We chat about Pasefika seasonal workers in Australia, the senate hearing, shortcomings of the Pacific-Australia Labour Mobility scheme (PALM) and how Pacific workers are being abused. We discuss Blackbirding of Pasefika people and how these programs, in some way, are a continuation of that awful practice. As always, we want ways to help. 1. Read up on some articles and watch/listen to the senate hearing. You can find that here: https://parlview.aph.gov.au/mediaPlayer.php?videoID=567875&operation_mode=parlview#/1 2. If you know people who are part of the labour scheme - reach out and make sure they have everything they need, particularly during these Winter months. 3. If you don't personally know anyone you can help, join a local effort in collecting things to send to regional areas. 4. Pressure your local MPs - squeak up! This book is different from most books on raising children. It is a plea for the parents to truly know and walk with God – for them to love God and His Word. In the correct order, focusing first on the parents, Andrew Murray then urges parents to sincerely and consistently love their children and in all tenderness and gentleness teach them as God also teaches us. Children are a most precious gift that we receive from God, and they deserve our very best. Our faithful training will not be lost on our children; this is a promise found over and over again in the Scriptures. If our hearts are right towards God and our children, the world's influence will not impact our children. We can and must exercise faith, so our children and our children's children will be able to impact the world for Christ and inherit eternal blessings. A few of the parenting topics covered in this book: * What sin did to the family and how to redeem that which was lost. * The distinct and also shared roles of fathers and mothers. * How and why to teach children manners. * How to show children the Scriptures in a way that takes root in the heart. * How to teach with a quiet, gentle spirit, as God teaches us. * How to intercede effectively in prayer for our children.

Acting is feeling.
As a result of Israel's insatiable desire to be like the Canaanites they are led to the brink of destruction. In response to Israel's continuing apostasy, and in order to prove to them once and for all, that there is no Savior save the LORD, God impresses upon them a very difficult lesson.--This is the Thirty Seventh sermon in the series on Conquest, Compromise, Judgment - Restoration- an exposition on The Book of the Judges.

You ever have some days where you feel heavy? Not like "ate too much at the buffet" heavy, but like worn out and worn down emotionally to the point that your heart is just heavy? I started out Monday feeling like a real rockstar, and then it pretty much fell apart from there. But isn't that the way life goes? How do we react when things don't go our way or when our lives are disrupted? This episode is all about practicing self-control when you really just want to punch somebody, and also taking advantage of opportunities that God gives us to live our lives in a way that honors Him. It gets a little church-y, but my hope is that the take-away is there for anyone who listens.
