There are certain joys, certain constants when it comes to the world of beer. And one of those has to be the pleasure when scanning the bar for a pint and you happen across the pump clip for Jaipur on cask. It's a seminal beer that has stood the test of time and this year the brewery responsible, Thornbridge, based in the Derbyshire Dales, celebrates the 20th anniversary of both that beer and the business, too.The Thornbridge story began back in 2005 when founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers to brew on a second hand 10-barrel kit in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall.A journey that began in the small Stonemasons Workshop at Thornbridge Hall is one that has gone on to grow into the Riverside Brewery in Bakewell where the team produce some nine million pints of beer each year.Like any good business, the brewery has moved with the times. While Jaipur remains the flagship, its gluten-free Helles Lukas and Green Mountain, a 4.3% Hazy Session IPA, also account for a significant amount of the brewery's production. Thanks to a brewing team led by Ben Wood, Dominic Driscoll and Rob Lovatt, they create beers that cater for a wide and diverse audience. So as the celebrated brewery embarks on a year that will toast two decades in business, we caught up with co-founder Simon Webster to discuss the Thornbridge journey. We look at the recent fantastic new addition of a Burton Union set, why collaborations continue to play a key part in the brewery's proposition and, with new pub openings on the horizon, why Simon believes that such environments remain the best choice when it comes to enjoying a beer. Simon Webster is a very talented actor! It was an honor and pleasure to sit down with him and speak about his role in the Sci-Fi/Mystery Thriller show "From" (20220-2024). Simon's character (Ethan) has developed much from Season 1; he has gotten braver and wiser. Not only did Ethan create relationships with Jade and Victor, but he also plays a pivotal role. I believe that Ethan is one of the three that will solve the mystery of the children and be the savior of the town's people. Or, my theory is inaccurate and it will be someone that we less suspect. Either way, I am excited to see what Season 4 has in store for us and I cannot wait for the premiere.
Send us a textEpisode 514"FROM"Actor: Simon Webster (Ethan Matthews)First I want to say that Simon is an amazing young man. He's immensely talented, personable, kind all at such a young age is remarkable. He's a really good kid.Simon and I talk "FROM", his character Ethan Matthews, If he is indeed the Man in the Yellow Suit, Ethan seems to get a bit of hate from fans, his thoughts on the season finale, potentially being the man in the Matthews house, how Ethan is going to react in Season 4 to what happened to Jim, teh fact that Ethan has been through alot. The death of his father Jim, the loss of Thomas, Sara trying to murder him. I also ask him if playing Ethan is hard as Ethan always looks like he is emotionally hurting and upset. We talk about the challenges of growing up and getting older while filming and so much more.Simon Webster is best known for playing the series regular role of 'Ethan Matthews' in the hit MGM+ series FROM.He began his acting career at six years old when he recurred as the young orphan 'Fred' in nine episodes of Hallmark Channel's WHEN HOPE CALLS, the spin-off of WHEN CALLS THE HEART.Since then, he has appeared in a number of series including Quibi's MOST DANGEROUS GAME, National Geographic's anthology drama THE HOT ZONE, and SyFy's CHUCKY.In addition to his work on-camera, Simon is a highly experienced voice actor and voices the roles of 'Pickles' in Disney Junior's SUPERKITTIES, 'Alex' in Spin Master's PAW PATROL, and the title role in 80 short episodes Cartoon Network's LUCAS THE SPIDER.Welcome the awesome, Simon Webster.#from #fromtvshow #fromtvseries #fromseries #fromseason3 #fromseason2 #fromly #mgmplus #horror Reach out to Darek Thomas and Monday Morning Critic!Instagram: / mondaymorningcritic Facebook: / mondaymorningcritic TikTok: / mondaymorningcritic Mondaymorningcritic@gmail.comwww.mmcpodcast.com

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for July 26, 2024 is: herald HAIR-uld verb Herald is a verb meaning "to give notice of"; it is synonymous with announce, publicize, and foreshadow. Herald may also mean "to greet especially with enthusiasm." // The appearance of robins heralded the advent of spring. // She is being heralded as the year's best new author. See the entry > Examples: "Trumpets herald the arrival of the players at the arena." — Simon Webster, The New Yorker, 14 Dec. 2023 Did you know? While herald the verb is more common today, herald the noun is older. When the word was first welcomed into English in the early 14th century, it referred to an official at a tournament (one of those knightly sporting events the Middle Ages are famous for). The herald's duties included making announcements, hence the word's uses relating to announcements both literal and metaphorical. The word is ultimately Germanic in origin, though like so many words of 14th century vintage, it came to English by way of Anglo-French. The resemblance between herald and the name Harold is not coincidental: Harold is a modern form of Chariovalda, the name of a 1st century C.E. leader of the Batavi, a tribe who lived on the lower Rhine. The Germanic source of Chariovalda, haria-, is also the source of herald.
