As a working mom, the emotional demands you have to carry are inescapable. Emotional demands could include mom guilt, anxiety, and being overwhelmed with balancing work and life. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, people pleasing is defined as "someone who cares a lot about whether people like him or her and always wants others to approve his or her actions." (Cambridge Dictionary, 2023) Have you found yourself caring more about someone else's view of you, rather than your own? Have you found yourself caring more for a person, more than you care for yourself? People pleasing can stem from childhood trauma or any other trauma in your life, but the effects of it can be hard to overcome. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares how people pleasing can stem from neglect and abandonment, or any other trauma you experienced in the past.
