Actors Connection in New York City named her president in the summer of 2018. Outside of performance-related work, Kahl gained experience in creative placemaking through working for Richard Bryant on the curation of the Rahway Arts District and the construction of the Hamilton Stage for the Performing Arts. She also consulted on the development of a teen center and youth advisory committee for a large New Jersey municipality using creative engagement methods and hands-on community outreach. In recent years, Kahl has built theatrical and creative arts programming for more than 15 schools and community organizations. In 2017, her company, Enspirited Projects, was nominated as one of the top three innovative companies for work in arts education and self-esteem along the Jersey Shore. Alongside her theatrical endeavors, Kahl developed a patented jewelry product, launched a greeting card line, and consulted on an emerging nutraceuticals company based in Florida. Jane is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre before relocating to New York City. Trena Bolden Fields talks with Colin McPhillamy about acting, where an actor should life, how he has used energy in his career and his new book "An Actor Walks Into China". About Colin Colin McPhillamy was born in London to Australian parents and now lives in New York. He trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. His first job as a professional actor was at the remote, but well known, Little Theatre on the Isle of Mull where he performed a solo version of Henry V playing some 40,000 parts including both the French and English armies. He wrote an account of this experience and it was broadcast on BBC Radio, receiving great press and a large mailbag from the public. He continued writing plays and short stories during the 1990s and published a volume of this work in 1999 as The Tree House and other Stories (second edition 2010). McPhillamy's second book, An Actor Walk into China, tells of his experiences playing Kent in King Lear in Beijing, and of the Shakespeare scene in China, he also describes producing a season of Chinese theater in London and some of the cultural confusion that went on.

Stage credits include over two hundred productions, at theaters across the country, including Broadway. She has appeared locally at the Guthrie, Ten Thousand Things Theater, Jungle Theater and Park Square Theatre. Barbara won a Kudos award for her performance as Dorine, in Tartuffe and has enjoyed creating a broad spectrum of characters: Hedda Gabler, Bananas, in House of Blue Leaves, Ariel in The Tempest, Alice B. Toklas in Gertrude Stein and a Companion, and most recently, Violet in August: Osage County. She has been a member of the Dept. of Theatre & Dance adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota, since 1998 and is a Teaching Artist in the Guthrie Theater Education dept. Writing credits include a screenplay and three stage plays. Barbara is a recipient of a 2011 – 2012 Minnesota State Arts Board/ National Endowment for the Arts Artist Initiative Grant for her play, Under This Roof and the 2013 MRAC Next Step Grant for her play, I am Proof Of Me.

Some of her favorite roles include Tonya in King Hedley II, Paulina in Death and the Maiden, Sylvia in The Women, Alais in Lion in Winter; Susie in Wit; and Karen in Speed the Plow. Trena Bolden Fields welcomes award-winning theatre artist, Randy Reyes to discuss how education played a role in where he is today. Randy Reyes is a theater actor/director/ educator in the Twin Cities. He got his training at the University of Utah and The Juilliard School. Randy has performed at the Guthrie, Mixed Blood, Ten Thousand Things, and Mu Performing Arts. He's directed for Mu, The Pillsbury House, Theatre in the Round, and Ten Thousand Things. He's taught at NYU Grad Acting Program, U of Minnesota/Guthrie BFA Acting Program, The Guthrie Experience, Augsburg College, and Macalester. Randy moved to the Twin Cities from NYC eight years ago and is the incoming Artistic Director of Mu Performing Arts, a 21 year old company that does theater and taiko from the heart of the Asian American experience.
Kim Hines first set foot on the professional stage as a child when she became the member of the Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis. Kim has performed at Mixed Blood, Illusion, Penumbra and the Guthrie. As a director, Kim has worked with Mu Performing Arts, Park Square, Theater in the Round, The Great American History Theater, Illusion Theater, Theatre Unbound, Augsburg College, Cornell University in New York, University of Northern Iowa and Kansas University. Her writtern work has been produced at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Kim holds a B.A. in Speech & Theater and Visual Art from Macalester College. Sean Byrd is an actor/director/teacher with a BFA in acting/directing from Stephen F. Austin State University and an MFA in Performance Studies from Western Illinois University. He was a founding company member and Producing Director of Wax Fruit Theatre Company in Chicago. In the Twin Cities, Sean has acted with such threatres as 15 Head: A Theatre Lab, The Minnesota Shakespeare Project, Fifty Foot Penguin, Pig’s Eye, Sandbox and Hardcover. In 2012, he appeared in Walking Shadow Theatre Company’s production of Compleat Female Stage Beauty which won the Ivey Award for Production Excellence. He is a full-time faculty member and director in the Department of Theatre at Normandale College in Bloomington, MN. He is married to director/actor, Anne Byrd. They have one daughter, Terri and two granddaughters, Holly and Harriet.

Wendy Mckenzie began her career in the entertainment industry as a fashion model. At a booked video shoot, the casting director realized that she needed additional models to complete the job. Wendy offered her services to assist the casting director with coordinating a last minute casting. Realizing that she had a knack for recognizing talent, she began to freelance on numerous casting projects. Early in her career she worked with prominent casting director, Tracy Moore, to cast for “New Jersey Drive”. Wendy was part of the team that welcomed newcomer, Christopher Wallace, aka “Notorious B.I.G.” to the project. She partnered with mentor, Tracy “Twinkie” Byrd to cast memorable music videos for artists, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and numerous others. Branching off on her own, Wendy became a regular casting facilitator for MTV On Air Promos such as “Yo Mama”, “Sucker Free Sunday”; and product launches and ad campaigns for G-Unit Clothing, 7th on 6th Fashion week, “Fusha Designs” and numerous others.
