The Champaign Room's Brandt Dolce joins me to rehash Illinois' despicable, disgraceful, disappointing dud versus Indiana (3:35) and how this loss can serve as a line of demarcation (26:33). We also discuss potential personnel changes (37:31), attempt to define the program's "standard" (43:42) and examine the struggles with protecting Luke Altmyer (47:56). We also revisit the history between USC & Illinois (53:30) and talk about what the Illini need to do to take down the Trojans (64:07). Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Nepal's Prime Minister has resigned amid anti-government protests, as demonstrators set fire to Parliament and the homes of some of the country's top political leaders. It comes as a "Gen Z" protest movement was triggered by a ban on social media, which has now been overturned. Concerns have been raised by the Nepali community in Australia, calling for peace in the country.
Dismayed by the destruction and death in Gaza? Fear not, the wizards at Boston Consulting Group have a plan – a 38-slide deck that will Make Gaza GREAT Again. It's a molten nugget of consultant-speak, SimCity planning moves, weirdly proportioned AI slop renderings, and tokenized real estate transactions that place a thin veil of “solutioneering” over what looks an awful lot like ethnic cleansing. Psalm 30 I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me. 2 O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. 3 O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit. 4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. 5 For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. 6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” 7 By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed. 8 To you, O Lord, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy: 9 “What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness? 10 Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me! O Lord, be my helper!” 11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, 12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever! The Department of Health has voiced strong dismay over reports that some healthcare facilities are denying treatment based on nationality or documentation. This comes amid growing incidents where certain groups and communities have taken matters into their own hands, blocking foreign nationals from accessing clinics. These actions are being justified as efforts to ease pressure on the health system, with claims that undocumented foreigners are flooding public facilities to receive free medical care. For more on this, Department of Health Spokesperson, Foster Mohale spoke to Elvis Presslin
Hundreds of guests filled a golden ballroom to celebrate a nonprofit’s fiftieth anniversary and honor those who made it possible, especially those who had been involved for decades. A founding member shared with gratitude how, despite thousands of volunteer hours and millions of dollars in grants, they would not have succeeded without God. He repeated that the organization had blossomed not because of human effort—although there was plenty of that, too—but because God had provided for them. Daniel understood the importance of ascribing good gifts to God. When King Nebuchadnezzar received a dream of the future, he called for all the wise men of Babylon to retell his dream and then interpret it. Dismayed, they protested that no one on earth could do what the king asked; it would require a supernatural power (Daniel 2:10-11). Daniel agreed, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries” (vv. 27-28). In faith, he asked God to reveal the dream to him. When his prayer was answered, Daniel was humble and quick to attribute the interpretation to his great God, not his own wisdom (vv. 45, 30). It’s right to celebrate accomplishments, but at the same time we should give glory to God. The praiseworthy things in our lives can ultimately be traced back to Him.

Episode 65 - Murdock and Marvel: 2003 Part 2 It was a crazy year in America, with the Gulf War and the Patriot Act in the news, and over a billion dollars spent on comic-based movies. But in the actual world of American comics, 2003 was that most beautiful to things – a stable, productive year filled with fantastic and influential stories. This is part 2 of the podcast. that will feature the year in Daredevil, the Spotlight story and the Takeaway for 2003. The Year in Daredevil Appearances: Daredevil #39-53, Daredevil: The Target #1, Ultimate Daredevil and Electra #1-4, Daredevil: The Movie #1, Paradise X #7-11 and X, Exiles #20 and #25, Alias #18 and #24, Marvel Universe: The End #1-6, Ultimate X-Men #36, Captain America #19 and Punisher #33-34 Writing: Brian Michael Bendis (#39-50), David Mack (#51-53) Pencils: Manuel Gutierrez (#39), Terry Dodson (#40), Alex Maleev (#41-50), David Mack (#51-53) Inks: Manuel Gutierrez (#39), Rachel Dodson (#40), Alex Maleev (#41-50), David Mack (#51-53) The year begins with the named story that started at the end of 2002 “The Trial of the Century” but this isn't the trial we've had story leaning up to. Instead, Luke Cage urges and eventually convinces Matt Murdock to defend Hector Ayala aka the White Tiger who recently get back into the costume and in a failed attempt to stop a robbery get arrested for a police officer who was shot and killed. The trial doesn't go particularly well despite the fact Ayala is innocent. Murdock's defense included calling superheroes like Reed Richards, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones before Ayala himself takes the stand. During cross examination, Ayala loses his cool and lashes out in anger and frustration about how no one understands (superheroes). This story tragically comes to an end with Hector Ayala convicted of murder. Dismayed over the conviction and assurances by Murdock he will go free, Hector attempts to flee the courthouse rather than being taken into custody and is gunned down by police on the stairs of the courthouse. Starting in March, we get the storyline Lowlife in which The Owl has taken over part of the Kingpin's old territory and is selling a drug MGH (Mutant Growth Hormone). He's also trying to get incriminating evidence on Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Also, in this story we meet Milla Donovan, a blind woman Daredevil saves from get hit by a truck – who falls for the hero and befriends Matt Murdock (since he's Daredevil) Uri Rosenthal, the Globe newspaper owner whom Matt Murdock is suing is found dead at home and Murdock is taken into custody for questions during his date with Milla. Matt tries to apologize to Milla for their interrupted date, takes down the Owl as Daredevil and learns that the Kingpin is back in town. This then leads directly into the story “Hardcore” and the return of Typhoid Mary. Kingpin is amassing power again and needs a distraction for Matt Murdock / Daredevil so he pulls Mary for her “normal” life as a soap opera star. Her distraction, it turns out, is showing up during Milla and Matt's walk for lunch and setting Matt on fire. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage help Matt subdue Mary while keeping Milla safe. With Mary in jail, Bullseye talks Kingpin into giving him another shot at Daredevil which turns out to be a shot at Milla. Daredevil saves her (and carves a crosshair tattoo into Bullseye's forehead) and angrily turns his sights on Kingpin. This culminates in another epic showdown between Kingpin and Daredevil in issue 50 of Daredevil worthy of our spotlight this week. The year ends with writer/artist David Mack along with character Maya Lopez's Echo returning in the first three parts of the Echo storyline that we'll be saving for next year. This Week's Spotlight: Daredevil volume 2 #50 October 2003 “Hardcore Part 5” Recap Why We Picked This Story Daredevil Rapid Fire Questions The Takeaway Even as we leave behind the grimdark of the ‘90s, Marvel's Supreme Power, DC's Red Son and Image's Invincible lead us from an age of sex and violence into an age of cynicism and moral ambiguity. Dismayed in prison and puzzled by Jesus' military restraint, John the Baptist sent an envoy of disciples to ask Jesus, "are you the One or should we look for another?" Jesus answers their question, and then some! (And by his answer we learn still more about the way Jesus thought about himself.) Then Jesus added, "Truly, I say, among those born of women no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he." In my opinion, that's a weird thing to say. Why would Jesus say it? By saying such a thing what was Jesus indicating? What were the other things he said that help us build an answer to why Jesus said we (you and me) can be greater than his own cousin, Baptist John? In this episode I also talk about exegetical method—how to go about studying a biblical text—and reflect still further (for the third consecutive show) on transhumanism. Come think and pray and laugh with me.

I'm honored to be nominated for the Board of Directors. My wife, Robina, and I operate Centre Del Farm LLC with our children, Sydney and Liam. We currently run 70 head of Fullblood Dorper brood ewes/embryo recipients along the Delaware-Pennsylvania line.I grew up on a dairy farm where we milked 60-70 Registered Holsteins. I graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Dairy and Animal Science and was a member of their Dairy Judging Team. Shortly after graduation my father passed away and we sold most of our property in Delaware to pay the estate tax. Dismayed by our tax situation, I returned to school and earned a B.S. in Accounting. I spent a couple years in public accounting auditing not-for-profit organizations, pursued a master's degree in taxation, and have spent the past 25 years working for a company that has grown into one of the largest investments companies in the United States. I'm a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and investment professional. My current position is as the Director of Information Reporting and Withholding Tax Policy, Advice and Compliance. I also serve on our board of directors for our local Farm Bureau. We started with Dorpers in 2013 as 4-H projects for our children. We wanted to give them some of the same experiences we had growing up. We could have bought them nice market lambs and won some shows; but we wanted the kids to learn something more. I wanted them to learn how to evaluate an animal and improve a flock. It's been an education for all of us and we have all learned so much on this journey. In short, we started our journey to better our children, but we fell in love with the breed along the way. In 2024, my daughter and I both passed the judges exam to become Certified Dorper Judges. In 2024 I began volunteering my time on the ADSBS Finance Committee to help improve the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of our financial reporting. While the committee has made significant improvements, more work still needs to be done. A couple of things I'd like to work on include the establishment of a 501(c)(3) organization for our youth activities so breeders that make donations of animals, cash or other noncash property can receive a tax deduction and adding a financial statement section to our website for added financial transparency.I hope my business experience and passion for the breed will benefit the ADSBS members and I'd appreciate your support. If elected I will do my best to advocate for the breed and all our members.
église AB Lausanne ; KJV Joshua 8 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land: And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it. So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valour, and sent them away by night. And he commanded them, saying, Behold, ye shall lie in wait against the city, even behind the city: go not very far from the city, but be ye all ready: And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will flee before them, (For they will come out after us) till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They flee before us, as at the first: therefore we will flee before them. Then ye shall rise up from the ambush, and seize upon the city: for the LORD your God will deliver it into your hand. And it shall be, when ye have taken the city, that ye shall set the city on fire: according to the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have commanded you. Joshua therefore sent them forth: and they went to lie in ambush, and abode between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai: but Joshua lodged that night among the people. And Joshua rose up early in the morning, and numbered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to Ai. ...

Aemond refuses vassal Humfrey Lefford’s request to fly there and provide support. Aemond wants Tyland Lannister to ally with the Triarchy to break the Velaryon blockade. Aemond orders Criston to march on Harrenhal and dismisses Alicent from the Small Council. Ser Steffon Darklyn, a distant Targaryen descendant, attempts to claim Seasmoke and is incinerated. Daemon continues having disturbing dreams and irrationally believes he is being poisoned. Aemond orders Larys to summon Otto Hightower to court. Aegon, slowly recovering, tells Aemond he remembers nothing about the battle. Gwayne Hightower assures Alicent that her youngest son, Daeron, is kind, unlike his brothers. Corlys appoints his illegitimate son, Alyn of Hull, his flagship’s first mate. Meanwhile, Alyn’s brother, Addam, is pursued by Seasmoke. Mysaria’s spies spread rumors that the royals regularly feast while smallfolk starve. Mysaria sends food-laden Targaryen boats to King’s Landing. The grateful citizens fight over limited supplies, causing a riot that Alicent and Helaena barely survive. Mysaria tells Rhaenyra that her father sexually abused her and why she is loyal. They passionately kiss. Upon hearing Seasmoke has a new rider, Rhaenyra leaves on Syrax to confront them. Episode 7 Episode Title: “The Red Sowing” Written by: David Hancock Directed by: Loni Perstere Air Date: July 28, 2024 Summary: Rhaenyra confronts Addam of Hull, Seasmoke’s new rider, who pledges fealty to her. Dismayed at being removed from the Small Council, Alicent retreats to the Kingswood. Larys pushes Grand Maester Orwyle to accelerate Aegon’s recovery. While departing the Eyrie with the young princes, Rhaena leaves to find the wild dragon. Mysaria tells Rhaenyra to search for Targaryen dragonseeds (bastards with Valyrian blood) in King’s Landing as potential dragonriders. The new Lord Paramount, Oscar Tully, offers Daemon allegiance but denounces his nefarious behavior. He demands Daemon’s contrition and to mete out justice for allowing war atrocities; Daemon then executes Willem Blackwood for slaughtering the Brackens. Daemon has another vision of Viserys, who asks if he truly wants the crown and its burden. Jace confronts Rhaenyra, arguing that bastard dragonriders could challenge the Targaryens’ power and threaten the succession due to his illegitimate birth. At Rhaenyra’s command, Elinda and Alyn deliver the dragonseeds to Dragonstone, Hugh, and Ulf among them. Vermithor kills many dragonseeds until Hugh claims him; meanwhile, Ulf claims Silverwing and flies over King’s Landing. Aemond pursues him on Vhagar but nearing Dragonstone, he quickly retreats upon seeing Rhaenyra with Syrax, Vermithor, and Silverwing. Episode 8 Episode Title: “The Queen Who Ever Was” Written by: Sara Hess Directed by: Greeta Vasant Patel Air Date: August 4, 2024 Summary: Tyland Lannister allies with the Triarchy, but must first defeat Admiral Sharako Lohar in mud-wrestling; he wins, impressing her. Larys urges Aegon to exile themselves in Braavos where Harrenhal’s gold is stashed, then reclaim the throne following the war. After a long search, Rhaena finds the wild dragon. Gwayne challenges Criston, who regrets the war. A rage-fueled Aemond destroys Sharp Point with Vhagar. Rhaenyra, who hoped to have more dragonriders would deter conflict, declares war. Ulf’s boorish behavior angers Jace. Alyn rebuffs Corlys’s attempts at reconciliation. Rhaenyra and Addam fly to Harrenhal after Simon Strong sends a warning that Daemon may be traitorous. Alys leads Daemon to a weirwood tree where he foresees a future including a White Walker and Daenerys Targaryen; seeing himself as part of a larger story, he swears fealty to Rhaenyra. Helaena refuses Aemond’s demand to fly Dreamfyre into battle and foresees that he will die in the war. Alicent secretly travels to Dragonstone, offering to surrender King’s Landing to Rhaenyra in exchange for her and her family’s safety; Rhaenyra insists Aegon must die to ensure the transition. Many churches, especially small congregations with very few full- time staff, will host a workday. On that day, members come together to complete much needed fix-it projects and generally clean up the building and property. They treat their church building with respect and care. In Nehemiah 13, we read that the people of Judah had neglected the house of God. They had stopped bringing tithes to the Temple. This disobedience had a direct and negative impact on the “Levites and musicians” and the effects cascaded down to all the people of Judah. The Levites and musicians relied on Judah's tithes for their own well-being. Since the tithes were no longer being given, these workers had to leave the Temple and return to their land, so they could make a living and provide for their families (v. 10). The end result? The Temple could no longer function as it should, and worship had stopped. This might not seem like a big deal to us today, but it was a very, very big deal because the Jerusalem Temple was the only place where sacrifices could be offered to the Lord. Simply put, the worship God commanded had ceased. Dismayed at this behavior, Nehemiah once again sprang into action and set the people straight. Following the death and resurrection of Jesus, the procedure for and positions related to worship changed. We no longer need priests and Levites to slaughter animals for sacrifice, and our worship services look a lot different (Heb. 7:27). Even so, this episode in Nehemiah reminds us how important it is to support our local churches. When we give generously and obediently, our pastors are freed to make leading the church their main priority. >> If you are a member of a local church, your giving is an act of obedience to God! When you give generously, you help make sure your pastors are supported and worship can continue.
