Michael Babcock takes the hosting chair today while Steven is away, and immediately jumps into tech with a discussion on how to make sure you are always in the frame when it comes to video conferencing on your computer. Shaun talks about his experience with the fantastic Windows app Can You See Me and Michael tells us of a similar app for the Mac called CenteredHead. After more talk on everything from Windows vs. Mac and browser problems, it's on to a listener lesson for Shaun regarding his trouble using a liquid level indicator. Just how do you make the perfect cup of tea or coffee, and will Shaun admit to being a secret finger dipper? Listener Ken also emails us about his recent purchase of the Leaden Wireless Bluetooth MP3 polarized sunglasses. With a price tag of only $15.99, just how do they compare to the far more expensive options out there in the audio sunglasses market? There's more listener feedback with a voicemail from Scout giving his opinion on the reasons why people want stand-alone devices such as the Victor Reader Stream 3 and the SensePlayer. But with the prices of these devices creeping close to the cost of smartphones are they pricing themselves out of the market? Finally, Wayne emails in to share his experiences with sonar mobility devices such as the UltraCane and Sunu Band. Lesegeräte für Sehbehinderte (Clover Note, bessere Kontraste in den 8-Zoll-Lupen von Opteelec und EV Optron, unüberschaubare Möglichkeiten für die Schule, Zoomcam hat ohne Software Vorteile) 7. Two important Resources for Main Stream and Assistive Tech   Top Tech Tip Bits   Adaptive and Main Stream Technology.   https://www.toptechtidbits.com   Access Information News   Access Technology.   https://www.accessinformationnews.com   Have had My Hands on a SensePlayer for a Week or Two Now, some Observations   Overall I am very impressed by the SensePlayer. Looks modern and feels great in the hand. All applications and functions work as advertised.. My favourite apps are the Daisy player, File manager, FM Radio, Document reader, Podcasts, and smart connect.. If you are going to use the Senseplayer with your smart phone, you really do need to read the user manual, not just the quick start guide. No issues connecting to WiFi or Bluetooth. Default input time for T9 is quite quick, adjust in settings if you need. Using tone keypad input when on a phone call to select numbers and then Number sign to activate, is a bit fiddly as you have to switch between numbers, symbols and back again. When using Smart Connect, I wish sleep timer would be disabled as it turns off at the set time when you are using your smart phone: i.e. listening to a long document. Some times I can't work out when and why the SensePlayer will or will not let me back in to smart connect when sitting at the main menu. For some reason, I keep hitting the Record button on the left and power/sleep on the right which of course do their function: go to the record folder or put unit in to sleep. Using OCR against the Seeing AI app on my iPhone I'm still not convinced about. The microphones do work well, but you can hear a bit of a hiss in the background. I would have loved to see a dictation mode already on the unit. But Hey, it is early times, and the potential of this unit will be amazing.   A Reminder About my iSee Podbean Feed Sort Of Working or not Working   Seems there has ben an issue with my feed via iTuens for a while which I'm trying to fix with the host provider, for now use the following link to manually subscribe to my iSee podcast: https://feed.podbean.com/davidwoodbr/feed.xml   The VA Shop Webpage now Has the Details for my Tech Mondays https://www.visionaustralia.org/services/staying-connected/events/2023-02-13/tech-mondays-david-woodbridge   Exploring Tech Webinars for the mOment on Hold     We have a bit of a review happening to make sure we bring you content that is unto date and content rich. If either ball bearing moves out of place, shake your wrist and they will snap back to the correct locations.   Features:   Modern, and stylish.   Bold prominent tactile markers “mark” for the passing of time.   Out of the box thinking to tell time by position of ball bearings for minute (top face), and hours around the outside.   Looks and feels like a quality built product.   Various timepieces and bands to choose from for mixing and matching formal ware, casual or in-between.   Looks like a cool designed timepiece when warn.   As the Braille on the box says “Designed for you. Design for everyone”.    Listen to my interview with Ming from the US Who has had a EOne timepiece for a number of years: https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-whgk7-1389cf9?utm_campaign=au_share_ep&utm_medium=dlink&utm_source=au_share   Shop links for the Rose Gold, Silver, and leather/nylon bands.   VA Vision Store link for the Eone Bradley Rose Gold Watch 36MM https://shop.visionaustralia.org/eone-bradley-mesh-rose-gold-watch-36mm.html   VA Vision Store link for the Eone Bradley Mesh Silver Watch 40MM https://shop.visionaustralia.org/eone-bradley-mesh-silver-watch-40mm.html   VA Vision Store link for the Eone Bradley Apex Leather Tan Watch 40MM https://shop.visionaustralia.org/eone-bradley-apex-leather-tan-watch-40mm.html   VA Vision Store link for the Eone Bradley Apex Nylon Moss watch 40MM https://shop.visionaustralia.org/eone-bradley-apex-nylon-moss-watch-40mm.htmlSupport this Vision Australia Radio program: https://www.visionaustralia.org/donate?src=radio&type=0&_ga=2.182040610.46191917.1644183916-1718358749.1627963141See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
