Ein großartiges Projekt hat die Grundschule vergangene Woche nach Nassau geholt: Eine Zirkuswoche mit dem Zirkus Baldini. Eine Woche lang haben alle (!) Schülerinnen und Schüler der Klassen 1 bis 4 trainiert und geschwitzt, um ihr Können am Samstag in drei Zirkusshows vor Publikum zu präsentieren. Übrigens Dank des Bildungspaktes (Finanzierung) und der Verbandsgemeinde (Zurverfügungstellung des Platzes). Warum diese Woche so viel wichtiger sein wird, als eine Woche Schulunterricht, das wissen Zirkusleiter Rocky Charles Krämer und Schulleiter Thorsten Winkes.

She investigates the evolution of the ecstatic cult in the West, particularly in Minoan Crete,  ancient Greece and Rome, contributing to anthologies, psychedelic conferences and festivals. She was the program curator of Boom Festival's cultural area Liminal Village from 2010 to 2023. In 2015 and 2016 she also set up and curated ConTent, the first cultural area in Fusion Festival, Germany. She has recently co-curated an anthology called “Psychedelic Mysteries of the Feminine” investigating the intersection between the feminine principle and altered states of consciousness. She is currently a PhD candidate at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in the Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness program. Bio-On è stata la start up italiana che ha fatto parlare il mondo. Sostenendo essere in grado di produrre plastica completamente ecologica con dei batteri, raggiunge in pochissimo tempo la valutazione di un miliardo di euro. Capitanata da Marco Astorri, un imprenditore seriale che si definisce “un contadino”,  Bio-On arriva sul tetto del mondo, Astorri accompagna il presidente del consiglio Conte da Putin, si siede al tavolo con le più grandi aziende del mondo e con molte firma accordi di sviluppo e si parla di lui come possibile candidato al Nobel. Tutto questo finisce rovinosamente con un video YouTube di un analista finanziario che mette in evidenza le incongruenze e le problematicità del modello Bio-on: l'azienda in poche ore perde 700 milioni di euro di valore, non si riprenderà mai e di li a poco interverrà la magistratura. Ancora oggi il pubblico rimane diviso: Bio-On non poteva funzionare (era insomma solo una storia “troppo bella per NON essere vera” ) o è stato un complotto finanziario ordito dalle aziende produttrici di plastica tradizionale? What does it mean to live from our intuition, beyond the expectations of our communities of origin? This is the question that accompanies this episode. Chiara Baldini, the first woman in her family to attend university, was born in rural Florence, in Italy. Throughout her twenties, she took on various jobs  – waitress, translator, tour guide – anything that allowed her the freedom to travel and open herself to life. After attending Boom, one of the largest transformative festivals in Europe, Chiara knew she wanted to get involved. By 2010, she had become the program curator of Liminal Village, the cultural area of the festival, which sheds light on topics ranging from psychedelic science to regeneration and social justice. It was at Boom too, following a transcendental experience at the dance temple, that Chiara felt called to initiate her independent research on the evolution of ecstatic practices in the West, weaving the threads from primitive culture to present-day electronic music events.In 2019, Chiara co-edited the ‘Psychedelic Mysteries of the Feminine', an anthology on the intersection between the feminine principle and altered states of consciousness.Currently, Chiara is a PhD candidate at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She lives in Costa Vicentina in Portugal, where she often plays as DJ Clandestina.Together we talk about Chiara's early life, growing up as a good catholic girl, and her initiation into alternative culture and transformative festivals. We listen to some of the challenges and learnings of her decade-long career as a curator, including her efforts to re-integrate social justice into new-age culture. What was Pennhurst State School? Was it a school? A hospital? A mental health treatment facility? Turns out it wasn't really any of those things and instead is better identified as "Pennsylvania's Shame." The Pennhurst State School was borne out of a eugenicist idea that individuals with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities are "other" and should not be permitted to intermingle with "preferred" society. For 80 years, Pennhurst State School was a place where suffering was the norm and no one cared. In 1968, however, a local news reporter named Bill Baldini produced a multi-part expose on the "school" which lead to some immediate reforms but also - and critically - many lawsuits.
