Welcome to day 2 of The 12 Nightmares Before ChristmasFifty-five-year-old Margarette Eby lived a rich and full life as a music professor at the University of Michigan. Margarette was well-liked by her students and coworkers and had several grown children of her own. Around 4:30 in the afternoon on November 9th, 1986, some of Margarette's students arrived at the cottage to take her to a concert. When the students knocked on the door, they were met with silence. Finally, one of them tried the doorknob, and it was unlocked. They entered the cottage and found a grisly scene.Margarette Eby was Flint, Michigan's 56th homicide that year.Five years later, in hotel room 354 in Romulus, Michigan, the wake-up calls from the front desk went unanswered. A 41-year-old flight attendant, Nancy Jean Ludwig Lud wig, from Minnetonka, Minnesota, had checked into room 354 around 9 P.M. the night before. Nancy had been a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines since 1976 and enjoyed her job quite a bit. It was about 12:50 in the afternoon when the housekeeper opened the door to a pitch-black room. The housekeeper walked over to the window and, upon opening the curtains, turned and discovered Nancy Jean Ludwig. She had been stabbed to death. Both cases went cold until 2002 when new technology helped investigators find their killer, Jeffrey Wayne Gorton.Join Cam and Jen as they discuss "Room 354: Jeffrey Gorton"Thank you to our team:Written and researched by Lauretta AllenListener Discretion by Edward October from https://www.youtube.com/c/octoberpodhomevideoExecutive Producer Nico Vitesse of https://theinkypawprint.comSources:https://mdocweb.state.mi.us/otis2/otis2profile.aspx?mdocNumber=428571https://murderpedia.org/male.G/g/gorton-jeffrey.htmhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Gortonhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B017VDEE7I/ref=atv_dp_season_select_s2 (S2E8 of Your Worst Nightmare on ID “Fight or Flight”)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTRvWZIpw-I It is also featured on the Forensics Files episode "Silk Stalkings." "It's the Great Pumpkin, Harry" is a baffling Halloween episode that barely matters because it's all a dream, but gets even dumber with the more you think about it. Why exactly is this boss dreaming about his employees having sex with strangers? Why do the characters seem to have some understanding that they're in a dream? And what exactly was that movie he was watching? It's a ridiculous show that is easily one of the stupidest things we've ever covered and it's great fun.  If you like the show, give us a rating on Apple Podcasts. Today on the Rarified Heir Podcast encore edition, we are talking to Innis Casey, son of writer/producer J. Rickey Dumm who worked with friend, classmate and iconic TV show hitmaker Stephen J. Cannell on many of his hit shows including Magnum PI, Silk Stalkings, Renegade and Rockford Files among others. Innis is brutally honest about his writer/producer father and his years growing up which was both fantastic and downright scary. This episode pulls no punches and I don't' think Innis would have had it any other way. Aside from his years growing up with trips to Hawaii for Magnum, we learn that for a good period of time in the early 2000s, Innis made quite a name for himself in Latin music, becoming the much sought after star, Innis (like Charo, no last name) touring Mexico, Spain and both South America and Central America as a Latin pop star. Really, how many among our guests did a photo shoot for a magazine cover with Christina Aguilera? And believe me, we've seen it when someone gets all aflutter seeing Innis out and about in public in Los Angeles. So how does a white dude from LA become a Latin pop star? Ah-ha! That's the rub. You will have to listen to his story, right here, right now on this edition of the Rarified Heir Podcast. Everyone has a story.

Today on the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to Innis Casey, whose father J. Rickley Dumm was a writer and producer in the 1970s, 80s and 90s on shows like The Rockford Files, Adam-12, Magnum P.I., Silk Stalkings, Stingray, Renegade and more. He and his college roommate Stephen J. Cannell worked on a massive amount of television shows after selling their first script together for the series It Takes a Thief. Innis talks to us about growing up with his dad which at times wasn't easy to say the least. In the go-go 80s, excess and a short fuse were a lethal combination and it led to some difficult professional and familial moments for the family. One minute, Innis is learning to swim in Hawaii on the set of Magnum and the next, he's seeing his father blackballed out of Hollywood for his out-of-control behavior. It's probably the most intense and truthful episode we've ever done on the podcast. We also learn about Innis' own career as a Latin pop star whose big break in the business is about to happen just when it gets detailed on 9/11. So what does he do? Innis becomes an actor who becomes a recurring role on the Kiefer Sutherland series 24, acts in films with Jonathan Winters and Jacqueline Bisset & today is an in-demand photographer whose Quartraits book chronicling the beginning of the Corona Virus in 2020 was covered by CNN, HLN, ABC7 and KCBS2. It's a sprawling conversation that at times is emotional and Innis pulls no punches. It's not always an easy listen but because it's innis Casey talking, it's an  ultimately rewarding and redemptive story. This episode isn't for the faint of heart. It's ultimately a story of finding your own way in the chaotic world of celebrity. This is the Rarified Heir Podcast.

He worked his way through college playing and singing in a show band. After graduating Montclair State College with a major in trombone and a minor in piano, his band was booked as a Las Vegas lounge act in many of the major hotels. Russell even worked in the Atlantic City 500 Club where Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis first got together as a team.  “I was 63 years old when I got on the Bonnie Hunt show.” – Tony Russell Tony shares some of his tragic memories when he was young. The attack on Pearl Harbor happened, his father's brother, who was also his best friend, got killed in the war. It was back in 1941 when a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor took place in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii. Part Two of ‘The Power of Yes with Entertainer Tony Russell’ Anthony (Tony) Russell originally from Newark, New Jersey, came to Hollywood in 1967 to pursue a career in show business. Tony is multi-faceted being an actor, stand-up comedian, singer, musician, composer and nightclub entertainer. He came into prominence as “Tony Russo'' on the ABC Television Network's hilarious sitcom, "Life with Bonnie" starring Bonnie Hunt.  “Do you have a vision that you want to emerge?” – Dianne A. Allen  Encouraged by his best friend who recognized his talents, Russell journeyed to New York to study acting at HB Studios and eventually earned a coveted membership in the acclaimed Actors Studio. He appeared in four of the group's stage productions, and was also in the cast of "Lamppost Reunion'' which won the best ensemble acting award at the Court Theater in Hollywood. Doom is here! Back in Episode Two, Eric laid claim to Episode Thirteen as the day he would subject Jake and Nick to a topic of his choosing, and that day has finally arrived. And being the lone pro-wrestling fan on the pod, the topic Eric chose was "horror movies featuring professional wrestlers." We start with the horror cornerstone of WWE Studios: See No Evil (2006) starring Kane / Glenn Jacobs. Next is Dragon Blue (1996), featuring wrestling legend The Great Muta / Keiji Mutoh. After that we review Fallen Angels (2006) featuring Christy Hemme as the demonic "Lust." And lastly, after teasing "Doom is coming" for months, we make that decidedly literal by reviewing Doom (2005) starring The Rock / Dwayne Johnson. In true wrestling fashion, the episode also features "run-ins" by our previous pod guests Fred Schatz and Jeremiah Jones-Goldstein, so this episode also serves as an oversized finale to our first year (we released two episodes back in our first month). So fix yourself an oversized side of potato salad and settle in for a fun chat spanning wrestling memories of our youth, a lot of laughter, and lot of whimpering, several references to Silk Stalkings and finally four horror movies that are fascinating distillations of their sub-genres. We really hope you enjoy this episode, and thanks so much for listening!! TIMECODES: *See No Evil = 00:15:04 *Dragon Blue = 01:28:49 *Fallen Angels = 02:48:15 *Doom =04:36:09

It's another thriller, but we aren't thrilled by 1988's D.O.A., featuring Dennis Quaid as a former wunderkind novelist turned tenured professor in a rut. No: really. Is that off-label casting why this confrontationally sweaty film doesn't work? Is it the lack of onscreen chemistry between Quaid and Jane Kaczmarek...AND Jane and Meg Ryan? Does a fetal Robert "T-Bag" Knepper need more to do? New Coke, Silk Stalkings, Wonder Boys, Binder & Binder, and the heartbreak of chronic zydeco all factor into our discussion of a "noir" in which noir wit doesn't factor...at all.
