Join us as we explore how to prove that SEO matters to resistant stakeholders and C-suite executives, along with ways to combat the external noise affecting the outlook on SEO efforts. Dan brings his experience as a leading SEO consultant for top companies to this exclusive interview. He and Loren navigate the complexities of the shifting SEO landscape, and how to set realistic expectations in your business.  They also dig into the potential risks and opportunities of AI in search, and what these drastic changes mean moving forward. I think oftentimes in a lot of organizations, everyone's time poor, everyone has their own set of KPIs and objectives moving towards that bigger goal, and oftentimes SEO is trickled through. - Dan Taylor, 1:53 I think through that communication system framework, however you want to go around it or phrase it, it's about getting that shared buy-in. - Dan Taylor, 8:24 We have people planning their budgets and their SEO plans already, but with a little bit of a turbulent economy, sometimes it's a little bit of a question mark. - Loren Baker, 1:18 [00:43] - Dan's background and expertise [01:53] - SEO planning and visibility tips. [03:18] - Recommendations for visibility in SEO. [04:14] - Managing expectations with AI. [07:02] - Addressing SEO performance comparisons. [08:24] - Effective communication for executive buy-in. It's having sincerity and it's actually having a human touch. - Dan Taylor, 14:40 Essentially that kind of battleground which we previously had in search is sort of being lost. Now it's understanding what the impact of that's going to be, whether or not it's going to be a major impact, minor impact, or if the impact overall is going to be redistributive. - Dan Taylor, 18:19 It's about trying to bring in what unique modifiers we can into the actual product pages themselves...So how can we create a differentiator? It was this concept we had called champion products. - Dan Taylor, 21:03 Resources Mentioned: Mirador Local Connect with Dan Taylor: Dan Taylor is a recognized SEO professional, having worked with a number of companies in strategically helping them increase their organic market visibility and overcome technical challenges. Sellers can use this program to enhance their product listings. Rich Media Hosting: Sellers need to use a content provider to host Rich Media content on Walmart, as Walmart does not allow direct hosting. Videos: Walmart allows sellers to upload their own videos, and there are multiple places within the listing where videos can be inserted. Variation SKU Costs: When using Rich Media, sellers generally pay per parent SKU and not for variations of that SKU. Market Expansion: Launching your brand on Walmart can be a valuable strategy for expanding your market beyond Amazon. Walmart's Approval: Being "Walmart approved" as a seller opens up opportunities for selling in physical Walmart stores, which can significantly boost your brand's visibility. Diversifying Product Assortment: Transitioning from Amazon to Walmart may require a broader product assortment, as Walmart's revenue potential for individual products may not be as high as Amazon's.Quote of the Show: The main thing you're going to want to follow with Walmart is to treat it with its own approach and its own guidelines and its own respect. In the many decades since the advent of television, TV shows have prompted all sorts of commentary and critique. Some audiences rave over shows that others never quite get into. Parents perpetually worry about their children's TV consumption and generational, once-in-a-lifetime events glue many to the silver screen. But, perhaps because of their relative recency in human history, TV shows are rarely discussed or lauded to the same degree as literature, cinema and other narrative forms. How do we juxtapose our private consumption with our public dismissal? What thoughts and feelings do TV shows elicit in us as viewers? How is television a unique medium for stories and other communication?

What is rich media and why is it instrumental in the end user experience? Sanjay Sarathy, VP Marketing of Cloudinary, talks rich media and how marketers can get better outcomes from developing a practical approach to their non-text media strategy. 2/3rd of the web is images, or non-text content. And the world of non-text content is evolving fast- what with video, voice, AR-VR etc. all vying to play starring roles in most marketing strategies today, and users themselves evolving how they interact and engage with these non-text formats at different stages of their buyer journey. What are the 4 key things we see brands that ‘get’ rich media are doing? Here’s a hint: 1. They do an optimal mix of video, audio, devices, UGC and studio etc. 2. They recognize that different channels require different forms of media 3. They are constantly iterating and improving and evolving both - media that performs as well as media that underperforms 4. Well before they reach the stage of defining technology and processes, they have figured out the personas and their priorities In Section 1, Sanjay Sarathy, David Raab, Anand Thanker and Chitra Iyer delve into the 7 most common questions’ marketers want answered about rich media: 1. What is rich media and how can it impact customer experience? 2. Can we automate the creation and delivery of variations of one really great rich media asset? 3. What are the performance implications of rich media and how can I balance engagement with the cost of content creation? 4. How can I move beyond relying on our own content and manage and scale user generated media and content safely and intelligently? 5. How should I optimize for all possible touchpoints and formats that rich media allows? What trade-offs should we make to help decide our rich media content creation and distribution strategy? 6. How impactful can using search optimised rich media be for brand discoverability 7. How do you quantify engagement to make a business case for rich media? Focus on o Usage metrics (time on page, conversion, sharing) o Performance metrics (is my page or app or content asset performing better than it did X months ago in terms of streaming speed, page load and all the things that ultimately improve engagement rates) Plus 8. Sanjay Sarathy shares Cloudinary’s own martech stack 9. David (who was recording from Germany) plays his AI drinking game (see the pic if you don’t believe us) Section 2: A New CDP Trend We take a look at what even David Raab has called a trend in the CDP space - the acquisitions of AI based predictive tools by CDP vendors in November. There were 3 in November to be precise, but its getting more common. Is it because marketers want predictive capability out of the box without additional integration; just another way for vendors to differentiate themselves in a confusing and crowded market; or is it about plugging the analytics gap between data organization and data activation at two ends of the customer data spectrum? We delve into why that may be and what is pushing CDP vendors to shore up their solutions in this direction. PS - the 3 Novemebr acquisitions were: - Amperity bought Custora - Manthan bought Rich Relevance and - Netcore bought Boxx.ai Please follow and review us on Spotify or iTunes! Keeping up with the Kontent  In this episode of The 4 am Report we welcome back Andrew Jenkins, social media mastermind and principal at Volterra Digital. In this week's episode we talk about something that keeps a lot of content marketers up at night. The struggle to keep pushing out content to one's audience.  It can be overwhelming and at times, seem to yield not-so-impressive results. Andrew wants listeners to know that the traditional way companies have been using blogs is a thing of the past. Gone are the days where you published 10 blogs in a month on 10 different topics.  Welcome to the rise of rich media - content that is reworked into several different bite-sized formats to meet the needs of the various channels of distribution. It may sound like this is a lot of work. But trust us, it's not.You just need to figure out a system that works for you and your team. No matter what size. Andrew's advice: so instead of doing your 10 blogs. Do 4.   Yes, blogs are still the cornerstone when it comes to reaching your target audience. But they can't do it alone.   From 1 blog, pull out a series of tips that you can release via instagram or twitter cards. Put together a 30 second closed caption graphic video giving an overview to the blog topic (short form video with text overlay rules right now). Pull out a few compelling quotes and combine that with relevant graphics and push those out over the month. What you're doing is creating a hub of content on one topic.  And you're reaching people via a wider array of channels. (Will likes to call this the ‘Kris Jenner-ing' of your content.  Think of all the content that's been spun and reworked from that one show. Get the headline, now?) This will save you time. And get you better engagement. And better conversion. Andrew also shares some tools he uses to further up the content creation efficiency. He often uses trylately.com's Social Post Autogenerator. It's a free tool where you enter in the url to your blog post and it basically comes up with various alternative titles, or pulls out a quote to act as a headline. The URL stays the same, but you've just used automation to repurpose that post and give it a lifespan of a few months. When it comes to video, we also discuss some great tools that make creating bite-sized, short form visuals simple. Some of Susan's favourites are: lumen5, animoto and biteable.   **** Subscribe on itunes

Global examples of great rich media innovations / some of the rich media work CKSK have done for their global clients. We explored the value that rich delivers to creative agencies and brands today, versus the limitations of static digital advertising typically used in Ireland over the past 10 years. The challenge of how to  unlock creative possibilities as well as commercial e-commerce possibilities within rich media are also discussed. And we ask the question whether rich media may actually substitute the need to bring people to your website at all.
