As advertised, the KOKO Crew took on the Hong Kong Sevens for the second year in a row and some people doubted our commitment to the cause, but let the record show we came, we saw and we most certainly survived. Thanks to the Discover Hong Kong (Hong Kong Tourism Board), Cathay Pacific and Ovolo Hotels for giving the show another phenomenal experience of lifetime. This tour will most certainly go down in the KOKO history books as a rip roaring success, we went to the Hong Kong Football Club for a night of laughs with Jim Hamilton and Andy Goode, had a day of childish laughs on the rides at Ocean Park Hong Kong, enjoyed some delicious food With Virginia Chan, took in sights and sounds of the Pottinger Street Market and we soaked up all the seriously spicy rugby action from the 10s and the 7s across the week. With the Hong Kong Sevens entering a new era at the sleek, sparkling and simply sensational Kai Tak Sports Park the balance between nostalgia and reinvention was perfectly on point. Due to the allure of the all new Hong Kong Sevens, throughout the weekend, the boys were joined by an array of rugby royalty including Bryan Habana, Alicia Quirk, Jamie Roberts and the aforementioned ‘Big Jim and Goodey'. Plus, we were allowed into the bowels of Kai Tak Stadium to see how the teams prepare in their brand new digs and we cap off the episode with a dash of debauchery, in our newest instalment of the ‘KOKO Carnage'. This show is the perfect blend of naughty and nice, showcasing the eternal struggle of which side will come out on top. However, ladies and gentlemen the answer is simple, KOKO always finishes on top. For another year the beauty and vibrancy of Hong Kong is regrettably now in the rear vision mirror, but as we build through 2025 and navigate the British and Irish Lions as well as all the other international fixtures around the world, this little pod will always have one eye on the ‘Pearl of the Orient'.So sit back, relax, deactivate the secret Airtags you had on your loved ones who attended the Sevens (in our case Holiday Swoop) and simply revel in the beauty that is KOKO on tour. Outside of the academics and activists whose ideology came to dominate the West in the second decade of the twenty-first century, arguably no group influenced public discourse as much as the Intellectual Dark Web. Challenging the intellectual and cultural orthodoxies that engulfed universities, the media, and big tech, this group—a loose collective of politically diverse intellectuals, commentators, and scholars critical of political correctness, identity politics, and cancel culture—relied on alternative platforms like podcasts, digital magazines, and YouTube to promote free speech, universal rights, and individual liberty. While the term is most commonly identified with Sam Harris, Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, Bret and Eric Weinstein, and Joe Rogan, the group's concerns and philosophy extended more broadly to include a wide range of individuals who helped mainstream critiques of “woke” culture and a robust defense of free speech, including Steven Pinker, Michael Shermer, Jonathan Haidt, Dave Rubin, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Stephen Fry. The Intellectual Dark Web's coherence began to unravel in the early 2020s due to internal differences (such as over the response to COVID-19 and climate change), and its full legacy and historical impact are yet to be determined. Jamie Roberts is a lecturer in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney. His new book is The Intellectual Dark Web: A History (and Possible Future).

Gaza has an incredibly young population, with pre-war estimates suggesting around half of those living in the territory are under 18, according to health ministry figures. When the conflict began in October 2023, Israeli authorities told civilians to move to a 'humanitarian zone' to ensure their safety. But, BBC analysis shows that this area was targeted almost 100 times in an eight-month period last year - the Israel Defence Forces say Hamas fighters were operating there. Now, a new BBC documentary filmed in the zone shows what civilian life in the midst of war is really like, as three children fight to survive.Jonny Dymond is joined by Jamie Roberts, a co-director of the film. A later-in-life diagnosis of a neurodivergent condition can be a catalyst for great relief after years of searching for answers and feeling a bit different as well as invoke grief over the shift in identity, the years of not knowing, a new understanding of limitations, and changes that this understanding might bring. In this episode, Patrick Casale and Dr. Megan Anna Neff, two AuDHD mental health professionals, talk with Jamie Roberts, the founder of Equilibrium Counseling Services, about the complex and deeply personal aspects of neurodiversity, identity, and self-discovery. Top 3 reasons to listen to the entire episode: Discover the nuances of neurodivergent identities, including the double-edged sword of attaching to a diagnosis, and how the need for constant curiosity shapes personal and therapeutic growth. Unveil the emotional layers of neurodivergent discovery and the balance of relief and grief that come with diagnoses later in life. Explore the authentic paths of unmasking and setting boundaries after life-altering events, highlighting the transformative power of embracing one's true neurodivergent self in both personal and interpersonal dynamics. The discovery of being neurodivergent can lead to a mix of emotions and more questions on top of the answers, but by further exploring your neurodivergent identity, you can find normalizing relief, a sense of community, and start to find your authentic self beyond the mask. More about Jamie: Jamie Roberts is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and the founder of Equilibrium Counseling Services, a teen and young adult mental health center in Southern California. Meet Jamie Roberts, a therapist and group practice owner in California. Equilibrium Counseling Services, her group practice, works specifically with LGBT+ and neurodivergent teens and young adults to help discover and understand their identity. Jamie is passionate about supporting young people and being for them the person she needed when she was younger.  Key Takeaways:  - If you're looking for a diagnosis, allow yourself to be curious and ask why - Pay attention to and lean into how you best communicate and work - As a clinician working with neurodivergent clients, consider: sensory needs, what does it look like for rules and boundaries to be equitable vs equal across clients, be upfront about what your systems look like - If you don't say the hard things, clients don't know it's okay to talk to you about the hard things   https://equilibriumcs.com/ https://www.facebook.com/EquilibriumCounseling/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT6FubczAj4gWMkqC8k1WKA https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093169156031 https://www.instagram.com/neurodivergenttherapist/?fbclid=IwAR2thUVFx31oIegXcTOPeHxyq-Bd3KmdlU7uHRmUQE8dh_biW46qRXFppFw https://www.tiktok.com/@neurodivergenttherapist --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/compassionate-climb/message

In this episode, Patrick Casale and Jamie Roberts discussed the powerful impact of authenticity in the mental health profession. We explored the connection between imposter syndrome and masking, and how embracing our true selves can lead to greater success and fulfillment in our practices. 3 key takeaways: 1️⃣ Authenticity builds trust: As mental health professionals, it's essential to create a safe and trusting space for our clients. By being open and genuine about our own struggles, we can foster a stronger connection and create a sense of empathy and understanding. Authenticity allows clients to feel seen, heard, and accepted, which can significantly enhance the therapy process. 2️⃣ Embrace your uniqueness: The pressure to conform to societal norms and expectations can be overwhelming, especially when starting a private practice. However, trying to fit into a mold that doesn't align with who we truly are can hinder our success. Instead, celebrate your uniqueness and precisely who you are, as it will attract the right clients who resonate with your values and approach. Remember, being authentic paves the way for authenticity in others. 3️⃣ Language matters: The words we use in our marketing and communication play a significant role in reducing barriers to seeking therapy. Avoid the facades of professionalism and instead prioritize relatability. By speaking authentically and in a casual tone, potential clients will feel safer to reach out and trust that you are someone they can connect with. Let your language be a tool for breaking down barriers and creating an inclusive therapeutic environment. Remember, authenticity is a superpower, and by embracing it, we can not only transform our businesses but also make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve. Let's continue to break down barriers, create connections, and promote healing together.
