Newcastle NSW: The Next Big Opportunity for Property Investors in 2025

Talk Property To Me Podcast

Welcome back to another episode of Talk Property To Me! I'm your host, Brad East, and alongside my co-host Aaron Downie, we dive deep into the vibrant property market of Newcastle, exploring its historical evolution and future potential for investors. In this episode, we discuss whether Newcastle is still a viable investment opportunity as we look ahead to 2025. We start by unpacking the historical context of Newcastle, which has transitioned from an industrial hub, known as the "Steel City," to a gentrified urban area with significant growth potential. We highlight the transformation of key areas like the Honeysuckle Precinct, which has evolved from a derelict industrial site to a thriving waterfront community. We analyse the cyclical nature of Newcastle's property market, noting how past economic events, such as the GFC and COVID-19, have influenced buyer confidence and market dynamics. Despite recent high interest rates cooling the market, we observe that certain properties are still trading quickly, particularly in the sub-million dollar range, while others linger on the market longer. As we look to the future, we discuss the impressive population growth forecast for Newcastle, projected at around 21% over the next two decades, which is above the New South Wales average. This growth is supported by substantial infrastructure investments, including upgrades to Newcastle Airport, the extension of the M1 motorway, and the development of a clean energy precinct at the Port of Newcastle. These projects are expected to create thousands of jobs and boost the local economy, making Newcastle an attractive place to live and invest. We also touch on the ongoing redevelopment of the East End and Honeysuckle areas, which are becoming increasingly desirable for both residents and investors. With a focus on specific suburbs, we share our top recommendations for investment, including Lambton, New Lambton Heights, and Rankin Park, which are all positioned for significant growth due to their proximity to key amenities like hospitals and universities. Throughout the episode, we emphasise the importance of understanding the nuances of the property market, including the need for situational awareness when selecting properties. We conclude by inviting listeners to reach out for personalised advice on navigating the Newcastle property landscape. Join us as we explore the exciting opportunities that Newcastle has to offer for both first-time buyers and seasoned investors. Whether you're looking to buy, sell, or simply learn more about the market, this episode is packed with valuable insights and expert recommendations. Lydia sends letters to her mother, saying that she is visiting libraries and is spending time with Mr and Mrs Forster with the officers, and sends letters to her sister Kitty, saying far more interesting things with a lot of hidden details. Elizabeth isn't feeling amazing, and the thoughts of her northern tour with her aunt and uncle keep her morale above water. Her aunt however writes saying that her work is preventing them from coming at the expected time, and that their tour is also going to have to be cut short, meaning that they should only really be able to go as far north as Derbyshire… Eventually her family arrives, and they set off for the North with Elizabeth. When they get to Derbyshire, they explore the area where Mrs Gardiner used to live, Lambton, only 5 miles from Pemberly. Both of the Gardiners wish to visit the grounds and ask Elizabeth if she would go there. After asking the chambermaid if Darcy would be there and finding out he wouldn't, she agrees to go.Support the Show.Thank you so much for listening, if you want to support the me go to any of these links :)*Social*INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/theessentialreadsTWITTER: http://twitter.com/IsaacBirchallvoKo-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/theessentialreads

Then again, not many Wellingtonians are happy with the state of Courtenay Place, either, with the Reading shopping complex looking particularly run-down. We delve into Chapter 41, where fraught emotions and frivolous flirtations abound. As the final weekend of the regiment's sojourn in Meryton arrives, a cloud of gloom descends upon the young ladies of the town. Yet, among this dejection, Lydia Bennet finds herself in a delightful delirium; she is invited to accompany Mrs. Forster, the newly married, and rather naïve wife of the colonel, to the bustling, vibrant seaside resort of Brighton. Heedless of her sister Kitty's heartache and Elizabeth's remaining scepticism, Lydia excites herself with visions of invaluable introductions and romantic ventures with officers. However, Elizabeth's perturbation swells as she foresees the potential disasters this trip could spell for Lydia and, by extension, the image of their family. Despite her eloquent pleas and appeals to her father's reason, Mr. Bennet remains nonchalantly confident that Lydia's presence in Brighton will only emphasize her insignificance and help her realise her shallow aspirations. Dismayed yet resigned, Elizabeth retreats to accept the inevitability of Lydia's escapades in Brighton. In Chapter 42, we see life in the Bennet household slowly recovering its usual serenity, following Lydia's departure. The sisters wait impatiently for Lydia's promised letters, which turn out to be inevitably short and filled with frivolous details of her ventures. As plans for Elizabeth's trip to the Lake District are postponed and curtailed by an unexpected letter from Mrs. Gardiner, her hopes and expectations oscillate between disappointment and anticipation.Instead of the much admired Lakes, the Gardiner family, accompanied by dear Lizzy, find themselves bound for Derbyshire and the small town of Lambton. And yes, not far from this town sits the much spoken of estate of one Mr. Darcy, Pemberley. Although anguished by the mere idea of seeing Mr. Darcy or visiting Pemberley, Elizabeth has to contend with her aunt's desire to visit the said estate. Her alarm dissipates, however, when she finds out the Darcy family is not in residence for the summer. Acknowledging her inevitable curiosity, Elizabeth consents to tour Pemberley and thus, they are bound for this notable manor.

Today's conversation was a special one for me, as I sat down with my Dad, Ian Lindsay to unpack his game and discuss this sport we both love. A little background on him, he's a member and 6 time club champion at Lambton Golf and Country Club where he also holds the old course, course record with a smooth 64.  He was the youngest club champion at Lambton and the only person to win the junior, men's and senior club championship titles. He's been a scratch or better for over four decades, and I have been fortunate to witness some amazing play along the way. Some highlights include 13 hole in ones, scores of 64 and 65 on numerous occasions and a 9 under par at lomas santa fe executive course, where he shot a back 9, 8 under. I'm grateful to have been able to learn from him over the years and I'm thrilled to be able to share some of these insights with you as well. We hope you enjoy!

Labour Rongotai MP Paul Eagle, who is also vying for the mayoralty of Wellington, has announced a new policy on Newstalk ZB. Speaking on Wellington Mornings with Nick Mills, Eagle revealed he plans to in-source council works. "I want to announce I'm concerned about basic issues," he said. "I'll be looking at in-sourcing council work. When I was last on, we outsourced because it was easy to do but with the pipes, civil works, slips - we need to look at a whole new way of delivering services." Eagle is pitching stability after a term of in-fighting, exploding pipes and plummeting confidence in the council's decision-making. "Wellingtonians expect the city to pull its weight," he said. He wants to run a ruler over council spending to reprioritise funding and get back to basics (parks, pools, pipes, and potholes). He told Mills he believes his chances of winning the mayoralty are "10 out of 10" - and if not, then he's definitely in the top three he joked. Recently, Eagle has been embroiled in controversy over accusations he put up his election hoardings early - a claim his spokesperson has denied. Georgina Stylianou said the allegations were not true. Frames and posts were dropped off by Eagle and his volunteers at all 29 public sites on Friday from first thing until midnight, Stylianou said. "A volunteer crew constructed the frames in the Lambton and Onslow-Western wards after midnight. The corflute arrived from the factory around 11pm." "After unpacking it, Paul personally went out with additional volunteers around 1.30am and put these on the frames in the Onslow-Western ward only." A member of rationale. and formerly Real Friends, Lambton has long shared his struggles with bipolar disorder, in which he describes a fairly predictable cycle. He will feel more at baseline, where according to him he is able to function with his day-to-day life, and then experience a manic episode that is characterized by racing thoughts and pressured speech in which he is talking very quickly. While he says these times can be creatively productive, they're also damaging to his health, including not being able to sleep or eat. Then comes depressive episodes with their lower moods and lack of productivity. Lambton joins Dr. Mike on Going There to discuss how he manages his bipolar disorder with a regimen of medication and group therapy.
