I found Derek through Twitter but you may have found him on podcasts such as Blamo! or My First Million where he has conversations on Sprezzatura and personal style. If you're into clothes, you'll find Die Workwear. Derek's takes are educational and has a good sense of humor. Seriously, hilarious. Derek is also the editor for Put This On. Derek thinks that men would dress better if they had coordinated shirts and pants. Would men actually wear this clothing line? And more importantly, is that cool? "I would capitalize on the hundreds of years of male renunciation in fashion by creating a clothing brand that numbered shirts and pants as sets so men know how to coordinate outfits." Check out more of Derek Guy's thoughts on Twitter @dieworkwear or at Put This On. Have an idea you think should be on the show? Leave us a voicemail at (848) 863-9917.

Wu Dang it Bobby shirt The Wu Dang it Bobby shirt isn't flashy, but it gets the essentials right,” Put This On's Jesse Thorn said. The Wu Dang it Bobby is quite comfortable for the price, and it costs half as much as most of the T-shirts we suggest. It goes down to a XXS and is made narrower than other shirts, making it more suitable to smaller and thinner persons.Although the Wu Dang it Bobby Hooded Sweatshirt is soft and comfy, it has some structure and heaviness. At first, one tester characterized the shirt as “crispy,” but after a few washes, we discovered that the sharpness softened into a comfortable worn-in feel. Even so, it wasn't nearly as good as the J.Crew or Lady White Co. T-shirts we suggest. If you attempt to see a shadow of a nipple, the cloth is a bit more translucent than we desire (but you really have to try). During our testing, we found no loose threads on the shirt, and the hems and sleeves were smooth and even. A few weeks ago we had a discussion about Burberry's use of Wehrmacht-esque Nazi camoflauge patterns in their winter collection and that put me back in touch with Charles McFarlane, who is one of the most well informed individuals I know on all things military uniforms. Charles is a second-year masters student in Costume Studies at NYU, whose research focuses on the intersection of military uniforms and popular fashion and the soldier as a consumer of fashion. He has also been a contributor at GQ, Put This On, Gear Patrol, Heddels, and his own substack Combat Threads. We had the opportunity to discuss the origins of camo, some of the patterns you'd most likely want to avoid, and how to get a start in collecting and wearing military clothing in your wardrobe. On this week's episode, we speak with Jesse Thorn, (@JesseThorn). Jesse is a media entrepreneur and podcast host based out of Los Angeles, California. He is the owner and founder of the Maximum Fun podcast network, and the host and producer of the podcasts Judge John Hodgman, Jordan, Jesse, Go! as well as the radio show and podcast Bullseye. That said, I discovered Jesse on a little known menswear blog by the name of Put This On.  Jesse is an OG. His work predates social media, and he was creating digital stories for the internet before the term content creator became a widely recognized job. You can arguably say that the Put This On blog spawned the #Menswear movement.  Today on the show I chat with Jesse about what initially intrigued him about menswear, the culture of clothes, and why he started Put This On.

It's the last episode of Unprepared of 2016! We made it! And by we I mean Jesse and Kevin. You and I know both know that measures of time are pretty arbitrary, and the whole "2016" meme doesn;t actually mean anythign will get better in th new year. But you have to start somewhere. Happy end of 2016 everybody. This week Jesse and Kevin talk about Star Wars. Links Jesse disagrees with, but enjoyed the The Dark Knight episode of Movies with Mikey. Ryan North is the amazing person behind Dinosaur Comics, Adventure Time comics, Squirrel Girl, Project Wonderful, and getting stuck in a hole with his dog. Kevin was involved in an "international incident" because of the Machine of Death Kickstarter. The only thing that Jesse has kickstarted was season one of Put This On. This story about a failed Kickstarter drone is wild. "Coffee Joulies" were a dumb kickstarter that used magic metals to do absolutely nothing to your coffee. Todd VanDerWerff wrote a good Rogue One review with a "confusing" headline. Kevin is going to make Alton Brown's hot cocoa mix and has made his eggnog before. Kevin enjoys drinking batch-pasteurized milk. We discuss a variety of survival shows. Apparently millennials don't buy fabric softener. Listerine invented bad breath to sell mouth wash.
