Mixtape Made in January 2021 with tracks and remixes from the label RAWKUS. Rawkus Records is an independent Hip-Hop label created in 1995 and which, last I heard, was based in New York. The team was a great springboard for many Hip-Hop artists of the 2000s (Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch) and totally embodies this trend that some call “BoomBap“ Hip-Hop. The label was founded by Jarret Myer and Brian Brater. Discover through our selection mixed by @djenjay, label our favorites of this, compilation of its artists and their excellent. Do not hesitate to share the mix, comment and invite your friends to like our page as well as that of Dj Enjay. Good listening to all (Mix available on Mixcloud and Soundcloud). Your suggestions for our next mixes are welcome. Tracklisting 01. Big L - Fall Back (feat. Kool G Rap) 02. Marco Polo - Relax (Feat. J Davey) 03. Q-Tip - What Lies Beneath 04. Follow DJ Franchise:Instagram: @iknowfranchiseTwitch: DJFranchiseTwitter: @iknowfranchiseAn hour-long mix of timeless covers on familiar songs, 1000 Count inspires the listener to disCOVER new artists and music. Keep an open-minded ear and challenge yourself to discover a taste for something unconventional.A thread of soul-influenced, indie-minded covers featuring: Amy Winehouse, Quadron, Goapele, Bilal, J*Davey, TV On The Radio, Toro Y Moi, ZO! & Phonte. From Earmilk's Liz Choi:"I've listened to all of Franchise's mixes by now but 1000 Count is what made me think this DJ has some legitimate sixth sense about my musical affinities. Has he been tracking my musical tastes since the 7th grade? That or he's just really damn good at what he's doing. This "DJ" (mad scientist, is more like it) takes a Goapele cover of Sinead O'Conner and spreads it over a sample of Kanye's Runaway, for crying out loud. One minute it's that, the next it's Bilal covering Radiohead. I mean, c'mon. For fear of spoiling the entire mix, I'll restrain myself from mentioning several other gems found on this mix.But trust that if you have even the slightest hankerings for groups like The Knife and Platinum Pied Pipers or artists like Musiq Soulchild and Frank Ocean, you'll play this mix more than four times. In the words of Franchise, the goal of this mix is to encourage listeners to "keep an open-minded ear and challenge yourself to discover a taste for something unconventional." Challenge most gladly accepted."Read more at https://earmilk.com/2011/10/12/dj-franchise-1000-count-mix/#Uw4XBiOTgB4bJ5VX.99Support the show (https://www.instagram.com/iknowfranchise/)

Number 3 already!R&B is probably what I play most. I like how you can mix the known with the unknown and the old with the new while soundwise it all fits together just right! I especialy like the "future" sound of this genre so aside better known tracks by Ty Dolla Sign, Ella Mai, Majid Jordan, Justin Timberlake and Jhene Aiko I've also included a timeless gem by J*DaVeY, an old remix by SirOJ of a Ryan Leslie track, this overlooked song by Soft Glas, a rare DEAN and Anderson .Paak collabo, tracks by upcoming stars Zacari and Kyle Dion and a favorite modern track by Brandy!Mixed on my XDJ RX-1 again!S/O to Zoë Love Smith helping me design for the cover again ♥

Soil & "Pimp" Sessions are known for their wild live performances and unique style of jazz, punk rock, and funk fusion. With the new album Planet Pimp hitting stores this week and generating great critical acclaim, Soil & "Pimp" Sessions are poised to take over the United States' alternative, club, fusion, and contemporary jazz scenes as they did in their native Japan. The Londonist aptly called it "just what jazz needs right now: an operation to remove all that’s outdated, and a much-needed adrenalin shot in the arm.”    COA
