They have been recognized by leaders in the mental health realm, government service sectors and by many local radio and magazine outlets. With hopes to grow and offer more services, Sara is continuing to expand her knowledge and education to serve the community and especially families struggling through difficult times. Perhaps, they will continue with their passion and help others to create amazing business for themselves! "Life is wild ride and we have the choice on how we are going to move through it, choose your hard and never give up. Our guest for this week's episode of the Blaze is Sara Gonzales, host of the News and Why it Matters on the Blaze Network. Sara is a political commentator, entrepreneur, beauty brand CEO, mom, and karaoke expert. Not necessarily in that order. Sara talks about major issues that need to be discussed with a healthy dose of wit and cynicism, I'm your girl. We touched on all the different bull facing our nation including her mission to start fighting back. It's not "my truth" or "your truth." There is only truth, and you can count on Sara to speak it.Sara was recently at the Roanoke all ages drag show and we talked about the insanity from these parents. It's not her first trip to see what was really going on at these drag shows, but she's noticed a progression that shows it's becoming a full family affair. We also try and figure out why the police aren't doing about this as they are technically breaking city ordinance. Watch her explain the scene. I also ask, as someone that has attended an ADULT drag show, what happened to the actual entertainment and talent. We dive further into this trans world and the madness surrounding the conversation. We discuss the Matt Walsh Documentary “What is a Woman?” and how it plays into this conversation. I had to ask the question on what possessed her to get into this crazy world of political commentary, and how she got her break at the Blaze. We also shut down the question of “is it inappropriate to have a work husband?” LOL. She also talks about her brand American Beauty By Sara, and the reason it's important to start supporting business with like-minded values since the world is cancelling us. With her very visible presence in the Texas area and how she views the Beto vs. Abbott race. I'm more concerned than she is but based on her polling contacts it should not be an issue. She's had some great topics recently on the show, one of which was her questioning Trump if he would pardon the J6 peaceful protesters that entered the capital. Sara went on an EPIC rant regarding how insane it is what is happening to those prisoners in the DC gitmo. "It's necessary that we create a future-proof chocolate brand to de-risk the core supply chain."  -Max Marquart     “A lot of people are aware that meat is bad for the planet, that cheese is bad for the planet. But most people don't know about the devastating effects of our enormous production of global cocoa harvesting. It's important for consumers to get educated about the problems.” -Sara Marquart Episode Description:  Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, ruby chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, sweet chocolate, unsweetened chocolate -- How much do we love chocolates!    Globally, the number of chocolates consumed each year is estimated to be at least 7.2 metric tons. Therefore, it's not surprising that the chocolate industry is now a billion-dollar empire.    Yet, this sweet treat has a bitter, darker secret. The cacao plant, the main component used in chocolate making, is a very controversial ingredient. It is strongly linked with deforestation and loss of biodiversity. With the high production demand, farmers are forced to clear forest lands and over use chemical fertilizers. These practices pollute the environment, affect human health, contribute to climate change, and displace animals that naturally inhabit the land. Moreover, history reveals that cacao farming is directly associated with increased poverty and child labor. In Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana, the world's top producers of cocoa, there are 2.1 million children who still work in cacao fields. Sadly, even big chocolate companies have no way of telling whether there is no child labor involved in the cacaos they use in manufacturing.    Fortunately, startups and innovators are making noble attempts to create more sustainable chocolate alternatives. Max and Sara Marquart are one with this endeavor. This sibling duo has recently launched QOA, the world's first 100% cocoa-free, gluten-free, allergen-free, lactose-free chocolate. As their chocolate is made from by-products, the whole process does not come with significant human and environmental consequences.    Join us this week as Max and Sara share the processes that go with turning by-products into a future-proof chocolate brand, removing the risks in our supply chain, educating consumers to make more informed choices, and satisfying the world's needs without sacrificing sustainability. Tune in and learn how you can be part of the QOA mission! Connect with Max and Sara Marquart:  Max and Sara are both scientists who love food, science, and sustainability. And in their quest to weave together their passions, QOA was born. QOA manufactures the world's first-ever 100% cocoa-free chocolate alternative. With Sara's expertise in food chemistry and Max's ability to build and grow a business, this venture is now getting recognition in many parts of the world for its contribution especially in promoting sustainable practices and creating healthy food alternatives.    Max Twitter LinkedIn   Sara  Twitter LinkedIn   Connect with QOA:  Website LinkedIn Connect with Justine:  Website Facebook Instagram LinkedIn   Connect with NextGenChef: Website  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram  YouTube NextGenChef App (Apple) NextGenChef App (Android)  Episode Highlights: 01:43 Cocoa vs Cacao 05:09 Sibling Entrepreneurs 07:05 A Much Bigger Problem 11:16 Cocoa and Its Global Effect 13:56 A Chocolate for You and the Planet 18:49 Join the QOA Mission

This week on the podcast I’m speaking with Sara and Guy Stuart, the father and daughter collaboration of bikepackersfoundry.com.When Guy retired, he discovered bikepacking and soon after, he began building his own bags. Guy spent a lot of time building luggage, but it started to feel a little too much like work. So in 2019 he reached out to his daughter Sara and asked if she’d be interested in starting a business. With Sara’s background in sales, it wasn’t long before they were open for business. Sara jumped in with both feet to learn all the skills required to fabricate each quality piece while also running all other aspects of the business. Hands on to say the least.Bikepackersfoundry.com’s mission is to create, field-test, and handcraft, original ultralight bikepacking gear using high-quality materials. They also provide ultralight DIY designs and usage ideas. This is where Guy’s expertise comes in.Guy Stuart is a very experienced bikepacker, and has no problems heading out into the elements to test his creations to ensure they work as designed, while withstanding the harsh conditions in the Rocky Mountains. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of spending some time riding bikes and camping with Guy and I can say that he is a master of his craft.I hope you enjoy this conversation. Today we discuss Biden's first 100 days in office and give him a grade (spoiler alert, he did pretty well), we talk about the census and what redistricting means for Democrats, and we look at the efforts of local Anti-abortion advocates and their push to make Naples a sanctuary city for the unborn. Plus we have our moments of positivity. But before we get into all of that here is some Democratic Party news. First, it is with great sadness that we announce the resignation of our State Committee woman Sara McFadden. Sara has been a huge asset to the local party over the last 5 years. She has run twice for office and made huge strides in a very difficult district, growing the party with all of her efforts both as a candidate and as our State Committeewoman. She will remain on as a Precinct committee person, but she is taking a much deserved break. A huge thank you to Sara for all of her efforts. With Sara's resignation, we have to replace her position and we are excited to announce that Jane Schletweig has agreed to become our new State Committeewoman. Jane is a precinct committeewoman out of Marco, she is Vice-President of the Democratic Women's Club of Marco, and she is the Region 7 Chair for the Democratic Women's Club of Florida. Jane has worked closely with the leadership of the Collier Democratic Party over the last 4 years and we are excited for her to join our leadership team. The Democratic County Chairs Association met for the first time this past month and we had State Party Chair Manny Diaz and Executive Director Marcus Dixon on to update us on all the Florida Democratic Party efforts. They are doing a great job of getting the party back moving in the right direction. They have proposed a annual budget of 12 million dollars, focusing heavily on voter registration and communication. They have budget money to combat what will prove to be contentious redistricting process. They have had to deal with a lot of unforseen issues that have arisen after their election, but they have righted the ship and are pushing forward. Here are the upcoming meetings to put on your schedule. Thursday May 6th @ 6:30 is the Monthly DEC meeting. This is the business meeting of the party, it is open to the public. Tuesday May 11th @7:00 is the monthly meeting of the Democratic Womens Club of Marco. I will speaking at this meeting along with our outgoing State Committeewoman Sara McFadden. We will be discussing the legislative session and the voting trends as seen around Collier County. Monday May 17th @ 6:30 is the monthly meeting of the Collier Democratic Club. Please remember to volunteer and donate. We are an all volunteer organization and we rely on your generosity to maintain the website, produce this podcast, and promote the agenda of the Democratic party through out Collier and Southwest Florida, so please donate a little time or money to our efforts. It is greatly appreciated.   Support this podcast

Sara El-Amine is a progressive senior strategist who was one of the architects of the Obama grassroots movement, playing key roles outside the US White House to pass and implement health care reform, minimum wage, marriage equality, gun violence prevention, climate protections, and more. She is currently Head of Community Engagement at Lyft, where she oversees driver, passenger, and local non-profit engagement for the company. She is also a mom to 1.5 year old, Julius. Climate change has been a key factor in increasing the risk and extent of wildfires in the Western United States. Wildfire risk depends on a number of factors, including temperature, soil moisture, and the presence of trees, shrubs, and other potential fuel. All these factors have strong direct or indirect ties to climate variability and climate change. Research shows that changes in climate that create warmer, drier conditions, increased drought, and a longer fire season are boosting these increases in wildfire risk. Once a fire starts—more than 80 percent of U.S. wildfires are caused by people—warmer temperatures and drier conditions can help fires spread and make them harder to put out. With Sara we discuss the wildfires happening in the West, effects it's had for her and her family, the correlation with the wildfires and climate change, local and state-wide action, and what actions you can take on climate change. content: Sep 21, 2018 · podcast: Mar 10, 2019 Audio (MP3): 20180921 - Stop looking for proof Looking for reasons why things would fail used to be a big part of my day. I devoted hours to it. Always poking around under the hood for clues to prove that whoever I’d gotten close to was up to no good. That I was going to get hurt. That people were evil. Reviewing all the data at frequent intervals. If that all sounds dumb it’s because it was. I didn’t trust people or the cosmos. I knew the fingerprints were somewhere, I just had to find them. Keep dusting, keep analyzing. Always teetering on the brink of crazy. Where is the evidence? When I didn’t find any, it didn’t matter. I knew something was there somewhere. I just had to keep looking. Patiently waiting for some unspoken testimony because sooner or later I’d get a confirmation, a conviction, and then all my doubts and nightmares would come true. And then if I did get absolute confirmation that there was indeed absolutely nothing going on, I couldn’t even relax with the sound judgement that everything was good. I was too battle-exhausted from my search. I was too shaken by the possibility that it could happen, that I could find something. I needed to stop looking for proof. Do you know what happened when I did look? I made the very people who loved me crazy. I pushed them away until they left. I’m divorced twice. It’s a real thing that we bring what we most fear into our lives by being absurdly afraid of it. Looking at my case files it's pretty clear now that it was never about the other person or what they were doing. It was about me and my insecurities. I needed to “quit” all the scrutiny if I wanted to have a healthy, peaceful connection with another person. With Sara, I still keep a close eye on things but in this very moment I look for proof why things *will* work. Reverse the numbers and flip the math. Cherish the very reasons why love wins. Embrace what flows freely when I be my best self. And then all my hopes and dreams come true. #lettherebehope #relationships #diariespodcast tism · Sep 21, 2018 at 11:43 am That is a very hard thing to do. The fight choreography is amazing in this episode for starters! Reporter Wing was extremely excited to see the re-shoot scene with the newly cast Sara (Caity Lotz versus the pilot episode's Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) but Reporters Jay and SP had already seen Caity on the Netflix season one pilot version. And Caity goes have a real life superpower as Reporter SP points out: she has perfect hair despite her survival conditions. And she gets to relive a moment from the hit movie Titanic as well! Reporter Jay is certain that he spots romantic tension between Sara and….Felicity? The reporter also discuss why Quentin recognizes Sara right away but doesn't make that same connection with Oliver as well as he need for some advanced SWAT team style training. And while on this topic the Arrow makes some tactical mistakes as well. With Sara back her sister Lauren continues to spiral down and the reporters are disappointed to see Diggle do nothing. Reporter Wing likes to play the game “What will happen?” with SP and Jay and decides to play it around Moira's secret. In addition to lamenting the loss of Big Belly Burger the reporters discuss the combat capabilities of Kindergarteners, the art of Arrow catching and how great Reporter Jay is at nerf dart catching (Thanks Agent Haley from Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D.!). Reporter Wing gives us some Dr. Anthony Ivo comic book background and the reporters run down the Bat Checklist one more time including: a definition of comic book dead, the Canary references in the episode, and the League Of Assassins mention. SP wants to start a Starling City Window Repair business and his nasty gym stories return once more!   The reporters would like to thank those that were in attendance for the live episode recording including Legends Podcast cohost Beef, Legends Of SHIELD cohost Haley, and many other Geekation 2014 attendees!   If you missed us live catch us next time and chime in yourself!
