In this message from Generation Church, Pastor Ryan Visconti kicks off the Money Myths series with a powerful teaching from Matthew 6:19–34. Jesus doesn't treat money like a neutral tool. He exposes it as a rival master that competes for your devotion. You'll learn what Jesus meant by “You cannot serve God and mammon,” why your treasure is tethered to your heart, and how worry reveals a divided soul. God calls us to stop placing our certainty in a bank balance and start leaning fully on the Lord.If you've been battling financial anxiety, a scarcity mindset, or the feeling that “more money will finally make me secure,” this sermon will remind you that God is not only a Master worth serving - He is a loving Father who knows your needs and promises to provide.
Milanese culinary history reflects the city's position as a prosperous crossroads in northern Italy, where fertile Po Valley agriculture met centuries of foreign rule, trade, and innovation. Rooted in Lombardy's rich plains, lakes, and alpine foothills, the cuisine emphasizes hearty, comforting ingredients like rice (introduced via ancient trade routes and cultivated extensively since Roman times), butter over olive oil, beef and veal from abundant cattle farming, dairy products, and slow-cooked preparations suited to cooler climates. From Celtic and Roman foundations—where Gauls and Insubrians coexisted with settlers who brought lamb and irrigation techniques—Milanese food evolved through medieval communes, Renaissance courts under the Visconti and Sforza families, and foreign dominations that layered influences: Spanish Habsburg rule from 1535 introduced spices and techniques, Austrian control in the 18th-19th centuries sparked debates over dishes like cotoletta, and broader European exchanges refined aristocratic tastes.Iconic dishes emerged from this blend of peasant practicality and bourgeois elegance. The cotoletta alla milanese—a breaded and fried veal cutlet—has ancient origins, documented as early as 1134 in records from Sant'Ambrogio Basilica listing "lombolos cum panitio" (breaded loins) served to canons. A 19th-century patriotic dispute with Austrians claiming it derived from Wiener schnitzel was settled when Marshal Radetzky, in a letter, confirmed that no such dish existed in Austria, affirming its Milanese primacy. Risotto alla milanese, the golden saffron-infused rice, carries a beloved legend from 1574: during the construction of Milan's Duomo, a Flemish glassmaker's assistant nicknamed "Zafferano" (saffron) for using the spice to tint stained glass was pranked by colleagues who added it to wedding rice as a joke—the vibrant, flavorful result became a sensation. While the tale persists, the first printed recipes appear in the early 1800s, such as in Giovanni Felice Luraschi's 1829 cookbook, solidifying its status as a refined staple often enriched with bone marrow and served as a luxurious side.Ossobuco alla milanese ("bone with a hole"), braised cross-cut veal shanks prized for their marrow, dates to the late 19th century as a winter comfort food from humble kitchens, though marrow-based braises echo medieval traditions. Traditionally paired with risotto alla milanese for a complete piatto unico (one-dish meal), it embodies rustic depth with the bright contrast of gremolata. Other hallmarks include panettone, the dome-shaped Christmas sweet bread with origins in the 15th century (legend ties it to a 15th-century baker's improvisation), cassoeula (a pork and cabbage stew), minestrone alla milanese, and mondeghili (Milanese meatballs repurposing leftovers). Butter, rice over pasta, and long-simmered stews distinguish it from southern Italian olive oil and tomato-driven fare. At the same time, influences from the Austrian (breaded meats), Spanish (saffron via trade), and French (refined techniques) periods elevated it beyond peasant roots.Milan's cuisine balances simplicity and sophistication, shaped by its role as a commercial hub and fashion/finance capital—today's trattorias preserve these traditions amid global influences, making dishes like risotto and ossobuco timeless emblems of Milanese identity.Chef Walter writes the content for this episodeMore PodcastsChef Walters Cooking SchoolProduced by SimVal MediaSubscribe Free to the FK Newsletter
In this message from Generation Church, Pastor Ryan Visconti preaches from Mark 4:35–41 and unpacks the powerful moment when Jesus calms the storm. The disciples fear drowning but after Jesus speaks, the storm obeys and their fear shifts from the waves to the fear of the Lord. You will learn the difference between fear that comes from faithlessness and holy fear that leads to wisdom, obedience, and life. If you are in a storm right now physical, financial, relational, or spiritual this sermon will strengthen your faith, remind you of God's love proven at the cross, and call you to fear the right thing not the storm but the Lord of the storm.

"Around the middle of the fifteenth century, not so long after the first written references in Europe to cards of any kind, an artist named Bonifacio Bembo painted a set of unnamed and unnumbered cards for the Visconti family of Milan", Origins of Tarot, Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom: A Tarot Journey to Self Awareness by Rachel Pollack Did you know that the roots of tarot have their beginnings in the north of Italy at the height of the Renaissance. The first playing cards emerged in the courts of the noble Milanese families and became a popular card game for entertainment and play. The Visconti Sforza, Bolognese Tarochini and the Minchiate Tarot cards were commissioned by the aristocratic families to be hand painted and designed by expert artisans. Played as a game called 'carte da trionfe' the tarot was purely a trick playing game in the height of the Renaissance. Today I discuss the Visconti and Sforza alliance in Milan, Cosimo de Medici patronising philosophers to transcribe the Corpus Hermeticum, the time of Renaissance Magic, the shift in art and philosophy, the move toward the mystical traditions and how the tarot eventually evolved into that of cartomancy, esoteric practice via secret societies and occult practitioners in England and France in the 18th and 19th centuries. To now be tethered to the mystery traditions and used as form of divination, fortune telling and spiritual practise. I also share a few personal revelations about the tarot system along the way. And lastly if you are in Italy it turns out there is some serendipity to this episode I discovered while writing my show-notes you can visit the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo (a quick train ride from beautiful Milano) for an exhibition that is on until June 2026, that covers the last seven hundred years of tarot. In this timely and biblical message, Pastor Ryan Visconti addresses one of the most debated issues of our moment: immigration - through the lens of Scripture. With both clarity and compassion, he explains how Christians can hold love for the foreigner and respect for law and order in tension - without falling into the world's false “either/or.”Pastor Ryan walks through key passages in the Old and New Testaments to show:why every human being has dignity as an image-bearer of God,why nations and borders exist by God's design, why lawlessness produces real consequences, and how the gospel ultimately reframes the immigration conversation spiritually—because we were once “foreigners” to God, but brought near through Jesus. If you've felt confused, burdened, or pressured to pick a side, this message will help you think with biblical maturity and respond with truth, wisdom, and mercy.
In this special 12th anniversary message at Generation Church, Pastor Ryan Visconti calls the church to unity, maturity, and wholehearted devotion to Jesus. Reflecting on God's faithfulness over the past year, this sermon challenges believers to get their house in order personally and corporately by honoring God, equipping believers, and reaching the lost. This message unpacks why the number twelve represents divine order and spiritual foundation in Scripture and how God is inviting His church into a new season of clarity, commitment, and growth. Pastor Ryan speaks directly to those who are all in, half in, or just visiting, offering a clear invitation to go deeper in faith and fully engage in the mission of the local church.Whether you are new to church, returning after time away, or already committed, this message will encourage you to align your life around Jesus and take your next step forward.
Jesus often taught about the Kingdom of God through simple stories with deep meaning. In Mark 4, He shares three powerful parables that reveal how the gospel grows, why deception exists alongside truth, and how God's Kingdom spreads farther than anyone expects. In this message, Pastor Ryan Visconti walks through the Parable of the Growing Seed, the Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds, and the Parable of the Mustard Seed, showing how God brings spiritual growth even when we cannot see it, why it is not our job to judge hearts, and how small acts of obedience can produce massive Kingdom impact. If you've ever felt discouraged because you don't see immediate results from sharing your faith, confused by fake Christianity, or tempted to despise small beginnings, this message will anchor you in truth and give you hope. The Kingdom of God is growing even when it looks hidden.
Jesus didn't light a lamp so it could be hidden and He didn't give us the gospel to keep it private. In this message from Mark 4:21–25, we unpack what Jesus meant by the lamp and the light, why the gospel is an open invitation (not hidden knowledge), and how the measure you bring - your attention, hunger, and willingness to listen—determines the understanding you receive.

Family can be beautiful and messy and the holidays have a way of bringing both to the surface. In Mark 3:20-35, Pastor Ryan Visconti walks through a surprising moment where Jesus is misunderstood by His own family and accused by religious leaders. Then Jesus drops a warning that can feel terrifying at first blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. In this message you will learn what that sin is and what it is not why it cannot be committed by accident and why your fear of it can actually be a sign of hope. You will also see how Jesus redefines family and invites you into a spiritual family that lasts forever through the local church.
In this powerful message, Pastor Ryan shows that gratitude is not just a Thanksgiving emotion. It is a daily way of living that reshapes your speech, deepens your relationships, restores your parenting, guides your finances, and ignites your worship. Learn how complaining weakens your soul, how thankfulness heals families, why your money matters to God, and how bold expressive worship becomes your weekly declaration of gratitude to Jesus!

If you've felt spiritually dry or stuck, this message will help you trade yesterday's routines for today's fresh move of God.
““Without healthy employees, you don't have healthy customers. And without healthy customers, you don't have a healthy bottom line.” — Kate Visconti, Founder and CEO, Five to Flow. While artificial intelligence (AI) has hastened development and made enterprises more efficient, it also comes with more deadlines. The deadlines often merge into after-hours messaging. Burnout has become a default result of productivity, especially in the tech industry. In this episode of the Tech Transformed podcast, Shubhangi Dua, Podcast Host, Producer and B2B Tech Journalist, speaks with Kate Visconti, Founder and CEO of Five to Flow, about the critical issues of burnout and disengagement in the workplace. They discuss the five core elements of change management, the financial implications of employee wellness, and strategies for enhancing productivity through flow optimisation. Also Watch: Fixing the Gender Gap in STEMThe Wellness Wave Diagnostic to Help Fix Profit LeaksVisconti stresses the importance of creating a supportive work environment and implementing effective change management practices to improve organisational performance. The conversation also highlights the role of technology in productivity and the need for leaders to prioritise employee well-being to drive business success. With an ambition to change the way organisations define true performance, VIsconti developed a system – a data-driven framework called The Wellness Wave. As per the official Five to Flow website, The Wellness Wave is “a proprietary diagnostic that measures sentiment and business performance across five core elements.”Visconti sheds light on the original framework of the company. She says, “The original was adopted when we first kicked off as part of our consulting, and it's called the Wellness Wave diagnostic. It's literally looking across the five core elements — people, culture, process, technology, and analytics.”This framework helps companies identify and fix their profit leaks, which are the hidden financial losses caused by employee burnout, disengagement, and distraction. In her conversation with Dua, host of the Tech Transformed podcast episode, Visconti shares how understanding human behaviour can lead to significant improvements in business performance.According to Five to Flow's global diagnostics, only 13 per cent of flow triggers work at their best. For tech leaders, that means most teams are functioning well below their potential.Kate's top tip is to create flow blocks. “It's about designing uninterrupted time for peak focus. This is when your brain isn't in a stress state. For me, it's mornings with my coffee. For others, it might be in the afternoon. Communicate those times to your team and protect them like meetings.”These flow blocks aren't just productivity tricks; they show that focus is more important than frantic multitasking. “Multitasking is a fallacy,” Kate says. “You're just rapidly switching tasks and burning through mental...
In recent years, there has been a great emphasis on the supreme beauty and quality of the handmade in contemporary design. I am confident that we are currently at the heights of a craft movement and it carries a particular 21st century identity, which combines traditional fabrications of craftsmanship with methods rooted in new technologies and materials. It is no longer a secret that bronze, which was largely absent from contemporary design in the years leading to the end of the past century, has taken a key role in contemporary design like no other time in history, with much of it being fabricated in Italy.Osanna Visconti, my guest today, has become the ambassador of Italian bronze in contemporary design. Working in Milan, she has made cast bronze her sole tool. Now that her work is exhibited at Maison Gerard in New York, the time has come to explore her incredible vocabulary by journeying from jewelry to furniture design; or, as she calls it, “jewelry for the home.”Her furniture has personality, and her objects have the power to transform contemporary spaces, making them a favorite among interior designers today. Visconti's pieces are rooted in the natural world as she regularly collects leaves, branches, and flowers, turning them into the primary subjects of her bronze objects.

What if your biggest temptations are actually opportunities for your greatest victories? In this powerful message, Pastor Ryan Visconti unpacks the story of Jesus' temptation in the wilderness (Mark 1 and Matthew 4) and shows how it directly connects to the struggles you and I face every day.Jesus was hungry, tired, and alone, and the devil tempted Him to abandon suffering, abandon humility, and abandon God's plan. But instead of giving in, Jesus resisted with the Word of God. And because He overcame, you can overcome too.In this message you'll learn:• Why temptation always comes from the enemy, not from God• How to endure suffering instead of escaping it too soon• The danger of letting pride drive your decisions• Why shortcuts to success always lead to regret• Five practical ways to overcome temptation in your daily life. You're not the first to be tempted, and you're not alone. Jesus knows your struggle, He's with you in the fight, and He will help you stand strong.
Welcome to Future Conceived, the official podcast of the Society for the Study of Reproduction. In this episode, host Cam Schmidt chats with Dr. Pablo Visconti, Professor of Animal and Veterinary Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Sperm maturation doesn't end with ejaculation, but instead continues in the female reproductive tract through a series of complex biochemical changes. This maturation process, known as capacitation, can make or break sperm success and its independent discovery in the 1950's by Austin and Chang helped pave the way for the first successful in vitro fertilization. Dr. Visconti has been studying the molecular mechanisms that control mammalian sperm capacitation for more than 40 years. This discussion offers a fascinating window into Dr. Visconti's approach to this problem and how his mechanistic insights have evolved as knowledge about sperm capacitation has accumulated over the course of his career.

https://notesonfilm1.com/2025/07/16/thinking-aloud-about-film-delitto-damore-luigi-comencini-1974/ DELITTO D'AMORE (Luigi Comencini, 1974), also known as CRIME OF LOVE or SOMEWHERE BEYOND LOVE in English, is along with VOLTATI EUGENIO (1980), my favourite of the Comencini films shown at this year's Ritrovato in Bologna. Two factory workers fall in love. He's from a family of Anarchists from the North. She's an immigrant from South. They both live with their families but she's a woman so all her movements are monitored. They split up because she needs to be married in a Church whilst he can only consider City Hall. Factories spewing smoke is a constant background to the development of their romance. In the accompanying podcast Richard and I discuss: how it is a MARXIST romance in which two factory workers fall in love even as the factory spews poison all over them (one of the titles considered for the film was LOVE AND POISON); how rare it is for a political film to deploy such a delicate tone, a mixture of humour/romance/enchantment; the relative rarity of having working class workers depicted so lovingly and glamorously (by Guliano Gemma and Stefania Sandrelli). The film's been compared to LOVE STORY (Arthur Hiller, 1970) and also ALI, FEAR EATS THE SOUL (Fassbinder, 1974). We bring up Visconti's ROCCO E I SUOI FRATELLI (1960). None of the comparisons convey the humour, the romance, the enchantment that this very political film evokes. We hope we do in the podcast that follows:

Franchise ownership is one of the most accessible and scalable paths to business success—but only when paired with the right strategy, guidance, and support. Alesia Visconti, CEO and President of FranServe, has built her career on making that path clearer, faster, and more impactful for aspiring entrepreneurs around the world. Alesia leads FranServe, the world's largest franchise consulting and broker organization. Under her leadership, FranServe has grown into a powerhouse platform that connects people with franchise opportunities and equips them to become successful consultants themselves. Her work is redefining how the industry approaches business ownership, making it more inclusive, accessible, and future-focused. With over two decades of experience as a CEO, Visconti's approach to franchise ownership is anything but theoretical. She began as a franchise consultant herself, quickly becoming a top producer. When the opportunity came to acquire FranServe in 2016, she seized it—and completely transformed the organization. What was once a small network is now a global leader in franchise development, with hundreds of consultants and a mission rooted in empowerment. Visconti's approach is guided by a belief in personal freedom through business ownership. For many, franchise ownership provides the chance to control their future without starting from scratch. FranServe simplifies that journey by offering a structured, supported model with proven systems and a network of experts. This structure not only benefits the franchisees but also those looking to become franchise consultants—a role that has become increasingly valuable in the post-pandemic business landscape. Alesia also leads the charge in shaping the future of franchising through advocacy and education. She sits on several key committees within the International Franchise Association, including VetFran, the Diversity Institute, and the Legal Legislative Committee. She's a frequent speaker in Washington, D.C., lobbying for laws that protect small business owners and promote ethical franchising. Beyond her executive role, Alesia is an author, speaker, and champion for women in franchising. Her recent book, The Pink Tsunami: Women's Rise in Franchising, shines a light on the increasing influence women have in the franchising space—and the barriers they continue to overcome. Through platforms like Franchise Dictionary Magazine, which she also acquired and revitalized, Alesia is giving a voice to both the seasoned and the emerging leaders of the industry. What sets Visconti apart is her balance of business acumen and personal mission. Kick off a powerful new study through the Book of Ruth!
Visconti has been seen in this season as the director of the searing, accusatory film of the interdependence of the industrial class with the Nazis in Germany, The Damned. But where did this European industrial class arise, when Europe was still saddled with an immense set of royalty that began with kings and queens and spread its fingers into every aspect of the lives in their respective nations or nation-states until almost 1920? How was the transfer of power and wealth from the royals to a burgeoning middle- and then upper-class of technocrats, industrialists and traders brought about? How did this unweighting of the royals and shift in power to common but now wealthy families buckle civil society under the strain? In the 1963 film, The Leopard, Visconti examines the shift in the sand in the quiet, almost dispassionate gaze of a Sicilian nobleman, who sees his royal station being slowly eroded by the forces of politics, but also by the forces of economics, as wealth passes from hands supposedly blessed by a lineage from God into the more clever, adept hands of a new line. On Easter, we don't just celebrate an event—we celebrate a person. Jesus Christ is alive, and because He lives, your story doesn't have to end in doubt, fear, or regret. In this powerful Easter message, Pastor Ryan Visconti unpacks the moment that changed everything for “Doubting Thomas”—and how it can change everything for you, too. Your doubts don't disqualify you. In fact, they might be the very path God uses to lead you to a deep, unshakable faith. If you've been wrestling with whether God is real, whether He truly loves you, or whether He can heal the deepest wounds in your heart—this message is for YOU.
Let's talk about royalty—but not the kind you read about in tabloids. I'm talking about the kind that reigns in righteousness and power for eternity. God never wanted His people to be ruled by flawed human kings. But they begged: “Give us a king like the other nations!” And God said, “You're rejecting me as your King...but fine—don't say I didn't warn you.”Enter Saul—tall, impressive, charismatic… and tragically flawed. Disobedient. Prideful. A poster child for royalty without righteousness. He started strong, but ended his life on his own sword. Why? Because disobedience always destroys destiny. That's a word for some of you men—you can't lead well if you don't submit well. Then came David, the man after God's own heart. He was better. But he still fell. Adultery. Murder. A broken home. His life is a reminder that God uses flawed people—not because they're perfect, but because they trust Him. If you've messed up, there's still redemption in Jesus.
There's only one person who can bring you into the presence of God—and it's not a pastor, a priest, or a saint. It's JESUS. In this powerful message, we dive deep into the ancient role of the High Priest in Judaism and how it was all a shadow pointing to Jesus, our perfect and eternal High Priest.
There is incredible power in a simple invitation! Time and time again, we see how one invite to church can completely transform a life—entire families changed forever because someone took a step of faith and extended an invitation. So, what could happen if you stepped out and invited someone to church this week? Imagine the impact! This week, Pastor Ryan Visconti challenges us to go all-in on our new mission: Invite 1000 Friends. Let's be bold. Let's be intentional. Let's change lives.
Does God Promise You Wealth? The Truth About the Prosperity GospelIs the "prosperity gospel" really biblical? A lot of people are talking about it, but what does God's Word actually say? Does God promise health, wealth, and success to every believer? Can we really just “name it and claim it,” like some preach? In the final week of our Charismania series, Pastor Ryan Visconti breaks down the scriptures often used to support the prosperity gospel—and reveals the real truth behind these teachings. Don't miss this powerful message that will challenge what you've heard and help you stand on solid biblical truth!
So many Christians today are obsessed with demon possession, deliverance ministry, and the idea that evil spirits are controlling their daily lives. But is that actually true? What does the Bible really say about demons and their influence? Can a Christian even be possessed by a demon? We're tackling these questions head-on in this week's message as part of our Charismania series. You don't want to miss it!
