentic with yourself and the people you want to serve, your life becomes divided into a series of false stories you want to tell. The space between you and reality widens further as time goes on. Nobody should be immune to challenge. Authentic people and businesses should welcome tests of authenticity. Integrity is doing the right thing regardless of social consequences (or lack thereof). In order for a community of any size or kind to operate, the participating members must agree on certain fundamental values and relationship dynamics. Do you consciously choose the principles by which you interact with the people in your life? What qualified someone to be part of your life? How does this change for differing levels of intimacy and function? To understand what makes for a good relationship of any kind, you have to understand your own operating principles (whether they are deal-breakers or mere preferences). To have a fulfilling sex life, you must understand your own sexual nature. Women are the most frequent victims of not having had the opportunity to discover their own sexual nature. If you don’t know your own sexual nature, how is your partner supposed to? One of the worst sexual experiences for a man is to not be able to read the responses of his female sexual partner. Women never learn about their own nature, and thus cannot share this vital part of themselves with their partners. Intimacy is the dissolution of barriers between separate parties. Guard yourself against excessive intimacy when it is not safe to remove your barriers. Allow yourself to become intimate with those who align with your principles - physically, mentally, emotionally, and everything inbetween.   Websites mentioned:Simone Sauter’s relationship coaching services, From Pain To Power: https://frompaintopower.de/ Simone Sauter’s first appearance on Uncomfortable conversations: https://gregorydiehl.net/ucwg-007-believe-relationships-resetting-conceptions-love-romance/ The Dynamite Circle digital nomad community:http://dynamitecircle.com/ Gregory Diehl’s unfavorable review of a Dynamite Circle member:https://gregorydiehl.net/edmund-john-flag-theory-review/

Tal Gur is an author and personal development professional who recently completed a transformational journey of spending 10 years accomplishing 100 specific goals around the world. He started at 31, and is now ready to share what he learned in his upcoming autobiographical book, The Art of Fully Living: One Man, Ten Years, a Hundred Life Goals. Tal devoted each year of his decade-long journey to a different aspect of his personal transformation. He learned that going to uncomfortable extremes could teach him more than staying in the comfortable middle of any domain. Transformation is not random or spontaneous. It is cumulative and logical. We move in sequence from one change to another according to patterns and rules. Most people are not in tune with their own minds, bodies, and emotions, so they do not know the right path for themselves. Tal had to learn through his many trials how to get in tune with himself to find his authentic core. Not everyone has to spend 10 years pursuing 100 goals to find themselves. The journey is different for everyone. You have to be curious. You have to be willing to go on your journey, whatever it is. Not everyone needs to know themselves deeply to be happy. But for others, it is the only option. We all create our lifestyle and our goals based on the timescale through which we evaluate our lives. What would you do if you only had one day left to live? A decade? Forever? Your actions can be defined by processes or objectives, journeys or destinations.   Websites mentioned: Tal Gur’s website, Fully Lived: http://fullylived.com/ Gregory Diehl’s book, Travel As Transformation: http://amzn.to/2fDzgkM Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal Sisyphus comic strip: http://www.smbc-comics.com/?id=3259

Danny Flood is a writer, entrepreneur, and world traveler who chronicles useful information about life through his website, Open World Magazine. He joins Gregory to discuss two recent deaths: a suicide by Gregory’s hometown friend and an adventurer named Justin Alexander who never made it back from one of his more dangerous trips. Hope is the belief in random, positive change – the idea that the unknown future can be better than what you currently have. If you’re at the end of your rope, why not throw yourself into an experience you’ve never had before? What have you got to lose? Our culture of death is to bury and get away from it as fast as possible because we cannot stand the reality of it. It doesn’t matter what people say about you when you are gone. It only matters how you perceive your own life. A better question to ask yourself is how the world will be different because you ever existed. You forget 99.999% of the things that ever happen to you. Only the memories with strong emotional ties remain in your ongoing memory, whether positive or negative. What your brain decides is an important event worth remembering is mostly arbitrary. You can figure out what you really care about by examining your strongest positive and negative emotional reactions, but only if you are willing to ignore social expectations of what you ought to care about. Why do you feel like you need to leave a legacy after your gone? Why isn’t your life enough? Do you need to feel bigger than death?   Websites mentioned: Justin Alexander, Adventures of Justin: http://adventuresofjustin.com/ Gregory Diehl’s podcast interview on Open World Mag: http://www.openworldmag.com/33-wandering-consultant-gregory-diehl/

There are so many different marketing channels these days, so you have to work even harder to make sure your message stands out from the ever-growing crowd. That’s why we’re speaking to Gregory Diehl, a man who makes his living advising people on how to do just that. All of Gregory’s experiences travelling the world and observing the different ways people express their values made him realise that business is exactly the same as humanity... it’s all about the narrative. Gregory has written an Amazon-bestselling book, Brand Identity Breakthrough, but today he has been kind enough to share with us his top tips about how to truly define your brand and your narrative: ** Try your best to do something where there is no competition. Be different in a very specific kind of way. ** Make sure your elevator pitch is always sharp. ** 80% of knowledge you use should be gathered from personal experience. ** Ask yourself three questions: Who am I? What do I do? Why should the person you’re telling this to care? Use the last one to adjust your instinctive answers to the first two. ** Find out what common interests your potential customers share. What kind of videos will your average customer be watching? ** You will be more fulfilled in your business if you’re doing something you personally believe in, and that in-turn will improve your narrative.   In this episode of Business Brain Food you will learn: ** How to reposition yourself in a marketplace ** How to avoid being a business coward ** Financial planning to mitigate against failure ** How to achieve a unique selling position ** The traits of an armchair entrepreneur   Resources mentioned in this episode: ** Gregory’s book on Amazon ** Gregory’s own site which includes the highly popular podcast “Uncomfortable Conversations With Greg” (as recommended by Ben): http://www.gregorydiehl.net ** Ben’s free business marketing plan: http://www.maxmyprofit.com.au or email ben@maxmyprofit.com.au ** Ben’s Daily Business Tips: http://www.dbtpodcast.com ** Facebook: facebook.com/businessbrainfood ** Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/businessbrainfood ** Twitter: https://twitter.com/bfewtrell ** iTunes: http://actioncoachanz.com/itunes ** Stitcher: http://actioncoachanz.com/stitcher   As Gregory says, “A brand is like a projection of a personality”. “You have to look beyond the color and logos with brand identity. They're really the product of something deeper." It's this kind of brand introspection that Gregory Diehl excels at. As the author of two best-selling books including Brand Identity Breakthrough, Gregory has a unique, global, and modern perspective on how we build brands both online and off. We discussed all of this and more on this week's episode of the On Brand podcast. About Gregory Diehl Raised in California, author Gregory Diehl embarked at age 18 on a global quest for learning, self-discovery, entrepreneurship, and inquiry. Since then, Gregory has lived and worked in 45 countries and continues to use his experiences to help others along the path of self-fulfillment through exploration. This year, he published two Amazon bestsellers in business, travel, and personal development. He helps entrepreneurs prepare complex value messages across many mediums, and offers unconventional lifestyle coaching and brand identity consultancy for impassioned individuals. Episode Highlights What's the secret to brand identity today? Gregory's answer was surprisingly classic. "Everybody talks about your unique selling proposition but few explore what it really means." Look for ways to really be different as a brand. As Diehl says, "You should be just beyond the edges of your comfort zone." You have to look deeper, beyond the surface. "Things like color and logo are a symptom of something deeper. People try to bypass this introspection." So how can brands go deeper? Start by asking difficult questions. "There are 50 questions I use in the book (Brand Identity Breakthrough) but here are my top three. Who are you? What do you do? And why should I care?" Answering these introspective questions often short circuits scripts and elevator pitches and gets closer to true differentiation. What's the role of story in brand building today? "Story is your main differentiator. We have functional aspects of our brands like speed, price, and quality — but what does it really mean?"   What brand has made Gregory smile recently? "McDonald's — They're kind of my go-to mega brand." Gregory shared some smile-worthy insights on the disconnect between their brand personality and product. To learn more, check out Gregory's books on Amazon and his website. See how much he has progressed with his business since he stayed at The Entrepreneur House in Thailand eight months ago and… 2. Nathan has made the commitment to write a book.
Now, someone just stating they are going to write a book may seem like blowing smoke in the wind for many of you, but Nathan will be the second person that has stayed at The Entrepreneur House to write a book. The first was Gregory Dehil whom we featured on a podcast a few weeks ago. Gregory started the idea for a book while staying at The Entrepreneur House in Barcelona back in early 2015. He launched that book just a few weeks ago on May 20th, 2016 and it is now on Amazon's bestseller list.
Today Nathan addresses his business and his idea for a book, what it is about and when he plans on completing it.  Then when it is finished, we will have him back on the podcast to see how he did and let him promote it.  Mentions: Assemble Advisory http://assembleadvisory.com/ -Gregory Diehl and his book 'Brand Identity Breakthrough'. https://brandidentitybreakthrough.com/ -Members of the DC http://www.tropicalmba.com/dc/ Tim Conley http://timconley.co/

Gregory Diehl is a wordsmith, a mentor, and an explainer of how things work. Educational salesmanship and helping businesses clarify their vision and value proposition is his mission. He is also a personal coach, helping people understand their own identity in addition to their brand identity. Diehl is launching a new book called 'Brand Identity Breakthrough' and a book that I highly recommend, which is not common due to the time commitment and the value that you get from most books. His vision helps others take their vision and narrative to the level they are looking for. About two chapters into the book I realized that this book was going to be really good. I also realized it was a book that I will have to listen to more than once. There was just so much to soak up from the content. I really enjoyed it when Diehl spoke of the balance between value and profit. As a seasoned entrepreneur I still have struggles with balancing these two essential categories. Diehl put a new caveat for me on this struggle stating, that if a business is providing value to the marketplace and still struggling then it is lacking on how and where to communicate that value. If a business is communicating to the marketplace and struggling, then their value is lacking. Value and profit are not an either/or, they work hand-in-hand together. “As an entrepreneur ‘value creation' will always be your first line of defense against business failure” 'Brand Identity Breakthrough' officially launches on May 20th, 2016.
