Driving the Lexus LC500 Coupe today – it first arrived in 2017 and has had a fewminor tweaks along the way - from any angle the Lexus LC500 is a stunningdesign. Its styling deserves close scrutiny, perhaps the finest application ofLexus's edgy design and its low form and striking lines are simply a standout.Yes, it features the makers prominent spindle grille but in a less divisive form tosome of its more affordable siblings. At $204,635, an upper luxury coupe withexquisite features. The craftsmanship of the body, paint and interior trimabsolutely top class. The cabin soundproofing top notch in a body that is nolightweight at 1970 kilos and it feels very strong with excellent rigidity. A 5-0-litre351 kW V8 drives the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic with four drivemodes Eco, Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. It's a 2 plus 2, too small in the rear tobe practical even for kids but driver and passenger comfort absolutely first class. The Lexus LC500 has gained improved safety and connectivity - its pre-collisionsystem now able to detect bicycles in the daytime and pedestrians at night. Onegripe, the overly sensitive and too fiddly touch pad for the infotainment screen.I'm David BerthonSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this On the Move, hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman kick things off chatting about the latest spy shots of a potential new Mustang before moving to news that Toyota will be offering the Supra with a manual transmission. Then it's on to news that the Texas tuner Hennessy will be offering a Mammoth 1000 6x6 TRX. The behemoth boasts a third axle, 1,012 HP and off-road upgrades like 20-inch wheels and 37-inch tires. Just 12 will be built with a price tag of $449,500 each. Then, Matt dishes on the latest special Ford GT: the Holman Moody Edition. The street-going racer pays tribute to Ford's 1-2-3 photo finish at the 1966 Le Mans and features an exclusive Holman Moody Gold paint highlighted with Heritage Red and Oxford White accents. Then the guys discuss the collaboration between GM and Honda on a new electric vehicle platform before sharing the latest that Chevrolet will soon offer an electric version of the Corvette. Moving along, Matt and John are on the road and on-site at Retrospeed in Belgium, Wisconsin. The pair sit down with the shop's founder, Brady Ingelse, and are joined by Mecum Motorcycle Division Director Greg Arnold. The two-wheel-loving group discusses the recent red-hot interest in motorcycle collecting, along with the shop's story of how it came to be known as a powerhouse in concours-level restorations. Rounding out the episode, it's another REView, this time with the guys sharing thoughts and impressions from several days behind the wheel of a 2022 Lexus LC500. The guys are fans of the big, grand tourer, liking the attractive design (including the dazzling Cadmium Orange paint), the powerful 5.0L V-8 engine and the overall refinement that adds up to a premium luxury feel. They are left with some questions, most notably where and how it stacks up against the competition.

Sami brings hands-on impressions of the car that changes its name every other year, 2022 Toyota GR 86, followed by Benjamin's time in the unanimously great Lexus LC500, which somehow gets better after losing a core part of its structure. The pair talk about Japanese rear-wheel-drive coupes as if they're a dying breed. Wait... are they a dying breed? Then it's time to answer some (non-personal) listener questions, before going off on yet another tangent about something completely unrelated.

The Lexus LF-LC Concept was one of the most interesting concepts to roll out of the Lexus design studio. Many doubted its continuation into a production variant, at least one not watered down until it was hardly recognizable. But give Lexus credit: Its designers turned the LF-LC into the LC500 with only minor aesthetic changes. This Lexus grand tourer is not the most powerful machine with the 5.0-liter V8 under its long hood sends 471 hp through a 10-speed automatic transmission and to the rear wheels. But the car offers more than its numbers suggest and gives you a visceral experience. On this episode of Quick Spin, Patrick Carone puts the LC500 Convertible through its paces. Carone walks you around this beauty and highlights its facts and features before taking you along for a live drive review. Expanding on his thoughts, Carone chats with host Wesley Wren about this stylish Lexus. Wrapping the show, the pair highlight what makes this Lexus LC500 special.

Looking for a good look at Lexus’ flagship convertible? I’ve driven it. For now, Lexus isn’t allowing any driving impressing but that doesn’t mean I can’t show you the pretty pictures I took today. Hear the 471 horsepower naturally aspirated 5-liter V8 (no artificial engine noise needed) that’s hooked up to a 10-speed transmission. Watch the 4-layer soft top do it’s thing while traveling at up to 31 MPH. The embargo lifts in July and I’ll have plenty to say then. For now, enjoy the sights and sounds of the LC droptop in Flair Yellow.

Since the Lexus LC500 Convertible was revealed at the 2019 Los Angeles auto show, people have been salivating, just waiting to get their hands on it. And the wait is almost over. This feat of engineering is equipped with the same luxurious interior and 471-hp 5.0-liter V-8 engine as the original coupe, that same familiar roar of the engine, but now just a little bit sexier. We got a chance to sit down with two members of the Lexus team that created this beautiful car — Chad Deschenes and Josh Burns — to talk about what it’s like when you’re behind the wheel of this car.
