For Episode 107, we decided to class the joint up a bit. Hell, what about all things that it does that the other games just don’t, and the nonsensical screaming and camera shaking that followed… If you recall any of the reminiscent of the aforementioned occurrences that were described, then you my friend may have bared witness to the infamous “video game commercial.” While we discussed what the effects of a hype train can hold, the publisher-funded adverts that’re pushed down our throats to refurbish that same sort of sensation may be going the way of the memory card before we know it. Well, we made it through another big launch day for the toys-to-life genre, as did many in our great community. That’s right, because as straight as the crow flies, Skylanders Imaginators came straight at us, and overall, it was a pretty fun release overall. Because of that, we had to bring back a world-renown Skylanders expert to help us break it all down, as well talk Harry Potter, crazy fundraising ideas, and sub-par Western themed video games. That’s right, it’s the return of fan favorite, Matt Sonnenberg from SkylandersCharactetList.com!   First, we check in on the Kickstarter campaign for Lightseekers, as they reach the halfway point in days but are more than halfway to their monetary goal. We discuss the amiibo restocking, as well as a new bluetooth NFC reading device which we speculate will bring amiibo support to the NX and possibly even smart phones and devices. We also chat about a newly released screenshot of Sonic the Hedgehog and friends in LEGO Dimensions, and also the newly released LEGO Harry Potter Collection remastered for the PS4.   Finally, we break down the entire launch and release of Skylanders Imaginators. With all due respect to the fastest man on Earth, Usain Bolt, it was off to races for news from the toys-to-life franchises over in Gamescom. With the impending release of Year 2 for LEGO Dimensions, Skylanders Imaginators, and eventual new waves of amiibo, it’s no wonder that news is starting to come in hot and heavy about all of our favorite franchises.   Before we get started, however, we had to talk all about Hamilton, and how everyone should at least give it a listen. Slow news week? Not in the world of toys-to-life, especially in the week leading up to San Diego Comic Con! Waiting a day to record proved to be the right decision, as news continued to trickle in right up until we hit the record button - and even some while in the middle of show. Yes, Chad and Hyle wrap up their exhaustive E3 2016 coverage with some stray anecdotes and thoughts from the time spent on the show floor (such as when they talked about ghosts with Phil Spencer). After two full days of seeing everything that E3 had to offer, especially in terms of the toys-to-life genre, it was only fitting that we recorded Episode 77 from the hotel room. Once again, we brought SCL Matt in on the fun, and had ourselves quite the post-E3 show! With trips to Universal Studios and Disneyland in our immediate future, this episode had to happen tonight … or not at all!   We started off talking about our E3 experiences, before getting right into the news. We talked about the upcoming release of the Finding Dory Disney Infinity figures, the reemergence of Infinite Arms, our first-hand experiences of Skylanders Imaginators and LEGO Dimensions, and of course, all of the new amiibo announce by Nintendo. In the last full, normal show before we collectively head down to California for E3 and a week full of adventures and good times, we finally get to talk to the one and only Robert Welkner from Coin-OP TV! We knew this day was coming eventually, and with less than two weeks before E3, a new Skylanders game announcement was imminent. After dealing with the loss of Disney Infinity, and the giant question marks surrounding LEGO Dimensions, a sure thing already announced was the sixth Skylanders title coming later this year. What we didn’t know was, well, everything else about it.
