In this episode of The Backstory on the Shroud of Turin, host Guy Powell interviews Janis Winchester—a longtime Shroud researcher, speaker, and member of the Shroud 2025 Conference committee. Janis shares how her initial curiosity transformed into a faith-deepening mission to understand the Shroud's image, science, and message. Her exposure to top experts like Kevin Moran and Barry Schwortz and her use of VP8 image analysis helped her see what she describes as “unseen evidence”—particularly the blood from the lance wound and the peaceful expression on the face of the man in the cloth. These elements led her to a deep conviction: the Shroud is not just a mystery of history, but a mirror of the Gospels and the love of Jesus Christ. In her upcoming presentation at the Shroud 2025 Conference, Janis will guide attendees through the physical, historical, and scriptural evidence of the Shroud's authenticity—encouraging others to come to their own conclusions while drawing closer to the peace of God.Click here to view the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjeflZANnFQ
In this powerful and deeply honest episode of The Hypnotist, Adam Cox speaks with Kevin Moran, founder of Acadian Rock Hypnosis based in Portland, Maine. Kevin is a board-certified consulting hypnotist and NLP practitioner who specialises in working with shame, guilt, anxiety, and the often-silent trauma of sexual abuse, particularly female-on-male sexual assault. Kevin shares his personal journey into hypnosis, how his own lived experiences shaped his practice, and the importance of breaking the stigma around male victims of sexual trauma. This conversation also explores the complex overlap between narcissistic abuse and sexual abuse, and how hypnosis can be a powerful tool in helping survivors process and reclaim their identity and power. This is a must-listen episode for anyone interested in trauma-informed hypnotherapy, emotional healing, and the human capacity to transform pain into purpose. Connect with Kevin Moran:

In October 2001, the dismembered remains of seventy-one-year-old Morris Black were found floating in Galveston Bay. A few days later, Black's neighbor, Robert Durst, was arrested on suspicion of murder and released on $250,000 bail. After posting bail, Durst jumped bail and disappeared for six weeks, before being arrested by Pennsylvania authorities at the end of November. In the years that followed, investigators and prosecutors began combing through Durst's life, discovering disturbing connections between the excentric millionaire and the mysterious disappearances and deaths of several people who were once close to Durst. Robert Durst had been a suspect in the murder of Morris Black, but was it possible he was in fact a multiple murderer who'd evaded detection for decades?Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAssociated Press. 2001. Kevin Moran, a famous figure from United's past, joined Helen Evans and David May to discuss his career on our latest UTD Podcast. The Irish centre-back was with May at Blackburn Rovers late in his career but only after starting two FA Cup finals with United in the 1980s, as we lifted the cup by beating Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton. Unfortunately, Kevin was the first man ever to be sent off in the showpiece event, for a foul on Everton's Peter Reid in 1985. Ron Atkinson's 10 men still won, thanks to Norman Whiteside's iconic goal, and, of course, Moran recalls that day and answers the question of whether he ever received his medal.Growing up, he played hurling and Gaelic football in his homeland, which could have derailed his United career before it had started, as he would secretly play in some high-profile games in the Republic of Ireland, without the club's knowledge! He even reveals he turned the Reds down when they first came calling!A late starter, he only got into football at 14, his commitment and bravery would become legendary with United's gamble on him paying off. Atkinson replacing Dave Sexton at the helm made a difference in terms of his fight for a first-team place, but his time at Old Trafford came to an end after Sir Alex Ferguson's arrival, which he discusses in detail as the Scot tried to rid the club of its drinking culture.A move to Sporting Gijon in Spain showed his sense of adventure and he would remain a stalwart for Republic of Ireland, being part of Jack Charlton's famous 1990 World Cup side and even making the squad four years later, as he ended up on 71 caps.Kevin tells us more about his interesting career path after retirement and is still a season ticket-holder at Old Trafford. This your chance to hear his story in full! The best place to catch up on the back-catalogue of our interviews is over on the Manchester United App, where you can listen to - and watch - all of our episodes in full, for free. Season 3 Episode 3 Focus Brands https://www.focusbrands.com/ Connect with Kevin Moran https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevin-moran-1499129/ Connect with Tony Moore https://www.linkedin.com/in/differentbetterspecialbrands/ and if you are hiring in 2023 - ATTRACT people to your brand by allowing them to "sample" your culture, mission, and purpose (DEMO) Kevin Moran, Vice President of Strategy Development and Analysis, shares where brands are expanding internationally, why the international market is hot, and what strategies to take. I have added more information in the show notes. “How to expand a brand internationally” Are you selling or developing? What is your purpose? Grow locally to build brand recognition. The key to successful brand marketing is tapping into existing loyal customers. Understand the propensity of the country to take your product. In other words, know your market. Beef products are not going to succeed in India because the cow is a sacred animal. Seek differentiators i.e., what will make your brand stand out among other similar brands in the market. Determine where and how you are going to source products. Must also consider volumes and cost. Tariffs Importation taxes Transportation of goods Storage Evaluate purchasing power based on COGs and competitive menu pricing Menu flexibility – core vs. country. How much does the menu change based on local flavor preferences? How big or small can your footprint be to allow for equipment and prep space? Real-estate costs Lease terms Traffic patterns (accessibility or customer count required to break even or grow) Understand the labor market and your current labor model. Create mock P&Ls to determine if the model is feasible. Consider franchising with an established international franchisor because they have already done this work and have the support in space to ensure a successful market launch. Legal costs associated with compliance, trademarks, disclosures, etc. Each country has different rules. Don't let your emotions override the math. Your personal passion for a brand does not indicate its success. TEST, TEST, and TEST again. Collect the data necessary to make an informed decision. Don't think that you'll “figure it out later.” AWESOME video on differentiation - https://vimeo.com/644948109/6b3d99c76c About me and my mission and podcast: Are you looking for a fun and light-hearted podcast to discover unique brands and learn about the people and strategies successful companies are implementing in the CPG and Food and Beverage Industry? Matt Lombardi (@mattlombardi24) is a former professional athlete, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Beam (@beam). He began his collegiate athletic career at Boston College playing hockey, a dream he developed as a child. Winning two national championships in his four years, he went on to play professional hockey, signing with the New Jersey Devils and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Matt moved into a different career path after a bad injury in his last year. Throughout his entrepreneurial endeavors, he was still very devoted to his passion for sports and living an active lifestyle. In 2018, Matt was training for The Boston Marathon with his long-time friend and former professional athlete, Kevin Moran. The two trained rigorously while balancing their everyday social and work lives, which became not so seamless anymore. With that, they both found relief in CBD, and in their findings, they realized that there were many issues in the CBD marketplace. That is when Lombardi and Moran decided to create beam, their line of organic, pharmaceutical-grade, full-spectrum CBD products made from organic hemp grown in Colorado with no additives and consumer transparency. Matt Lombardi | Cofounder & Co-Owner Matt Lombardi grew up in the greater Boston area, aspiring to one day play for the Boston College hockey team. Lombardi achieved this goal, becoming a standout player contributing to the team's 2008 and 2010 national championship wins. After graduating from the Carroll School of Management with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, Lombardi went on to play professional hockey with the New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins organizations. Lombardi later moved away from professional sports and into the world of entrepreneurship but continues to be passionate about pushing his limits athletically and professionally. While training for the 2018 Boston Marathon with fellow former professional athlete, Kevin Moran, the two friends felt the effects of old injuries while striving to perform at their best. Searching for a remedy, Moran and Lombardi looked to CBD products but were dismayed at what they found - an unregulated marketplace full of products with trace amounts of THC and other unlisted toxic additives. Rather than turning away from the industry, this experience inspired Moran and Lombardi to create Beam. Beam offers effective wellness products that harness the benefits of natural, non-toxic nano CBD and other high-quality ingredients, empowering others to push their limits and pursue their passions by improving their physical and mental wellness. Kevin Moran | Cofounder & Co-Owner Growing up in Barnstable, Massachusetts, Kevin Moran dreamed of one day playing in the MLB. After enduring numerous injuries, Moran decided to retire from professional baseball and return to Boston College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management. Post-graduation, Moran excelled in his tech industry career while challenging himself to new athletic pursuits. Moran and his co-founder Matt Lombardi founded the company after having to cut their professional athletic careers unexpectedly short from suffering one too many injuries. They watched the CBD industry grow and wondered how they could get involved. And as frequent users of the cannabinoid to treat their own ailments, they were big believers that they could build a brand that felt accessible, bright, and fun.
