Today Jill had the opportunity to reconnect with Siobhán Mac Mahon. Her passion for the spiritual path began in early childhood with the Sidhe (shee)- the transpersonal beings of myth and legend of her native Ireland. Living in this beautiful land, a megalithic landscape, helps her to stay close to the ancestors who need us to step up and clear as much trauma as we can, thereby healing them and our future descendants. Along the way she has studied and walked on many paths, learned many healing modalities and has blended them into a beautiful synergy to serve clients and students. Siobhán's healing practice is a remote worldwide one, using Shamanic and traditional methods, incorporating Anam Sidhe™ energy work, clearings from the Akashic field for individuals and properties, and elements of evolving Kundalini yoga, breathwork and meditation.   She also teaches, both individually and in groups. She is committed to this type of work to create a more fulfilling world for all of us. Many of us struggle to truly live what we believe spiritually. What if closing that gap wasn't about trying harder, but something quite the opposite? "Through the practice of ego relaxation," teaches Miranda Macpherson, "we can stop trying to beat ourselves into spiritual shape and yield instead to an unshakable presence within." In this episode of Insights at the Edge, Tami Simon speaks with Miranda about taking a more feminine approach to spiritual seeking and why that involves creating an atmosphere of unconditional love. Miranda explains ego relaxation, her unique process of letting go of all the qualities that maintain the illusion of being separate from the rest of existence. Considering the roles of trust and vulnerability on the spiritual path, Tami and Miranda discuss what it means to be a channeler of grace. Finally, Miranda leads us in a guided practice for discovering the mountainous presence already available in each moment.

Ep. 45 | Miranda Macpherson, spiritual teacher, author, and leader of the Living Grace Global Sangha, received a life changing transmission of divine grace while meditating in a cave in India in 2005. Subsequently, she developed the practice of Ego Relaxation to guide others in becoming receptive to subtle forms of grace that bring the clarity we need to live the most noble and healing of lives. In this conversation, Miranda discusses questions such as “What is the cause of our being and all being? How do we recognize that grace is already our primordial ground? What limits our capacity to be here, as we are, in this moment?” And she describes how using inquiry aids us in forming a relationship with grace. Miranda is a spirited, nondual, unabashedly feminine teacher who dares to use the word God. Hers is an inspirational path and teaching leading to the development of profound trust. Miranda describes how her own total trust developed through periods of undoing, sorting out, a period of relinquishment, and finally allowing the dissembling of all that was familiar. Not leading with our intellect is what we need to learn. As Miranda says, “What the world needs is more graceful human beings.” Recorded at the Science and Nonduality Conference, October 2019, with Dr. Roger Walsh, John Dupuy, and Douglas Prater.  “Be nothing, do nothing. Get nothing, become nothing. Seek for nothing. Relinquish nothing. Be as you are. Rest in God.” Note: This podcast was recorded live and includes, at times, some extraneous noises in the background. Please excuse them -- we felt the conversation was very valuable and well worth sharing with our audience. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. They also talk about the four primary dimensions for cultivating and embodying grace in our lives.

After a life devoted to her own inner work and extensive study of the world’s wisdom traditions Miranda MacPherson’s life (as she knew it) completely evaporated at the age of 36 – after a profound spiritual encounter in India. In this episode of Wyse Women she explains what happened and how her only choice in the process was to relinquish her grip of control and lovingly allow grace to guide her. Miranda’s story offers insights and tools to help others navigate changes in their lives with elegance and grace … however it isn’t a journey for the faint hearted or for people looking to step back from responsibility. Far from it, listening to and living ‘the way of grace’ is an advanced spiritual practice which requires profound levels of presence and awareness.

Miranda Macpherson is an international spiritual teacher who founded the OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation in London and currently leads the Living Grace community of California. With Sounds True, she's published the book The Way of Grace and the audio series Meditations on Boundless Love. In this episode of Insights at the Edge, Tami Simon speaks with Miranda about taking a more feminine approach to spiritual seeking and why that involves creating an atmosphere of unconditional love. Miranda explains "ego relaxation," her unique process of letting go of all the qualities that maintain the illusion of being separate from the rest of existence. Considering the roles of trust and vulnerability on the spiritual path, Tami and Miranda discuss what it means to be a channeler of grace. Finally, Miranda leads the audience in a guided practice for discovering the mountainous presence already available in each moment. (60 minutes) Tami's Takeaway Miranda began the podcast in the same way that she begins her in-person teachings, immersing us in a palpable atmosphere of love and unconditional acceptance. As soon as she pointed to this, it was like the sun came out in the small, dark studio room where our conversation was recorded. Miranda likens "ego relaxation"—the releasing of our fixations, fears, and need to be in control—to hardened ice melting in the light of love and acceptance. My takeaway: a commitment to remembering that this warm light is always here and always available.

The Love Series: Oh what a week this has been! If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this one should sum it up. My move (one mile away) cannot be better summed up than by this picture. If you can't make the picture out, let me help you (and this photo is not staged). This is what I woke up to Sunday morning on the top shelf of my refrigerator: tortillas, the dog food scoop, and the back of a surround sound speaker. Trust me when I say the rest of the house was much the same. As much as it would be great if we could control all things, the reality is we can't. This was a big part of my conversation Monday with Miranda Macpherson. The only thing we can control is how we show up. As long as we are showing up in our relationships as the best version of ourselves, that's all we can do. Ask different questions, be present for the response, and don't be so sure you know the answer before it's given. I hope this series has helped to give you a different perspective on your relationships with others and with yourself. Thanks for Listening and Subscribing! What is a daily practice that you maintain to keep your grounding? Meditation daily… and silence. I also sing a lot of mantras throughout the day. And I love to get out in nature and go for a walk, to be present and taking in the environment. What advice do you have for someone in a relationship where there is struggle with feeling like we don't matter the way we wished we did? Focus on what you are gifting to the relationship. What are you bringing to the relationship? Are you appreciating the other person? Also focus on the good times. Join your partner in their joy. Join them in what they are interested in. Share in what lifts their soul. Also focus on your core beliefs, from your childhood that may be showing up in your relationship. And have the conversation with your partner about how they are feeling as well. No matter how long you have been together, there's no way you can know everything about them and how they feel. And in these conversation we make the other person feel loved, which then shifts the way both people have been feeling. What is the best piece of advice you have to improve your relationship? Take 3 deep breaths before engaging, and don't multi-task. Approach your partner from a place of presence. Treat them as thought they truly matter. Really listen to them as you are talking with them. What do you truly believe to be true? Whenever you meet anyone it's a holy encounter. As you meet them, you meet yourself. In one another we find ourself our lose ourself.
