A decade ago, after many false starts, a theatrical movie of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. finally debuted.

Grab your sour-patch straws, stop sour punching your straw, and join us as we slip into the impeccably tailored, morally dubious world of The Man from U.N.C.L.E., where Henry Cavill smirks his way through the Cold War and Armie Hammer glowers in various shades of “angry Russian.” We talk about the opening Berlin chase, the world's suavest tablecloth yank, and why Guy Ritchie clearly decided style was more important than historical accuracy—or sometimes, basic physics. Also, everyone is ridiculously good-looking, and yes, we noticed. Repeatedly. Somewhere between the CIA, the KGB, and whatever Hugh Grant is doing in this movie, there's a plot about nuclear warheads, a fake engagement, and a fashion show that doubles as spycraft. We pick apart the “unlikely partners” dynamic, try to decide if Gaby is the actual MVP, and get distracted by the soundtrack every time Roberta Flack or Nina Simone shows up. (Seriously, this might be the most our Spotify queues have been influenced by a rewatch.) Naturally, we wander into side quests: our rankings of cinematic buddy duos, a brief tangent about how many spy movies would be ruined if the characters had iPhones, and Elise's theory that Cavill's Solo is basically James Bond on a heavy sedative. Somewhere in there we debate who in the group could actually pull off a 1960s double-breasted suit. Spoiler: not all of us. By the end, we're in Istanbul, the team's assembled, and we're low-key mad this stylish mess never got a sequel. He attended the University Elementary School, a “lab school” run by UCLA, where he was subjected to numerous psychological experiments. The experimentation continued at UC Berkeley in the form of mind-altering substances from which he may, or may not, have fully recovered. In a state of absolute certainty, Adam attended Loyola Law School. He was wrong. After seven years of practicing entertainment law and one moment of clarity, Adam left his life as an attorney to follow his passion of making films. After directing forty-five hours of network television, some of it sublime, some of it eminently unwatchable, Adam's career plummeted due in large part to drug and alcohol addiction. On January 1, 2004, Adam entered 12-Step recovery hoping to achieve an attitude adjustment. This was a New Year's resolution he knew he had to keep. And then one night he brought home Polaroids of himself in makeup and wardrobe for a pilot he was working on. It was December 1964 and nobody had heard of Star Trek. Still, the eight-year-old me had watched enough Outer Limits and My Favorite Martian to understand exactly what I was looking at. Spock's popularity happened quickly, and soon the fan magazines were writing about dad's personal life, characterizing us as a "close family." But the awkwardness that defined our early relationship blossomed into conflict, sometimes smoldering, sometimes open and intense. There were occasional flashes of warmth between the arguments and hurt feelings— even something akin to love— especially when we were celebrating my father's many successes. The rest of the time, things between us were often strained. My resentment towards my father kept building through the years. I wasn't blameless, I know that now, but my bitterness blinded me to any thought of my own contribution to the problem. I wanted things to be different for my children. I wanted to be the father I never had, so I coached Maddy's soccer, drove Jonah to music lessons, helped them with their homework— all the things dads are supposed to do. All the things I wanted to do. So what if my Dad and I had been estranged for years? I was living one day at a time. And then I got his letter. Too much Tay Tay & Travis, Mel Tucker won't go away, Naked Attraction on Max, Donna D'Errico's sending pulses racing, Sen Bob. Trudi is back from her east coast vacation.  It was good except for the POS AirBnb & broken down rental car. Some people are saying AirBnB is played out. Drew did a deep dive on the best charting instrumental songs. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are hot and heavy... and dominating everything in the media. She celebrated his touchdown, snuck out of the suite in a popcorn machine, and then left in his convertible to rent out a whole restaurant. Who knew Bill Belichick had jokes? Mel Tucker sends yet another letter to MSU saying they shouldn't have fired him. Former NFL running back Brandon Jacobs agrees. After all, Jacobs is convinced Mel was set up by the University. Naked Attraction on dropped on Max. It's a dating show, where everyone's nude & some are "lifting off the bag". Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde have settled their child custody case and something seems off. Everybody loved the show House even though every episode was the same. Dave Mathews is going to be canceled someday for his appearance on the show. Kevin Sorbo is mad that Hollywood actors aren't manly enough.  Especially those high paid femmes: The Rock, Vin Diesel, Ryan Reynolds and Mark Walhberg. The writers strike in Hollywood is finally over. Both Trump and Biden are going to town to make the UAW strike all about them. The only thing that could possibly stop Vince Neil from rocking the OK state fair is gunshots. The Global Citizens concert happened and no one noticed. Red Hot Chili Peppers were the only set worth watching. Trudi threatened to leave her fridge. The fridge had second thoughts. The new replacement fridge is very sad and looking for a new home. Donna D'Errico is sending pulses racing again. She looks good, just not like Donna D'Errico. Matthew Perry is doing just fine, despite all evidence to the contrary. He even has a new girlfriend. RIP David McCallum from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. London cops have opened a criminal investigation into the Russell Brand allegations. Drew dumped Jennifer Anniston.  Megan Rapinoe has not sung her final National Anthem for the USWNT. New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez has been indicted (again) for bribery charges.
