Send JD a text message and be heard!JD TALKIN SPORTS OVI TIES THE GREAT ONE! The torch has been passed from @waynegretzky to @aleksandrovechkinofficial never thought I would see this in my lifetime. Love Gretzky congratulating @ryan.leno_4 on his first #nhl goal with @capitals plus Ovi refusing to break the record with an empty netter. @companyadjace @downtimetv @brianbarnaby @robparker1980 & @donna.fender talked @yankees @thejudge44 hit his 6th #homerun last night. Took him 29 #mlb games last year. Barns brought up good point how negative people have been this year about Yanks since losing @juansoto_25 to @mets and we see it as a blessing in disguise. I never felt Soto was a true Yankee and he obviously took the most money. Good riddance. Love that Barns & HTJ are not fair weather fans of the Yankees & Mets respectively. Honest, diehard fans. Mets won opening day with only four hits all for extra bases and @polarpete20 off to a hot start with 3 dingers and 10 RBI's. @tylor_megill 2-0 start. It's good for NYC if both teams are playing well. @d1_isaac3 @mvillemustangfb want you on a future show. @nyrangers getting beat up @njdevils 2-43 on the PP fighting for a playoff spot. I would love them to get to the #nhlplayoffs but a rebuild is needed. Lot of players underperforming. @nyknicks getting back @jalenbrunson1 but don't feel good about #nbaplayoffs

We caught up and chatted with our friend Sloane Martin , the voice of the Lynx to discuss the raising to the rafters of Sylvia's now-retired Lynx jersey as she was honored last night at Target Center.
Kicking off the second hour of the Lake Show this Monday night, we have a lot of questions regarding the recent release of the 44 page indictment against Donald Trump , but how can his supporters continue to stand by as the details of this indictment unfold? We take your calls, texts, and thoughts on that. We also talk with the voice of the Lynx, Sloane Martin on the heels of the Lynx honoring and retiring Sylvia Fowles number, hanging it in the rafters of the Target Center. Also dive into how the Lynx can improve down the stretch as we are into the summer months of the WNBA season now.
As we near the end of our 2023 Team Outlook series, we discuss the Lynx falling short of the playoffs in the final season of the Sylvia Fowles era, what to expect from number two overall pick Diamond Miller and who is going to be initiating the offense in Minnesota. Statistics and information provided by the WNBA stats page, the EuroBasket stats page, Synergy Sports, Her Hoop Stats, Across the Timeline, Basketball Reference and lynxdata(dot)wordpress(dot)com.

Former LSU quarterback Walker Howard decided to enter the transfer portal to find a place where he would have the opportunity to compete, meaning a place where he wouldn't run scout team each week and have the ability to back up the starter. With starting QB Jayden Daniels forgoing the NFL Draft and returning to LSU for his final year of eligibility and backup Garrett Nussmeier staying put as the Tigers backup, Howard was left with few opportunities to compete in the purple and gold. So he committed to Ole Miss where he would likely backup 2022 starter Jaxson Dart and be able to develop in Lane Kiffin's high flying offensive system. But former Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders had the same idea and he committed to Ole Miss just days after Howard's announcement. So now Howard finds himself again buried beneath two other older, more experienced QBs. So did Howard make a big mistake leaving LSU to pursue an opportunity with Kiffin, or does Kiffin have bigger plans in store? Plus, Kim Mulkey's squad sits atop the rest of women's college basketball at 20-0 as the number four team in the nation. Who is riding the highest, though? Angel Reese. Reese set a school record with most consecutive double doubles in LSU women's college basketball history. LSU's 89-51 win over Alabama marked Reese's 20th double double in a row with 14 points and 14 rebounds to match. Reese breaks LSU womens basketball legend, Sylvia Fowles, record. Finally, LSU mens basketball takes on Arkansas Tuesday night for the second time in less than a month and we feel drastically different about both of those teams now than we did in late December. LSU took down a top-ten Arkansas team then, but now LSU has lost six straight games and sits at 1-6 in SEC play after a brutal 77-56 loss against Tennessee at home over the weekend. On the other hand, the Razorbacks have only won two conference games and each team looks to turn things around Tuesday. Can the Tigers get back in the SEC win column with a second win over Arkansas? Introduction: Even as the Twins have spent most of this season either in first place or contending for an AL Central title, the vibe has been negative. So let's spend some time after a 9-0 win over the Royals to highlight three players who have stood out for the Twins so far this season (and did so again on Tuesday). 7:00: Star Tribune Lynx writer Kent Youngblood joins host Michael Rand for a look back on a disappointing season. At 14-22, the Lynx missed the playoffs for the first time since 2010. Big changes are on the way with legendary center Sylvia Fowles retiring. How long will it take the Lynx to return to prominence? 23:00: The Lynx used to be the default pick for Minnesota team most likely to win a championship in the next five years, but that's no longer the case. Now? The Wild and Wolves are at the top of that conversation. 28:00: Sounds like Aaron Rodgers doesn't love his young wide receivers.
Vent Line on SKOR North - for Vikings and Minnesota sports fans
SKOR North producers AJ Fredrickson, Jason Stormer & Artis Woods recap the Minnesota Vikings preseason loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Who's got the edge at QB2, Sean Mannion or Kellen Mond? Are there any free agent quarterbacks they should look at? The guys also recap a not-so-great California road trip for the Minnesota Twins and bid farewell to Minnesota Lynx legend, Sylvia Fowles. Catch these topics, plus your weekly Minnesota United FC update, on this week's Taxi Squad!
In this episode, I discuss the legacy Sylvia Fowles leaves after retiring from basketball. I also give my round one WNBA playoff predictions and bring on Marcus, host of the Goat Talk Podcast, to breakdown the AFC North.
