I fell in love with Mossy Creek : a true limestone spring creek in the style of the hallowed Letort, back in my Washington D.C. hotel days. It's the closest thing to a big sky Montana/ Idaho/ Wyoming vista and experience you will witness east of the Mississippi. Couple the other spring creeks he has there  with all the Blue Ridge / Allegheny Mountain indigenous brook trout streams with classic mayfly hatches that number in the in the hundreds, and you have hidden gems that ooze beauty. Couple those with great trout tailwaters, and the amazing bass fishing of the Shenandoah and James, and you have truly one of the greatest fly fishing states in the country! I cannot speak more superlatives about what my very good friend Colby has to offer at Mossy Creek Fly Fishing in Harrisonburg. His boutique fly shop is a true Civil War period historical monument and must be seen. Olympian Sarah “Trow” Trowbridge qualified for the 2012 London Olympics at the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta, nicknamed the regatta of death because it is truly the last shot to qualify for the games. Like many other times in her life, Trow didn't accept defeat when things didn't go her way and worked her way onto the team. Trow then coached Kristi at Yale and has successfully coached many other high school, college and elite teams over the past decade! Currently Trow is the head coach at Oaklahoma and coached the USA Under 23 Women's 8+ to a gold medal this summer. For over a century, 19th century criminal history has been dominated by a single name. With his murders so violent, his acts so senseless, his victims so vulnerable and his legacy so profound, Jack the Ripper is as synonymous with Victorian London as the Queen herself. But whilst Jack was busy ripping, there was another series of murders being carried out that were equally as gruesome, executed by a killer equally as mysterious and whose story shared all the same traits of the Ripper, though despite it all, it is a story that has forever remained in the shadow of Jack, whose reign of terror consumed everything in its path, relegating all other mysteries to the back pages, for well over a hundred years. In the summer of 1483 Edward and Richard, sons of the deceased King Edward IV, disappeared from the Tower of London, where they were being held by the recently crowned Richard III. There are countless theories about their fate. Some believe that were secretly whisked away and survived into adulthood. Some are convinced that Richard III had them murdered, a theory perpetuated by Sir Thomas More and William Shakespeare. But other suspects linger in the background as well.My guest, M.J. Christopher "Kit" Marlowe is considered one of the greatest playwrights of the Elizabethan era, but was also known as a hothead, a scoundrel and a member of the secretive School of Night. When he was stabbed through the eye at the age of twenty-nine in 1593, those who had it in for him were no doubt relieved to hear of his death. He had worked as an agent under Queen Elizabeth's legendary spymaster Sir Francis Walsingham and had very likely taken some reputation-destroying secrets to his grave. Many, however, believed that he was murdered, and theories swirl around his demise to this day. Did the man who stabbed Marlowe do it in self-defense, or was it really to get rid of him? Or did Marlowe actually fake his own death and go on to ghost write for William Shakespeare?My guest is M.J.
